To think that plot hole-ridden ending was actually meant to be taken at face value now completely boggles my mind.
Nonetheless, well written, atghunter.

I saw a Forbes post that annoyed me. Said they were conducting an interview and he was going to address the ending, but then it was all "OH BUT DON'T WORRY ABOUT THAT BCUZ THERE'S GONNA BE A MASS EFFECT MOVIE! YAAAY"

Heh, even if the protests quiet down a bit, do they really think the asian market is going to take this any differently? They might not mind a tragic end (tragic endings are quite a proud tradition in many japanese/chinese works) but they certainly will not accept this bs. I'll bet you my shoes in about 3-4 days we will have a new influx of protesters.
From one of my Japanese friend regarding the ending: what? WTF is this **it ? ( oh well, not literally, but close

I was just waiting to say I bet someone at EA/Bioware makes a comment tonight, but I honestly thought it was a week early and would happen next Friday.

You know what is funny? Another PR tool that I know is completely factual is to respond to a criticism or complicated issue on a Friday late afternoon when the news cycle is at it's slowest, and the stock markets are closed. Companies hope the weekend of busy partying fun makes the issue disappear, and fickle masses forget, and they also hope the shareholders are forgetful come Monday morning.

A response that basically said nothing, but is intended to satisfy angry fans.

So if Casey's making a statement now, does that mean BioWare is feeling further pressure?

Reading the comments, looks like a lot of people aren't buying it.

Hudson's response tonight addressed nothing; answered nothing and deflected the criticism into "We got great reviews in the NY Times".

Something is very, very wrong here. At this point, I have accepted the endings they gave us and I do not feel they will change. But whoever wrote them needs to know the endings are bad and they should feel bad for writing them, and everyone who chimed in with the "yeah that's sweet" need to know that they were enablers for mediocrity.
I don't even want an ending at this point, honestly. All I want is a god damned apology. I don't want one that says "we're sorry you didn't enjoy our endings." No, screw that. That puts the blame on us, as if it's our fault for not liking them. These writers and developers need to own up to their mistakes. The apology should be "we are very sorry that we were unable to deliver the endings that we promised, which would have suited and concluded this most unprecedented expedition through space soundly and appropriately."
