We should have listened, he was just trying to save us from the ending...
Friends, don't let your resolution flag, hopefully there are some night-owls that will keep vigilant watch while we sleep. Tomorrow's another day, we can gather our strength, and unleash it full-force come Monday.
Hold the line, because I want to be able to tell my children about these games one day, I want to be able to share all the love I have for the characters and the setting, and I want to be able to say that my Shepard got the ending he deserves.

I can imagine EA asking bioware some really hard questions right now. At least I hope so.

I don't know. I have a feeling EA told them to write a vauge, non-resolute ending to keep the series open to DLC exploitation.
Someone draw a cartoon of a Bioware exec and an EA exec milking Shepard's nipples into a bucket labeled "DLC".

I would love to see a response from Bioware which does more than simply deflect. I want to hear an honest explanation of the endings that were included, and what Bioware (and particularly Casey Hudson) intended to communicate with the original endings. Even more, I'd love to see a patch that extends, modifies, or replaces the end sequence of ME3 to better fit the rest of the franchise.
I played ME1 over a dozen times. I have all the achievements both on the PC and the XBox. I've played ME2 four times and never lost a soul on the suicide mission. I cannot see myself ever playing ME3 again with the current ending in place. Why would I care whether the genophage is cured or whether the Quarians recapture their homeworld when I know it is all nullified by an arbitrary and ridiculous ending?
Take Earth Back, they said in the trailers. Thats funny, because taking Earth back simply isnt an option in the Mass Effect 3 they shipped.

This is an excellent thread. I'm a huge Bioware fan, I've purchased every game they've ever developed (yes, including that Sonic RPG for the Nintendo DS), sometimes for multiple platforms. I loved the series, and I was in love with ME3 right until the end. I still enjoy multiplayer, but as I read this thread, I realize that I can support the movement by no longer playing ME3 multiplayer.

The reason I'm not supporting it: I just don't care anymore.
I'm posting on these forums more often simply out of the enjoyment of helping people rather than the enjoyment of the actual game. So why don't I care?
After Dragon Age II and Mass Effect 3, I'm much more interested in games coming from developers who take their time (Blizzard - Diablo III) and make sure that they release games that are top-notch. Don't get me wrong, I'm still playing the MP portion of the game, but I've come to the realization that I will no longer buy Bioware games unless they're praised as the most amazing game ever by both users and critics.
The only way that I'd let a developer get away with problems in a game is if they're bug related and the game was not beta tested. An example of this is Skyrim, it is immensely popular and has a huge fanbase. There was a bit of an uproar with the multitude of bugs in the first few patches, but because the game itself is amazing, people were willing to wait and cut the developer some slack.
See a trend? I'm not sure if its something that most gamers would agree on, but I suspect it may be. We're willing to wait if the content is absolutely amazing. That said, I hope that Bioware considers what the community is saying and takes its time revisiting the endings if they decide to. There would be nothing worse than if they rush out the DLC to placate people and its content is anything less than a legendary end to the Mass Effect series.
To Bioware:
If you take your time and come out with a DLC that gives the community a fitting ending, I'd be willing to come back to the fold. However, if you do so, make sure you take your time and do things right, otherwise you'll find a few more fans taking my position and giving up on the company altogether.
Last but not least,
Listen to the community members that are trying to organize this movement. Be wary of enemies posing as friends, and keep your message going no matter what the other side says. Bioware has your message and knows what you want, keep repeating that point in order to put pressure on them via the socio-economic reaper that we call a civilized economy. If you let them placate you, you have effectively lost. When they realize that your movement is causing die-hard fans such as myself to realize that they simply don't care about Bioware's games anymore, they'll do something about it. Granted, it may not be what you want them to do, but they'll do something.

"This story arc is coming to an end with this game. That means the
endings can be a lot more different. At this point we're taking into
account so many decisions that you've made as a player and reflecting a
lot of that stuff. It's not even in any way like the traditional game
endings, where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got
ending A, B, or C."

I loved 99% of Mass Effect 3, and I implore EA/Bioware to reconsider how they choose to end this epic space saga, to give closure for the fans, to give us a wide range of endings that reflect our choices and the repurcussions of those actions, like they promised, not simply ending forcing options A, B or C on us.

The same holds true here as in every negotiation. There are trained PR
people at work here. They are experts in double talk, delaying action and
deception here. I cannot speak in PR stuff here, but as a former
military I can say you this (and the PR guy from the first post will most
likely agree):
The only viable strategy for you guys is doing
exactly what the other side cannot handle: Keep the pressure up! DON'T fall in
line, don't respond to false offers of peace.
The strategic position is this. On your side you
have a vast military but still rather disorganized. On the other hand you have
a very well trained and organized but outnumbered army.
The other side is currently in the following
position: They are attacked on all fronts but still mostly disorganized so
they, being better trained, have been able to mostly hold the line for now.
They are also most likely experiencing the first signs of sales losses, of dropping
multiplayer counts and they have predictions on their tables of dropping DLC
sales. In military terms: They are experiencing attrition effects, they have
supply problems. The only viable strategy in that situation is: Keep your
forces together, make only very thought through moves, do as many delaying and
distracting moves as possible, because that's the only thing where you still
have the advantage: The enemy is unorganized and cannot yet strike as an
organized whole. If that were the case... bye, bye.
So what you guys have to do now is use YOUR
advantages and exploit their weaknesses. That means: Keep the pressure up and
increase it. Organize, do organized large scale strikes. They have NO way to
defend against those. The more organized you become, the more they will be able
to feel your numbers. They cannot defend against a full-blown strike. They can
only delay you and try to disrupt you. If you don't let them do that, you'll
win outright.
So the best way to achieve this is to organize
loud protests, organized, and well thought through. Also don't ever respond
positively to ANYTHING but your initial demands. Don't even think about
responding to "maybe"s or "let's talk"s. What you want is a
full surrender; NOTHING else. DON'T stop before they bow down and literally
talk to you on YOUR terms. YOU are the customers. Use that. This also means:
DON'T play the game, DON'T buy and DLCs unless they are EXACTLY what you want.
They will feel the dropping numbers, they have Origin. Many people didn't like
Origin, but now it is YOUR weapon. Don't play and the WILL see that. They do
have the statistics. The fewer people order anything, the fewer people use
origin the heavier you are threatening their supply lines.
Kill their supply lines while holding up the
pressure and you WILL win this. But DON'T ever give in. YOU have the upper
hand, DON'T let them take that away from you.
Also never become angry or uncivil, because that
is another one of their strategies. If you become an angry mob, they will be
able to sell you as such, gathering allies. You don't want them to be able to
do that. Think of this as a war between a rebel force with huge numbers and the
loyalist army of the head of state. If the head of state manages to picture you
in public opinion as an angry mob, as terrorists or whatever, they might be
getting help by powerful allies (read: the press). If however you remain civil,
fight a gallant war and voice your concerns in a reasonable way, then YOU might
be getting help and in the end the UN might intervene on your behalf (read
again: the press will force them to give in or lose a ****load of money).
Keep this up people. Don't take the pressure of.
The minute you do, they have won.
Edit: To Bioware:
Don't take this the wrong way. I truly love you
guys and I'm a huge fan. But this thing just won't fly. What you did here was
just bad judgment and I think the best way for you to handle this is to fix
this ASAP and maybe make some money with it (although if I were you, I'd be
real careful with that one).
You have achieved something here that is really
incredible. You should actually be proud of yourselves to some degree. If you
hadn't done a whole lot of things right, people wouldn't be here complaining.
They would sit at home and say "Who gives a sh*t!?"You have created a
franchise that is so wonderful and so loved that people actually DO care. All
you have to do now is make you that stays that way. And that will not be
achieved by PR bullsh*t by the books. It will be achieved by showing them that
this industry is not just about money and about sales counts and quarterly
reports but that it is still about wanting to give people a great time and
about making people happy with your creations.
Sorry I have to be against you guys this time. But
see it like this... this entire army that is kicking your nuts right now... if
you play things right you'll have all of them behind you, whenever you need
them, in the next war.
I'm really hoping this war will end in a way that
benefits both sides in the end.
So long...
Awesome post!!!
To: BioWare I love you and supported you even when you disappointed me with DA2. Saying this is an one time event as I believe you really care about your fans and customers opinion
I still love you even thought you once again let me down with a horrible ending of Mass Effect 3. That is why this will hurt, but enough is enough I have to make a stand as the poster above stated. I have canceled my SWTOR subscription and will not be renewing or buying anything else from you until you have fixed the ending to mass effect 3.
I am not sure you care about your fan's opinions anymore, but I hope my faith in you can be restored. Until then thanks for the long and wonderful ride going back as far as Baldur's Gate. I will miss your games.
Sincerely
Keladis
PS dont think this means I am going to go away, because I am going to be here fighting to try and see your return to glory.

Feeling more than a little depressed at this point. Largely because the OP is quite correct, and the PR stunts being pulled are just hunkering down to let the storm blow over. I fear that we will never see our concerns addressed.
