I don't either.  All sorts of props to the person who designed it; it's a great interpretation, but that's not MY Tali by any stretch of the imagination, mainly due to the points coming up from the top of the forehead.  Also, the eyes are all wrong.  Nope; it doesn't work for me.

 At first, I thought like a lot of people. That no matter what Bioware decided she look like, fans would be  outraged. But it seems that I was wrong. 


Most of those who saw this picture seem to fall in love with it. I'm one of them. Just look at these eyes! 
And to me, this is what Quarians look like. 

So, yeah. Bioware could have been less lazy and actually work-out something nice that a lot of fans would have love. Like this incredible picture.

This picture really is better than the one used in the game. If anything, the eyes are not 'glowy' enough (since you see them through the opaque glass as glowing white dots, right?), but other than that, it is distinctly alien, unique and, frankly, I would appreciate it more than the current picture. I would suggest that BioWare revises the ingame picture and, if possible, changes it. Hell, with something like that, why not make Tali at least take her helmet off in the romance scene, if it wasn't too much work?

I just realised...they haven't really revealed her yet.
it is a small photo in shep's room that you can't make out clearly unless you go digging into the game files. so yes, bioware is lazy, but because it is an image you are not meant to be able so see properly under normal circumstances.

Maby it is more a sign of DLC that will involve a mission that will do a reveal of what quarians look like at the end.
As someone said earlier: we already knew her face was extremely human.

Yes ,they were place holders, but they can't deviate too much from them as a result of being visible enough to see that it is essentially human...like asari.

Perhaps they figured that no matter what they revealed, some people would have been upset. So they just put the least amount of effort possible into it. To be fair, it's not horrible, just lacks creativity. I think the hair is inappropriate considering she lives in a suit. But really, it's whatever. I just wave the thought of it away with a hand while I'm playing. Luckily my lack of emotional investment in Tali allows me to do that with relative ease. It's a little unfortunate since I really liked the Quarians as a race, though. Still, I can get over this bridge.

What I really want to see now is a male Quarian. I also have to wonder if the Quarians are as "genetically diverse" as the Humans now. Or do they all just kind of look similar to Tali? .>_>

There's already a lot of talk about the disappointment over Tali's reveal. I don't see the purpose of you doing this unless you're trying to stir up trouble or hostilities toward Evil Chris.

Nope read what I wrote earlier in the thread I actually agree with him on everything except for the team will do a good effort on the reveal thing.

I completely agree on the rest of the statement so not evil Chris but reasonable Chris just wanted to point that out.

I'm not sure why anybody would blame him. He's not a designer; he's a community guy. Anyobody who has been on here should know that.

I guess I didn't see the purpose of this thread. All you originally posted was the thread title "hey come check this out" and what Priestly said 9 months ago. No explanation or really start of a discussion was made. I'm not sure what was funny about his orignal post. But I'll take your word for it that you did not want to start trouble.

That famous fan art looks way too space princess like. And too young.

I actually like the general idea of the picture we got. The black/yellow eyes from above could have been a good touch with a more purplish skintone, but the alien face above? I don't mind most of it but the whole "if you pull on my face it will fall off" is unsettling. It's not a matter of being alien, it's a matter of "oh god why am i holding your face in my hands now."

Just needed to be in game.

Because it is? the artiest was a concept guy for Bioware who left the team at some point...

this is not Tali...she never took off her suit and/or mask on a planet before she killed herself.
Bioware april fooled us (so to speak).
This is an ingame character using photoshop.
Think about it, it is actually possible that bioware hasn't actually revealed herself.
