I'm off to play The Witcher 2. Maybe Skyrim. At least CDProject Red and Bethesda treat us right.

And tonight Casey Hudson responded precisely as atghunter predicted.
For us and for you, Mass Effect 3 had to live up to a lot of expectations, not only for a great gaming experience, but for a resolution to the countless storylines and decisions you’ve made as a player since the journey began in 2007. So we designed Mass Effect 3 to be a series of endings to key plots and storylines, each culminating in scenes that show you the consequences of your actions.
Here's a somewhat edited version of something I said elsewhere:
That's a good point, and you did very well in that regard Bioware.
It's just a shame the actual ending was so out of left field and unsatisfying.
Mass Effect 3 was a tenderly crafted love letter to the franchise... right up until the last five minutes.
What they did was create something so bad that it made the entire series less than the sum of it's parts. I loved the game up until that point, sure it had occasionally cringeworthy writing, but only occasionally (and with so much dialogue, that'd be hard to avoid), and I thought I saw a few plotholes looming and then the ending came. And it was terrible. I was defending you throughout the process Bioware, trusting that you'd pull it off somehow but the ending left me so... empty (and later mad) that I won't be doing that anymore.
I'm not mad anymore though, just disappointed.

I have enjoyed the rest of the game, all three of them, that is why I too felt betrayed. If the end of the journey nullifies the journey, was the journey then worth it?
same here how i am suppose to enjoy the journey when i know its going to hell???
its such a shame to have endings like that to this great trilogy
Never in my life i was so disappointed with the endings be it a movie game or book hell i liked fallout 3
HOLD THE LINE

HOLD THE LINE
Fallout 3 gave the ending a purpose, showed you the cause and effect, even if it was one (two, if you didn't step up) endings. A hero.
This? Just, no. I would not care so much if I did not care so much for the rest of it.
Hold the line.

You're not wrong, it is harsh... but there really is no other way to fix it. Do you think a company that just counts dollars is going to take you seriously because "This didn't fit the philosophy of the the rest of the game?". We are consumers, we didn't like what we consumed so... here we are. The movie analogy is also a good one... the ending of a movie is what you walk out remembering, you can reflect on how awesome the middle part was but the ending colors your entire view of the movie and might make you not even want to see it again.
This is what's happened.
The movie would be especially memorable if it were the concluding installment in a trilogy where the main story is about the ancient war between opposing factions of giant robots to suddenly revealing that the robots are fighting to prevent humans from creating genetically altered apes who will rise and kill humans.

Let it not be said we went quietly into the night. Let's not lose hope, and carry the fight over the top and through the breach. No longer hold the line Ladies and Gentlemen. As a great general once said to a bunch of wet behind the ears Cadets and officers.
"Now there's another thing I want you to remember. I don't want to get any messages saying that "we are holding our position." We're not holding anything. Let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly and we're not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy. We're going to hold onto him by the nose and we're going to kick him in the ass. We're going to kick the hell out of him all the time and we're going to go through him like crap through a goose!" -General George S. Patton, Commanding officer, Third Army Group, United States Army
So like that crazy old bastard. Advance and keep advancing!

Truth be told, most games have terrible stories but are played for the gameplay. Bioware games are the opposite, we play them for the story, and in this case the story is broken.
