I'll probably complete my Vanguard playthrough when we're given a definitive answer about the ending. Until then I see no point in wasting time with a story that will not matter in the end.

For me yes. No more ME until they do something with this ending.

I like the mutliplayer. It's fun especially with friends. But I am putting my second series play through on hold until they fix the ending to ME3.

When a franchise as no futur and a really bad ending I don't see the point to replay the trilogy.

Yes.   There is no point of replaying whatsoever if your last choices are basically the same no matter how you played throughout the series.

This entire thread is silly. ME1 and 2 weren't exactly hugely replayable either. Only reason I even bothered going back to ME1 was to make a file to use in ME2, and then ME3. Otherwise ME1 has aged so POORLY by comparison to it's sequels that I wouldn't have bothered otherwise.

ME2 compared to ME3 plays so sluggishly as well. To argue the "series" is "unreplayable" thanks to ME3's endings is probably one of the silliest arguments I've seen yet.

I've stopped any Mass Effect related playing activity. Instead, I'm in this forum now for frustration venting purposes.

Would be well into my 2nd playthrough right now… and damn, some parts of the game really are worth playing numerous times, but it's all spoiled forever. :'(

I wholeheartedly agree

If they fix the ending, then I'm sure it would be very insightful. Otherwise, it's just too depressing that all these decisions add up to an arcade war asset.

Then you have lead a sheltered life indeed. Bear in mind that people, myself included, still break out old copies of Baldur's Gate I believe you're overlooking that people want their choices to matter, yet again. The ending smashes that flat- ergo, choices don't matter, replay value is nil. That is the general thrust of the issues- anything else is personal peccadilloes.

I still remember the day I bought Baldur's Gate back in 1999. I had no idea what to expect at the time but even now, still remember the feeling I had the first few hours of playing: creating a character, leaving Candlekeep, meeting Minsc and Boo. It was the best.

I still own and play each of these games when the mood strikes. I still own Mass Effect 3 as well. Can't put it on the list as is because I really don't think I will play again. ME and ME2 may soon follow. Sad day.

To answer the question, yes.

Perfect.

Yes. It is simply too difficult for me to enjoy the game when all I ever do in ME3 is watch an arbitrary "counter" go up. If the ending was at all designed in a way that would allow me to effect change or different outcomes, then yes, I'd be already back doing another playthrough, but as it is there is a SEVERE and UTTER disconnect between 99% of the game and the 1% that is its ending.

People that say that I should still enjoy the 99% that are good don't understand the crushing, depressing feeling that virtually nothing I do in the first 99% matters in the end.

So yes, I will not be touching this game until Bioware finally decides to man up and give more concrete answers than inane and vague twitter babble, which I find arrogant and condescending.

Said this in another topic:

"I just realized; at first I was planning on playing the whole trilogy, or at least ME2 and ME3 through again with different choices, but with the current ending of ME3 it is not a very tempting idea."

I already have 3 different saves ready from ME1 into ME2. Living in hope for a better ending on ME3.

Edit: typo

So, we shouldn't complain when a game stops being enjoyable?

Yes, the ending have destroyed any interest I had in replaying the game(s).

For me, No.

I enjoyed the journey, a journey that started in ME1. I will not stop playing simply because I do not like the ending. I can always surrender myself to Marauder Shields.

Yes, the entire appeal of the Mass Effect series was the prospect that your decisions mattered in the end. And that didn't happen at all. It completely devalues everything you do in ME1 + ME2 following the thought "If everything goes to hell anyway, whats the point?". Goddamnit Bioware, why the cheap ending, it's the most important thing...
