Mass Effect portion starts at the 4 min mark

Did anyone else catch the part where he said he thought it sounded like the developers are going to release DLC to fix this ending?  Looks like all that ambiguous talk from BioWare is starting to get turned back on them.

If we are a group, we need theme music.

I nominate this.

The moderator of the Facebook page just posted ideas on how to move forward with the campaign.

Many people have been asking what the next step is going to be. There are several things planned long term, but in the short term the following is going to be done:

1. An official web site is going to be created by volunteers from the movement in order to provide a place to organize, coordinate, and communicate more efficiently.

2. We are going to continue to spread the word with a focus on media attention. I've been in contact with a few media personalities that are interested in spreading the word about the Retake movement.

3. We are going to continue recruiting our fellow Mass Effect fans that are yet to finish the game, and suffer through the ending.

4. We are going to give Bioware a little more time to respond to us directly. ME3 has been out for less than two weeks, we need to give them time to realize we aren't going away.

5. We are working on ideas to support the movement at PAX East. More details will be coming soon.

6. We hope to organize Retake supporters various ideas for shirts, bracelets, posters, fliers, and other items into a single online store to support the movement.

7. More is in the works, and further details will be provided soon!

8. We are going to HOLD THE LINE!

I'm wondering if Marauder Shields clotheswear (hoodies, in particular) will eventually be available. Would like to order. Part of the proceeds could go to Child's Play, and the sacrifice of Marauder Shields and his noble attempt will be made into legend.

I second this, I'd absolutely buy a shirt that honors the heroic sacrifice of Marauder Shields.

I just read all the OP and will continue to follow, i didn't realise how the numbers have grown since i got the game on the 9th. Ive stopped playing it

Fear of the ending which i don't know what they are about but im told it could upset me tot he point of breaking my console.
the Importing save issue put me off the game.
the co op is weak it okay if you just want relax time but it will die pretty quickly because the replay value of co op is not rewarding enough.
I did see the weekend PR stunt though and it just made me upset that they try to bribe us

I was thinking Take It Back by Miracle of Sound.  He's stated support for the movement before, and I think he might not mind, provided we ask him first.

Just out of curiosity, is it reasonable to expect there won't be much further word from Bioware until monday? Or are the lights in the corporate bunker going to be burning all weekend long?

I think it is safe to say that there won't be any official postings until Monday at the earliest.  Maybe there will be BW employees here or there posting in threads, but there won't be anything meaningful until then.

atghunter didn't seem to think it was a bad idea if people needed to take a brief respite from the forums.  Ideally we'll come roaring back on Monday and BW damage control won't know what hit them.

Also, I'm about to go to bed, so someone who's going to be up needs to pledge to be on troll control duty.  Every time you see one in any thread, just quote them and say, "That's great!  Was there anything you did like about the Retake Mass Effect movement?"  Only do this to the rude ones, though.  The ones that want to talk, talk to them, engage them, even if they don't agree with us, they love Mass Effect just the same.

There has not been any new information released.  You can be hopeful, but don't let it weaken your hold on the line.  This is the kind of PR stunt atghunter warned us about.

No, no, not me.  In the news clip, it seemed that the journalist reporting on the situation seemed to be of the mind that the developers could be releasing ending DLC.  I'm not getting my hopes up until BioWare issues an official statement saying "There will be DLC that will fix the endings."

I personally think the most important weapon we have against Bioware right now is the new DLC (assuming the next DLC does not fix the ending). The DLC sales will be the proving ground for whether the movement means anything. Since this forum is still a small minority of all the people who bought ME3, we can still be dismissed as only that: a vocal minority. However, if they see real numbers drop with the next DLC, they will know how big of an impact is made, and consider trying to address the problem.

I can't believe some of you are happy about damaging a game just because of an ending, when the rest of the game is downright enjoyable. Already been replaying it myself. *waits for the 'you're so wrong' vitriol..*

In my opinion, the reason the ending is so upsetting is because the rest of the game is so good. I don't think I've seen a single person saying the entire game sucked. Just that the ending sucked, and the ending sucked a lot of enjoyment out of the rest of the game.

So I have to admit I was a bit put off by some of the militant tone put forward in this thread at first, but since business is war (in a way) I guess it makes sense. What I don't understand is some of the accusations that BioWare lied to their fans and consumers. Sure, I get that the endings were bad, I'm still in shock myself, but they did not outright lie about what they were going to deliver. We received multiple choices (poorly explained and awkwardly similar, perhaps) and Shepard ended up saving Earth. Beyond that, I don't think it's wise to condemn BioWare for lying or to make it one of the rallying points of the Retake ME cause.

Other than that, well, I never thought I'd say this, but... Hold the Line?

Aye, I'm out for the night, recharge the ol' batteries and all that, tip tip, what what. /overt Englishness

I'd say that I'll continue to hold the line in bed, but that would just make me titter like a 9 year old.

Hold that line for dear smeggin' life!
