Ever stop and wonder exactly WTF Bioware was thinking? I mean it blows my mind half the idiotic choices they chose to do with Mass Effect 3.

Holding the Line so that the geth can live, no one has to become part synthetic, and that the mass relays let the galaxy continue to grow!

Can we, somehow, change the name of the thread? Something to get people who otherwise would just complain about the endings to read this. Not something too flashy, of course, but like a rally calling.

...

So, what do you guys think?

I actually think the PR title works best.

It calls attention to what we as a movement really should be looking at most closely. EA and Bioware's PR stunt (AKA. Their bull**** tactics.)

I think it's important that we as a movement stay focused on those so that we can be aware of this movement's progress.

I'd disagree with any changes that do not include PR on the title.

Hold the line, people.

Honestly, that thread title does not even hint about a movement or any action contained herein. People usually end up here if they are curious about EA/Bioware statements, not to get involved with a feasible plan/movement to get our demands answered.

This thread would have a lot more hits otherwise.

I've seen a closed thread everytime I hit the refresh button for the past 10 minutes, surprisingly and immediately after this whole FB fiasco.

The closing of threads is getting ridiculous. It's not about a violation of the rules. The rules are just an excuse to shut down discussion about some real issues. It's all PR BS

Yeah there's a serious increase in locked threads. Trying to clean house before the suits take a peek in tomorrow morning after the weekend is my guess.

All the more reason for people to remain civil, focused, and firm in supplying their thoughts and feedback that Bioware is asking of us. And to leave out the emotion and anger etc.

Hold the Line.

DAMAGE CONTROL REQUIRED:

People are throwing their hands up across the BSN. Everyone get out there and placate them. This is obviously an extension of the same PR we heard on Friday. There has been no official stance handed down from Bioware because they haven't technically been working (though I'm sure they were). Everyone from here should be out in the wilds calming people down. This is a test we must weather if we are to be an effective movement!

Hold the Line

Precisely.  Keep calm and carry on as our English fleet might say.

This is just something the PR guys will rant about in their meeting tomorrow morning to the PB bot wrangler. :)

Stay Positive and Hold the Line!

So a bunch of threads about the "false" facebook message were deleted because bioware says it was adressed. but honestly I don't think I can trust them and closing threads about it instead of giving an actual response is not the best reaction

They're closing them on the technicality that people are not actually discussing the Story or campaign in those particular threads, apparently.

A crass move on their part to be honest. But still, they're technically, according to the rules, entitled to do it.

Don't let that take away your resolve though.

Hold the line.

With all the threads closing I have been reading the recent posts in this thread like the poster is whispering.

That only pisses more people off and makes them hold the line. :)

I have the same feeling to. I've seen 5 closed threads in the last 10 minutes :S.

The open letter to Jessica was hardly against Bioware.  They are attempting to prune the topics about the FB post down, but they're not closing all of them.  Just trying to herd people into one spot so that the forums aren't overrun with "BIOWARE SAID IT" threads.

If they wanted to claim that the facebook message debacle is adressed and over with then they should have delivered an official answer, otherwise in my opinion the discussion about the endings and Biowares response, official or non, are still up for discusion.

The thread closing is a bad reaction, they are buckling.

Don't give them an inch.

I hope BW understands that if they "let the storm blow over", it won't be a good thing for them. The "storm blowing over" will mean that the vast majority of BW's core, dedicated fanbase has stopped caring about the Mass Effect franchise and that they accept that BioWare betrayed and lied to them in such a shocking and blatant way. And they'll be vocal about it. Memes will be born (there are already half a dozen all over the internet) months down the line. BW will forever have a huge black stain on their reputation, with a huge chunk of formerly loyal, dedicated fans all deriding BW for the massive betrayal. I don't mean this as some kind of impassioned flame, threat, or insult. I'm just saying what is very, very likely to happen if BW tries to "let the storm blow over."

The storm is because people care. If the storm "blows over", then people have stopped caring, not about their grievances, but about the Mass Effect franchise and their former loyalty for and admiration of BW. A lot of that may turn into cynicism and vocal warning to save others from the same fate. And, really, would they be wrong in doing so?

In any compaign against the powers that be always follows the same progression

First, they ignore you, then they threaten you, then they attack you, and then you win.

because what ever sympathy they had from other sources, goes way because people don't like it when the group they are supporting attacks the underdog.

Time for me to sleep.

Good job to everyone out there holding the line. Keep it up. Inform your fellow players what is going on. Tell them how to deal with the PR tactics. Tell them to be vocal!

Until tomorrow.

This line will be held.

Part of me wants to make a Twitter so I can go all Emily Wong on them and ask very pointed questions, to make their obvious efforts to deflect the hard questions even more obvious. As Wrex would say, don't ****** in my ear and tell me it's raining.

I try to ignore that part of me, because it's usually far too combative. Though it may not be a bad idea to get more direct in our efforts. More action, less reaction. Or maybe more action, keeping reaction level....

Well, I've donated a dollar (I'm a poor college grad with no job atm), I've read the last few pages, and I'll put my two cents in. Don't know if this has been put forward as an idea earlier, but here it goes:

If you really want this movement to succeed (I use this term loosely as we all have a different idea of what would be successful and what is not), it would be best to basically appoint a group of people to speak out for the whole movement. I'm aware that there are currently several different "Hold the line" groups, one here, facebook, and across other gaming sites. If we can get solid leadership from all these groups who can cooperate with each other, we can be much more effective as a whole.

A smaller group who speaks for us as, in clear concise civil responses, would be much better then what's going on. I'm not going to say that they might actually be able to chat with the good folks at Bioware/EA, but if we gain real leadership, it would simply make us something that cannot be ignored.

In my opinion, I'd say we should get a group of 7-10 people (or we could go with 4:P ) elected from people on here to form a "council" and then they vote for a person among themselves (or from outside if they feel that person is a better choice) to lead the council.
