I say let them release their first DLC that does not address the issues raised and compare DLC sales to game sales, then they may realise that these "passionate" fans are far more numerous than they care to admit.

needs to go on front page. by the way, I'm the first post on the suggestions page. anyone want me to add anything?

Already done.

what?

A link to this thread so people are more aware of this tactic and a link to http://social.biowar...5/index/9851623 because it is so comprehensive. I link to it too on the first page, but having our collected movement on the first reply would od wonders.

Oh wow, don't you just love the corporate side of things whenever **** hits the fan? Speaking of "The Insider", PR guy atghunter really gave the ignorant mass (me included) a insider's look at the dark sad truth: Bioware is (or been turned into) an overglorified gunk of impersonal corporate nastiness.

kuddos to OP too for reposting this. I will save the OP's post in case this thread gets harmonized (censored).

The whole mp event and this statement are just tactics to get the disgruntled fans to go quiet. This will allow sales to pick back up, let them spin doctor more and Possibly even get those fans to buy the coming pre-ending dlc such as omega.

If we want the ending to be addressed, then we must not give in.

I can't believe, as a guy who is majoring in marketing, anyone in marketing board thought this was a good idea... already BSN's action shows you that most of the customers are unsatisfied and rather 'mad' with the product. What does that mean? crap load of damage to company's image.... this happens when you have non-gamer as a Marketing director. Seems like Casey is taking product driven method while taking market driven method... I don't think he realizes that "most passionate fans" are the one who backed this game up and made this game to top sci-fi game within 5 years.

Not to mention the passionate fans are the ones who buy DLC.

This seems to be moving awfully fast here. Already we've got a new thread right after Casey's statement that wants people to address how BioWare could fix the endings.

And the ones who, through word-of-mouth recommendations, expanded the game's reach to friends, co-workers, and family members.  There are so many girlfriends, boyfriends, spouses, mothers, fathers, etc. who never saw themselves as gamers, but decided to give the Mass Effect series a try due to the influence of a passionate fan.

Kudos to atghunter & op. This made my night. Makes one get all warm and fussy inside to see that the little guy can win when he has enough friends.

Sounds familiar, could have been the theme of some game...

as always, hold the line

This guy is smart and I agree with him 100% BUT we also need to be constructive if we want changes we need to organize our ideas of what those changes need to be also number one thing is hurt them in the WALLET not the ears calling them names and insults get us no where

I will add what I have been harping on for a while now: threatening to boycott a product or products not yet made doesn't necessarily mean much. These DLC or ME4 or others have not necessarily been produced yet so Bioware hasn't expended money on them yet. Threatening not to buy them won't cost Bioware profit since the logical marketing response is to simply not make them. Bioware will make something else, perhaps evaluating the situation and using focus groups and marketing studies (I have friends who've been doing this stuff for years) to see which new audience to seek out instead.

It might be useful to do other, visible things. A boycott of Goliath would have been nice, but it's much too divisive and dividing this movement is not a viable option. One person suggested changing your online avatar's name to reflect the movement, maybe adding "Hold The Line" or "Retake ME." This sounds like a reasonable alternative, since it will show numbers. Not ideal, though, since you're still using the faulty product although it might send the message that while you enjoy the game and therefore will pay to get it "fixed" you are still displeased (there's no getting around paying). Like I said, it'll be a show of numbers.

That being said, I defer to atghunter's superior knowledge of PR and I believe him when he says that the new tactics of  "review bombing" and keeping up negative press online is achieving wonders. That might be enough. Correction, seeing price drops online (they do seem to be real) it seems more than enough.

So we know one of their tactics is to trying to bump the forbes articles and others that dis the ending off of google....so a good counter offensive here would be to go search google and and click on those very articles! To google!
