We don't care about them. They picked their side. Our objective should be the neutrals. They don't understand the movement or the FTC complaint. They see it as nothing more than us tying up courts. We were getting a positive reaction from neutrals before the FTC event. If this happens again we lose outside support.justlogme wrote...

He brought a great deal of negative PR on us. He might have had good intentions, but the fact he did this action while identifying with us selfish. This movement has been to try and get Bioware to cooperate, not force them into this ending.Zero.Gee wrote...

It's quite easy for people to associate anyone who doesn't like the ending with the cause.
Example: The idiotic FTC guy.
The fan who filed a complaint with the FTC had every right to do so. Its rude to say that the guy is idiotic because he felt the best way for his voice to be heard was to file an online complaint with the FTC. While we may not all agree with how someone else chooses to voice his or her opinions of the ending, its never good to ridicule them on how they choose to take a stand. Some of the press has even gone as far as to berate that fan for his actions; which doesn't paint them in a good light either.
Please remember people, be civil be polite and hold the line. We wont get very far otherwise.
Go to the Retake Facebook page and read his message. He makes it clear he did this for us. He shouldn't have.
Sorry but your wrong. even before his complaint, in fact as Soon as the charity was announced the major sites IGN etc already were spouting that we were self-entitled whiners.
If you do something good the sites somewhat aligned with bioware (who they get free games review and a occasional inside scoup from) will blast us.
Doing nothings remaining silent , not fighting for our rights just makes us sheeple and plays right into Biowares plan. Its easy to forget and bury the quite and the meek. Sad as it maybe the truth is the squeeky wheel gets the oil
If you want to go into a fight blind folded and with one arm tied behind your back to be nice and seem less threatening to the viewer you can, but chances are you will lose. (sure maybe a few more viewers will feel sorry for you but you will lose all the same.

Salyut, I'm trying to stop this from happening again. We can't take another hit like this.
I understand that, but filing a complaint like that is usually not a spur-of-the-moment thing. If someone is really determined to go the legal route, no amount of discussion will prevent that.
Most people here are against it, so anyone who was thinking about it and looking to the forums for feedback will probably refrain from filing a complaint. There's nothing more we can do at this point, so I think it's time to put this whole episode behind us. If we keep bringing it up, we're only breeding dissent while giving the media extra fuel to attack us.

Enough.
The FTC thing, although a bad move, is something that's happened nevertheless.
We can't change that.
And while some media have used this to try to paint us a bad rep the truth of the matter is this.
For every comment that's against us, there are three that defend us. The majority aren't satisfied with the ending and most of them, if not all, agree with what we're trying to do.
One of the large strenghts we have in this is something Mass Effect, heck Bioware, has teached us. If we stand together against a common cause, we can be one strong wall regardless of how different we are.
So don't worry, we're not planning on giving this up anytime soon.
I sure ain't.

Then you have already lost the war as you refused to fight for your rights. Weither its because you don't care if a major game studio that makes Millions of dollars freely gets away with lying to you with false advertisement I don't know , it is a bit sad though.

"Video games are an item that we purchase, a product. As a consumer buying a product I have the right to receive what I pay for based on how it's represented by the manufacturer (advertisement, etc.) and being free of manufacturing defects. As far as video games being art...you could say that housing contracters are artists as well, in that they also create (an interpretation of their vision). They "advertise" that house and make claims as to everything it comes with and can do. If that house fails to meet any of those claims through misrepresentation or manufacturing defects, you have the right to challenge it...but nobody will tell you that you're incorrectly acting entitled because this house is art. Point is, anything that could be considered art or artistic expression becomes a product once it is sold, and as a product is subject to customer approval."
I like what this guy says. this is a good point and one that should not be overlooked.

For whatever reasons, EMS or choices, you have failed in your mission to stop the reapers from destroying the universe, it happens. They won't be completely done for about 100 years so you have some time to do one of two things:
PARAGON: As it has been alluded to through the series it is your sacred duty to try to warn and help the next cycle, much as the protheans helped you. You will need to talk to scientists and discover upgrades to the Crucible (it has been upgraded through out the cycles before this one). You will also need to find a way to hide the blue prints from the reapers, no easy task as they are pretty good at wiping things out.
This could involve a lot of combat and evasion but would end in a touching choice driven monolog where you offer advice and ruminate as to where you went wrong (lots of previous choice flags could be here)
RENEGADE: You did your best but you failed, you don't owe the galaxy any more than that. You find a nice unpopulated beach on a tiny island somewhere and sit around drinking with your crew, each of them reviewing all the choices you've made with their opinions, could be sympathetic or angry depending on the personalities. (choice flags could be at play in the same way)
Or you could choose to go out fighting, some overwhelming force that doesn't stop till you die and fade to black.

See, I for one am not interested in nailing BW to the wall here. All I want is for them to address our concerns. I honestly don't even care if they admit to the massive ****up. Just fixing the problem through new endings would be great, thanks. In any event, I think the FTC discussion has gone on long enough.

I saw, but I confess I neglected it because it seemed somewhat off-topic in many ways.
Yes, you're right. It was off topic slightly but it's a theory on why an ending that was so wrong on so many levels was given the green light. It just crossed my mind the other day as I've been doing a lot of research on how the masses are dumbed down and kept complacent through media. And the other thing I've been looking at is social experiment by a group called 'common purpose' and one thing they've been doing is commissioning very dark and depressing art all over England. I apologise for going off topic but it occurred to me that this could be why the ending is the way it is, to keep us all busy and. It paying attention to real world issues.
Anyway, that's all I have to say on that.
Keep up the outstanding work.
HOLD THE LINE SO THAT OUR CHOICES REALLY WILL MATTER.

That said while it was a set back it hasn't crippled us, but I agree we should discourage such meassures.

This is exactly how I view it. BioWare and EA created a product and marketed it to consumers. We were given expectations about this product before it was delivered. These expectations made us yearn to buy the product even more. We finally buy the product...and it does not live up to the expectations given. Had BioWare told us we would be given the same ending no matter what we did, and our decisions ultimately do not matter one bit, I would not have bought the game.
