Protip from a history major - There were more then 300 Spartans at the pass ;)

What ever, only 300 of them were buff looking guys with the ability to slow time. The rest were peons who brought them cookies and beer. Yes they were so tough they ate cookies and beer..........at the same time.

ps I don't really care if they had beer back then, surely they had cookies though?

Bioware say they planned the whole series ahead of the time. I buy that, it's called planning, and in the corporate world, that's a rare quality now days. Planning a series ahead of the time is a risk, but a, if I may use the word, honourable one. With quick cash being the law of the corporate land now days, planning and vision for the future on each of its product shows a level of grandeur. It's an expression of intelligence.

What this whole "bad ending" thing shows however, is an immediate retreat into the familiar coporate rules whenever **** hits the fan. Or fans in this case. I was just reading this opinion piece http://www.nytimes.c...dman-sachs.html yesterday and man, what the guy describes fits just about every company out there today, bioware included.

I hate to bring this up with a political tone but seriously, it's not evil, but it's still sick to learn (or re-learn in my case, I'm in the finance sectore) how impersonal the world's getting.

Do we know what there office phone number is? We could organize to flood there office with phone calls demanding a new ending all on the same day.
Or we could do the letter campange and demand that they give us our money back for all three game and the five years we spent playing them.
Where to send:

I'm going to go all inspirational, now, with a quote from Firefly, for whenever anyone feels like they're too tired to carry on...

When you can't walk, you can crawl. And, when you can't crawl... there'll be someone to carry you.

Thank you I needed that :) Was really low for the last day after Hudson's comment.

Take my love.
Take my land.
Take me where I cannot stand.
I don't care,
I'm still free.
You can't take the sky from me.

Take me out to the black.
Tell 'em I ain't comin' back.
Burn the land
And boil the sea.
You can't take the sky from me.

Have no place I can be
Since I found Serenity.
But you can't take the sky from me.

.....you can't stop the signal. Hold the line!

Jayne!
The man they call Jayne!
He robbed from the rich and he gave to the poor.
He stood  up to the man and gave him what for.
Our love for him now, aint hard to explain,
the hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne!

Sorry, could not resist.  :)

That said I am still holding the line. . .

One margarita at a time!

jayme your mouth is talking you might want to look into that

Fellow Browncoats! :D Hold then line!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves! There's still a long way to go, but yeah, we should absolutely be proud of what we've achieved so far. Now, we keep it together, keep it civil, and not let our resolve falter.

And even though I don't drink, cheers to all!

I can't believe some of you are happy about damaging a game just because of an ending, when the rest of the game is downright enjoyable. Already been replaying it myself. *waits for the 'you're so wrong' vitriol..*

Enjoy the game, what I do or don't do shouldn't really be bothering you if you're already having fun. I on the otherhand haven't touched my game since I saw the endings and I have no intention to either. If more refuse to play the game than changes might happen, but for the most part you should be relatively uneffected since you're satisfied with what you got even if changes do come.

My friend is starting an ME2 playthrough without her boyfriend so she can play at her own pace (faster than him). She is intending to carry on with ME3. As much as I want to save her the heartache, I want her to be able to make her own informed decisions without my influence (even though I got her into ME1 and 2 in the first place). I think she has a vague idea of the storm surrounding this ending, but still wants to see it through. Time to sit back and wait. Maybe by the time she gets around to ME3's ending something will have come of all of this. Fingers crossed.

Any chance of getting a camera on her so you can catch her reaction at the ending?  A lot of the "ending response" videos I've seen have been forced, I'd like a video of someone unaware just to see.  I know I furrowed my brow and let out a "that was it?".

There are 70 extra pages in this thread since I last read it, so apologies in advance if this has already been discussed.

If the ending is as it's meant to be and Bioware is satisfied with it, why haven't they released any kind of FAQ to answer fan questions?

Why not provide some explanations around the thought process and gameplay development. (for example, "Q: Why does the gun have unlimited ammo?" "A:It is just a gameplay mechanic to ensure that Shepard can kill the last enemies without worrying about running out of clips.")

From a PR stance would it really be more harmful to provide an insiders look, than to say nothing?

It could be, yes. I think it is just as OP said, they're weighing all of their options right now. They don't want to do something rash.

I support this movement completely. I'm behind the change in endings, although I tend to side heavily with the indoctrination theory, it sums everything up nicely IMHO. However saying this is the first time we will have changed a game is false. Please think back to Fallout 3, Bethesda had to make Broken Steel to placate the plotholes that abounded in their end. Why couldn't we send our Super Mutant into the room? That DLC sold like a hot cake because it made more sense. Could happen again here. I'll hold the line until we see a difference.

I can't believe you think WE damaged the game.
That ABOMINATION of an ending damaged ME3, not us.

heck mam, I can answer that one for ya!

Ever notice how at the very beginning of the game you had a full clip then suddenly, without shooting or anything it was empty right before the locked door the creepy kid ran into?  Well through space magic we pulled all that ammo and gave it to you at the very end.

I did, it's nice to see this go mainstream. If this keeps up I don't know how Bioware could justify too EA and their PR to not update the ending.
