What he said. It might seem silly when i've saved my credits for three weeks, considering i could have spent them to play normally for the sake of fun, but how the heck could we possibly know they'd be this slow to fix this issue? Minor updates every now and then could save us from headaches like this.

I think you two are being overly paranoid. If Bioware did something like that, this late in the game, they'd be causing more trouble than it's worth. That was a valid concern by maybe the 1st week, but at this point they'd just be inciting more rage and anger if they just did a huge rollback on everyone.

This late in the day, with no updates on the situation at all since this all began... I think that's done as much damage as the initial bug itself.  Does anyone have a rock solid level of confidence that they're still looking into this considering Bioware either can't or won't provide even the smallest level of communication on the issue?  And considering they're the only ones who know what the solution is and aren't speaking, well can you blame folks for jumping to conclusions?  Sure it's not wise to do, but in the absence of any official word, people are going to come up with their own theories.  It's just how people work.  And it didn't need to turn out this way sadly.  Ignoring customers who feel they have a legitimate concern comes at a price eventually.  They stop being customers, period.

Personally I'm still mildly hopeful even at this point, but I truly wouldn't be surprised if this isn't ever addressed.  Not anymore, which is the really disappointing part, considering this is Bioware we're talking about.

Still hopeful, although I haven't played singleplayer or multiplayer since the bug wiped my slate clean.
I keep logging on every few days only to find myself disappointed still. Get my stuff back and I might consider playing this amazing game again. It's just hard to want to play something when the dev's have such horrible customer service. Just respond If you are even trying to fix the issue, and keep us updated. Not hard to do; "Status report: Didn't make much headway today, but we have 30 experienced technicians working 24/7 to try and make you forget our mistake."

BioWare, do you realize how many customers you are losing? Have the you seen the discounts on your game already? It's due to your lack of support and terrible PR. Congratulations on losing another paying customer.

How can BW still expect us to pay for packs when you run the risk of losing everything without compensation? I would not be surprised if many people like me decided to never buy points again.

I am of the demographic that works full time with children, willing to use money to supplument my grind time. This is completely unacceptable.

By not spending real money, at least I can say to myself "at least I didn't lose any real money" to myself.

So, it's been 29 days now since the release of this game, and 28 days since I lost my 800 BioWare points and all that. I STILL haven't unlocked my Krogan Sentinel again, and while I did get my Widow back, this is unacceptable. A month. It has been a month since this has happened. You fixed the primary issue and this is good, but a whole month has gone by and you haven't reimbursed people yet. Your last communication regarding the issue is 18 days old.

This is unacceptable.

Happened to me again today... 2 premium spectre packs, took my BW points and gave me nothing. Who do we contact about this?

Are you absolutely sure it gave you nothing?
My friend often gets disconnected from multiplayer and it seems that his purchase fails (with ingame credits), and after he relogs his money is gone.
It took us some time to realize that the purchase actually went through, we just didn't see what he got.

And unless you end up getting something new, so that you can see it blinking "NEW". The only way to really notice it is if you check your equipment numbers (medigels, rockets, clips, survival packs) and see if they have changed. Chances are you got nothing new, just an upgrade for something you have already unlocked or a character card.

First of all pack purchases failing has nothing to do with this thread. This thread is about people coming back to game with only starting gear and human characters. This happened to me some 20+ days ago. I didn't want to stop playing then and a chat with an EA customer support said that I get to keep my unlocks that I get while playing with my starter gear. At this point I have 600+ n7 rating and much better gear than I did when I lost all so I don't care that much. I would just like my 800 BW points back.

And at least in my experience when the purchase fails due to connection issues (I guess) I still get the upgrades, I just don't see what I got. I gotta look through my gear to find what I got.

Besides if one purchase fails, restart the game. Don't just spam your credits to a failing system.

Would it be possible for one of the Bioware guys/gals to give us an update on what you're planning to do?

actually it does have somthing to do with this, when they fixed the issue of people losing there stuff randomly the store bug opened its feral head, so we went from one way of losing our stuff to another it, i mean come on bioware this is getting really irritating the only reason i still play is becuase theres not much else released recently that i want to play but ...... i do beleave diablo is coming soon just to name one game

I wasn't exactly proposing the possibility of a true 'rollback'.... however, you do have a point.  In 2 days some people will have lost money exactly a month ago, and after half a dozen "very tempting offer to buy/advance in this game" moments.  It would be patently unfair to them to say they're S.O.L. because they couldn't sit on their hands for a month.  So I think I'll jump on the conclusion that almost everyone else has, and use this premium pack moment to hopefully put my stinking-rich-for-the-time-being advantage to good use.  I was biting my lip about that premium vet pack, and was dismayed when it disappeared with no warning/countdown.  Hopefully this one's worth it too.

Here goes nothing, wish me luck... hmm, lets see about setting myself up to record just incase I get bug-mugged again.

Happened to me today. I bought a Spectre pack, and it said it can't be completed. I was not queued up for a match. Just sitting in the screen when you first click on multiplayer from the main menu. The credits got reset back to before the purchase. However, if you restart the game, the credits are lost.

So I emailed EA's support and asked them to either give me my missing items or give me the credits that the multiplayer store. I've lost roughly 200,000 credits, so that's what I asked for.

So right now we have had:

1) Full profile reset, losing everything, often large amounts of time and lots of real world money - no word for three weeks, no sign of a fix or restore.

2) Credit/purchase/level rollbacks, people can lose up to an entire day's progress depending on the rollback - No acknowledgement yet, no signs of a fix or restore.

3) Negative stat points after a promote, causing inability to put stat points into a class after promotion - No acknowledgement yet, no signs of a fix or restore.

4) Commendation/Victory packs not showing up for Goliath weekend despite having had tracking on and completing several Silver+ Reaper runs - Acknowledged, told it would eventually come.

In each of those four we have a loss of player time, effort, and/or real world money (which BW/EA gets).

Then you have this, the one major MP bug that actually gives people stuff instead of wipes out man hours and money:

5) Commendation/Victory packs for Raptor weekend being reissued, thought to occur by innocuously creating new savegames in singleplayer after reimbursing packs - Immediate shut down of pack distribution, possible rollback/ban of people who got extra packs, told to wait.

So let me get this straight... any negative-to-users situation that comes from poor data integrity and client-server code is either left in the dark (and hopefully worked on in the shadows) or acknowledged and then subsequently left in the dark but the situation that is beneficial to users is immediately locked down and becomes a priority rush job because some people might get more stuff than intended.

It makes sense. After all, getting a bunch of extra packs may cut BW/EA out of real money purchases that may get rolled back or reset while ya'll keep the money and don't say anything about what's going on with the reimbursement for months (or if ever). I mean, it's definitely a much larger problem that cutting off people who may or may not have ever given money to BW/EA for packs would suddenly stop because they got a bunch of freebies from a broken system than reimbursing or helping the people that already gave you their money and had it effectively stolen back from the same broken system.

I just... words fail me.

This.

Also...
soon   [soon]  adverb, -er, -est. 1. within a short period after this or that time, event, etc.: We shall know soon after he calls. 2. before long; in the near future; at an early date: Let's leave soon. 3. promptly or quickly: He came as soon as he could. 4. readily or willingly: I would as soon walk as ride. 5. early in a period of time; before the time specified is much advanced: soon at night; soon in the evening.

I know some of these could be subjectively applied, but I'm almost certain 19 days isn't soon.

I purchased 4200 Bioware points aproxx. 4 weeks ago (march 6th and 12th), from which i used 600 to purchase DLC and the rest, which is 3600 used on 22 spectre packs and one veteran. On march 13th i lost all my items, because of your bug. So i spend 31,37 Euro (3600 Bioware points) for nothing received. Please Bioware, make this right and return the bioware points or 22 spectre packs (3520 points) and one veteran pack (80 points). Thank you.

Not true, when an error occurs either you get credits back.

When this does not happen you will get your items after a check for outstanding purchases. You probably did not notice the new items.
