It's funny, gaming press is pro bioware and more mainstream things are like "why you no like your fans"? Guess we know where the PR money is flowing....

Yeah, I thought mentioning Penny Arcade was a cheap throwaway.  BioWare HIRED them to do Dragon Age stuff, why should we believe that they are going to view things objectively when they are or have been on your payroll?  Same reason I treat all Game Informer articles with a grain of salt: they're owned by GameStop.

If I remember correct gameinformer trashed dragon age 2. Well, as much as one of those magazines can....

We need to switch up the debate a bit now I think....We need to be pro-active again..........
we made polls showcasing our thoughts on the end game..now we switch gears.
We need to start addressing constructively what we will accept. Polls like..

If Bioware Is Willing To Add To The End Game of Mass Effect Would you be willing to pay for DLC/Patch?
Yes
No
Unsure

If Bioware Fails to Offer An Ending DLC/Patch For ME3 Will You Still purchase EA/Bioware Products ?
Yes
No
Wait And See-No Pre-Orders

And the like...

They gave it an 8.5 or something like that.  The reviews are honestly all over the place, but usually if a game is totally broken, they'll give it a low score, but I rarely see anything below 4.  It's the preview section I take with a grain of salt, because GameStop wants people to preorder those upcoming titles with them.  It's one of the two things they track aside from sales.  The other is Game Informer subscriptions.

The Final Hours app really destroyed his credibility.  Considering he said things to the press that were a direct contravention to what his team had already come up with, I don't blame anyone for not believing him.

So it seems Bioware and EA are focusing on PR damage control. But that seems to me like just running away from the real problem if they are waiting for things to blow over. That does not generate any value to the corporate or the fans (customers), as the problem remains unsolved and the goodwill of the customers remain damaged or lost. It may even make the problem worse once the customers realize they aren't going to do anything.

And following from OP, it seems to be there are money to be made from 'fixing' the problem that doesn't equate to changing the current ending. It could be something like additional ending(s) for the fans who want that. This way, a lot of people will get what they want and be happier, the fans get the ending(s) they want, the corporate makes money from the fix and restore some goodwill or even more from having the courage to own up to their mistake. And in my opinion, they stand a chance to make more money from the fix while the issue is still hot. If they wait too long, it might be too late since some people will move on to other things already.

Just my 2 cents.

I wonder if they have any regrets that said App had gone live. Since it isn't "truly" a Bioware release.

Again guys, I want ot reiterate my point. I don't think an additional/changed ending made under duress is a good thing.

I noticed allot of this with out the benefit of professional experience. This is the value of the internet, the information and therefore the power is in the hands of the people, and in this case consumers. On a side note, I do believe prices have already begun to fall in some places likely as a result of an overabundance of games being resold, as well as a plethora of bad reviews Amazon. The game is also being offered with a new copy of "Arkham asylum included at a discount.

Pretty effing brilliant. Those posts made me happier than the best parts of the game. Also, hopefully this also finally opened some peoples eyes on what really matters: MONEY. Not your fandom, not your feedback.

Ahhhhhh, smell the wondrous smells of diversionary PR tactics. Was gonna play some MP to dull the sting a bit, now I'm not.

I'm sure if they did, it was right after it leaked to the forums and it raged hard enough to enforce a lockdown.

They could have easily leaned on that producer or maker to delay. The fact that they didn't suggests they were either trying to ignore the outcry, hoping to weather it (see above) or they were genuinely hoping it would help quiet the anger.

It's eye opening just how much the games journalism industry is in the publishers pockets.

Yeah, judging by the reaction, I think they may need to build a Fallout style "Vault" to bunker down for a while.

Go ahead and charge us for an ending DLC then. I think most people are willing to spend 10 bucks to get the bad taste out of their mouth.
