yes, just don't see the point of playing all the way through again just to be disappointed, again

Couldn't agree more with you Bantz. What is the point?!

Endings completely Killed replayability for me. Can't even think about the game without feeling; sad, sick, angry or all three. Never going to buy from Bioware again if this doesn't change. Whats the point of being involved in a game that has so much choice and connection to the characters when it seems like the only purpose of creating this connection is to yank it all away at the end. Endings are so bad and full of so many holes it almost seems malicious to me. Casey did say he wanted people to be 'talking about it' and it not to be 'forgetable' yes pain and regret is harder to forget then happiness and satisfaction I guess. I regret ever beliving this game was the best RPG I had ever played.

It absolutely did. I was ready to play through it at least four times, but now I can't even bring myself to pick up the game because nothing is going to be any different. I'm still going to be crushed. :(

Yeah, I'm trying to do a second playthrough with another import but I can't get past the fact that absolutely NOTHING I've done in the series matters thanks to the last 10 minutes in the game...I can't even get to the council meeting in the beginning or play for longer than 10 minutes before turning it off.

for the single player yes.   Which destroyed my original plan after finishing my other 3 shepards(me1-2) when i first started ME3 was to go back and play a 5th play through from me1 all the way through me3 including all the dlc's i had.   And that isnt going to happen for now because of the ending.

Killed it all. I was going to replay the entire series an a Ren shep..... but now.... I used to be a loyal fan of Mass Effect, but then I took a reaper laser to the face. Now I just cannot look Mass Effect in the eyes.

Now don't blame Harbinger, though I do wish he had a bigger role.

I so desperatly WANT to play more ME3 but I literally havnt opened it since seeing the ending.

To distract myself Ive turned to fanfiction, Those wonderful nerds write some terrible and wonderful stuff, And most seem hell-bent on either rewriting the ending or outright ignoring it.

So thats how I continue holding on to Mass Effect, beacuse ME3's ending can burn and ME/ME2 just dosnt seem worth it right now.

Not for me. Nearly at the end of my second playthrough. Even in a NG+ playthrough with the same class, there is massive replayability. Tried out new weapons and armor customisations. A vanguard with an assault rifle plays differently from one with a shotgun. Used the particle rifle for the 1st time in my 2nd playthrough and it's so awesome that I could get through certain missions in Insanity mode without dying. Tried out different dialogue options and discovered new stuff. Not visiting Thane at the hospital got Ashley killed. Trying to stop Mordin but just stopping short of shooting at him makes for a better story. Siding with the Quarians made Legion mad, but oh so human. Oh, and I get to punch Admiral Gerrel this time.

I've had a poll going on this for awhile, it hasn't seen as many votes as I'd like to claim any level of statistical credence but so far its about an 80% lean in regards to the end of ME3 destroying the replayability of ME3 and both games before it.

It has for me. I managed to get a NG+ playthrough completed.  I've started my second (and my main femshep) play through but having just completed Tuchanka, i just can't bring myself to keep going. As much as i love my femshep (largely due to Ms Hale's awesomeness) i just can't manage it.

I also wanted to restart ME 1 and play through making choices not "normal" for me and experience essentially a whole new series. But the ending killed any chance of that happening anytime soon.

It's obvious to me that many people play Mass Effect just for the RP and the combat is merely a means to an end. I do think many people like the combat enough to keep playing though.

Yup, ruined.
And really, that's just as much of a tragedy as the unsatisfying and nonsensical ending. It's quite the achievement to ruin not just the current game but the whole franchise with 15 minutes of bad writing.

Pretty much. I'm honestly just going to stick to ME2 with my Femshep profile for now. Already played through ME3 with my Maleshep, really unsatisfactory experience because the last 15 minutes or so.

Yes and that's really sad. I spent the better part of a year being insanely excited for this game and now I can't stand to play it again.

I tried playing my second import today. I couldn't get into it like I usually have been with my replays of the first two. I just had no desire, no care.

Just curious here.  I think most of us have multiple shepard saves collecting electronic dust right now.  I'm under the impression that there's is no point in importing any of them because:

1) You can get the "different" endings in the end just by picking A/B/C, and
2) All you have to do to get your EMS up above 5000 is play MP, which isn't dependent on your imports

So basically, I could have randomly picked any major choices I wanted throughout the series (e.g. saving Rachnii queen, saving Council, etc.) and I'd still be able to pick my favourite color in the end; and the only thing that I'd need to do to see Shepard take half a breath in the end, is to play MP.

Thanks, Bioware!

EDIT: need to clarify something here - I don't regret playing and experiencing the ME series at all.  I had hella fun with the games and felt enriched by them in the process.  I'm speaking from the standpoint of replaying the entire series to experience different endings, with different closures and different futures.  Right now, as the ending stands, I can experience those "different" endings with just a single import.

Yeah. I was planning to play through the whole trilogy again including getting some bits of DLC I missed along the way, but I don't think that will happen now (unless they change the ending). They've really shot themselves in the foot with this if they wanted to sell more DLC. It feels pointless to play through the game again when the endings are identical, absurd and bitter.

I tried last night to start my paragon playthrough, like many others, this was supposed to be one of many sheperds all with different variations to see how it all effected things.

Turned it off just as I started the mars mission, hollow is the closest word to how i felt while trying to play it.

If the only reason to replay the game was to see the different endings, than I would just watch a youtube video of them. The reason I am replaying the game is because I have created a couple different personalities for commander shepard. I want to make all the decisions again, this time with a different morality, and different motivations. Plus I want to experience both genders of shepard and some different romances. You could see all of mass effect 1's endings just by playing the last part over and over too, so its not like ME3 is really different from that. Yet people still thought it was worth playing through that a few times. Its not about the ending its about the journey. I'm not spending 30 hours being miserable for a few minutes of cutscenes, I actually enjoy the game.

At this point, the only Mass Effect I can play is ME3's multiplayer. Why? Because it's the only ME that has closure and a definitive ending.
