Yep it even killed my drive to play through ME1 for my completionist playthrough. Sad really

It did for me. Not raging, not hating, just gutted at how such a great trilogy ends with... well, you know. Can't look at my LCE, and my eagerly-anticipated uber-run through all three is just not going to happen. Many of my friends are still happily playing the multiplayer, not wanting to finish the story too fast because of their anticipation over how awesome the ending will be... I haven't the heart to tell them.

I don't think it necessarily does. The whole thing with importing is that you get to see the results of your choices play out *during* ME3, because these things have a significant impact on the individual storylines within the game. ME3 is one massive ending which ties up most of the loose ends.

It just unravels them in the last five minutes and makes them all pretty futile. I just don't get why they did that. Just end the game with Shepard and Anderson looking out over Earth, Crucible activates and Reapers are defeated. The relays are still there and we had all the closure from the rest of the game which would still be valid.

It take the replayability out of theme, choice and lore. Character interaction, side questions and gameplay are still replayable. Thankfully, they did get the gameplay right in me3 or the answer would be not at all.

Yeah, pretty much. I ran part way through a second play through just to finish up with a different LI, but stopped before the elevator ride to "Contact/2001" Now I'm done.

For me it killed the interest. I'm slogging through ME3 one more time in hopes that they'll release something to do with the ending, and I'm taking notes to see if I can figure out where they thought they laid the groundwork for the endings there are. (Yes, it's geeky, but writing is a hobby of mine and analyzing this will be informative, I'm sure.)

But after the notes are taken, with the current endings it's hard to replay knowing that nothing I did mattered in the least. Michael Gamble was apparently hinting at amazing DLC, but if it comes before the end and the end stays the same, it'll be hard to spend money on because I will know that in the end it doesn't matter. Nothing I do matters in the slightest.

The ending killed replayability for me. How does Bioware expect me to invest more time in this game when I know none of the things I do will make any difference? I was looking forward to playing my other five Shepard's but now Bioware has robbed that from me.

Short answer: yes. And that bums me out b/c I had several Sheps and was really looking forward to as many playthroughs as ME1 and ME2 gave me.I'm not going to play through again just to see or NOT see certain non-playable former squadmates this time around.

Zero replay with current endings.

This pretty much fits the business model for huge corporate entities like EA though. Replay means you wont buy new games because you're still enjoying the old ones. Obviously this means push out as much crap as possible so that there is always a constant flow of revenue. Just look at ME for example. Once ME 1 released there was 1 patch and still to this day has issues but ME2 was slated for release so why invest in ME1 anymore.

Once ME3 was starting to be marketed ME2 DLC vanished.

Bioware's MO since EA buyout is:

Release game.
Ignore
Release game.
Ignore

Rinse/Repeat.

The problem with this business model is to trade brand loyalty for a continous cash flow in the result, however that cash flow will decline very quickly since upset consumers will never become repeat consumers. I was thinking of buying Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning after I finished Mass Effect 3, but then I remembered that the game came from EA. So I am not going to buy that game anymore.

Yep. I was really looking forward to a paragon run after I beat ME3, but the whole thing has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I can't even consider playing ME right now.
Which really sucks because I LOVED 99% of the trilogy.

Yes. I can't see myself playing through it in the knowledge that every decision I make is futile. If there were to be DLC that rectified the ending, then maybe I could. At the moment, it is just too depressing a concept.

This is what saddens me, as the games made such a big impact on me.

Yes. I mean, if all of your choices all boil down to one of three endings that are virtually identical (all of which depress the heck out of me), what's the point of going through 100+ hours of the story?

There is no point in going with another playthrough, the ending is still the same. Sure we all knew that "defeating the reapers" were the top priority of the game. But the fact that you need a higher EMS to choose from the 3 endings is just pure bull if you ask me.

Im not sure how much EMS you really need and what ending gives what but..
Lets say you have 1000 EMS as you go to "take back earth", then you can only choose ONE of the three endings.. So you can basically rush through the main story and finish the game.

But what about the first two games which we grew to love? The choices you make have no meaning at all. And THAT is what we wanted! And yeah yeah "DERP DERP The choices you make have an impact DURING the game DERP DERP!" To that I say OF COURSE they do, but It doesn't matter who you bring, as long as you bring enough.

So why would we want to finish the game again? Theres just no point unless they fix the ending.

Kind of.

On one hand, you still have some awesome action sequences, you still have some choices that play off sooner than the ending (whether to let the Council die in ME1, for example).

But most of the choices and story build up to the ending, and anything that builds up to the ending is marred by the awful ending.

I think it's more like it will take a while for many people, myself included, to get a stomach for another go at the game.

Nah, I'll replay the games.
I'll just ALT+F4 just before the starchild appears and make up my own ending, without plotholes and contradictions.

Nah, but it's still a damn shame they ruined the ending.

Like Anderson's cut dialog said
"You ever wonder... how things would've been different? How our lives would be different if this... hadn't happen."

If only the endings would make sense and had basic epilogue.
