Fun read.

No, I think it overcomplicates the idea.
And us sending them from the UK and Europe will take like a week or soto get there anyway.

Yeah, I don't know how you call the ending bleak. It's not... anything. It would be bleak if someone could explain what happened. From what I saw in my ending, it was a super mega happy ending, except that Shepard died. "Shepard died space diving, but everyone else is on this planet, and everything is gum drops and lollypops." That's what I got out of my ending.
My preferred ending is far more bleak. I refuse to choose, and the galaxy burns.
it's not bleak, Really? in mass effect 2 the Arrival it was established that when a mass Relay explodes it takes the local solar system with it, never mind the plot holes of WTF is joker and the rest of your squad Running away? no way they new what was going on. just a couple out of a lot of problems
Edit: Our choices should matter: Hold The Line!
These are different kinds of explosions this time! Didn't you know that? And I bet that the Krogans will survive the longest, eating anyone else who is also now trapped in the solar system.

We all spent countless hours on the entire Mass Effect trilogy and we deserve a better ending. It is still mind numbing how BioWare thought they could get away with such a half-assed ending and still have the nerve to say it was great.
We, as consumers, have the right to voice our displeasure with the ending. BioWare told me my choices mattered in Mass Effect and up till the ending of Mass Effect 3 I believed that! Again, for those who think people want a happy ending with roses, your wrong! We just want endings that make sense. I don't an ending where Joker is running away and somehow manages to scoop up my squad mates that were with me running towards the beam. I don't want to be told that this game has 16 different endings when really it's just the same cinematic with different colors!
Hold the line!

That isn't the point, though. Sure, they may do that, but honestly, think of something that has more symbolic value than the N7 logo, especially in this situation. It's like a sign from the gods that the patch was included in the CE. And if you don't have a patch (or don't want to send yours to keep them from reusing it), mail a paper cut-out of the logo. Same effect, and now they can't package it in anything else. (I'm fairly certain they won't be producing any more CEs anyway, though.)Sinnick03 wrote...
If you send in the patches BW / EA will probably just re-distribute the patches and you may actually have saved them some money.

I still wouldn't be pleased by the fact that I spent 70 bucks on an incomplete game. DLC should be used to enhance an experiance not give you the ending to your game. If the theory is true and this was all planned from the start, then I don't like the presidence that is being set. Bioware/EA has placed themselves in a lose-lose situation.
Either: 1) They released a game they knew wasn't ready and hoped we wouldn't notice or care until they were done with the DLC
Or: 2) They are trying to squeeze the last egg from this golden goose so hard that even Capcom would flinch with a DLc ending plan
Or: 3)They really did think they had made one great finale to the series that everyone would enjoy and are now thinking about scrambling
Incompetent, greedy or out of touch, choose your color.
Now Johnny, let's show the folks what's behind door number 4.
Not saying it is so, but I have thought about this since completing the game last week, and trying to keep pace reading the forums. IF the ending was indeed an indoctrination ending, with Shepard surviving, it DOES leave the door open for them (possibly pre-planned) for them to release further DLC, or a continuation of the series. If you think about it logically, Bioware has already stated that there is more DLC to come. What would be the sense IF the game has indeed ended. Perhaps this is why Bioware is mum about everything, and will look like the heros giving us, the fans, what we want and have asked for.
If it was the plan all along then somebody seriously miscalculated our response. It would be akin to treating your girlfriend like garbage for a month before you proposed to her so she would be so happy you were asking for her hand. She would probably leave you. *hint hint* Bioware.
As I said, an ending to your franchise is not DLC. Retaking Omega is DLC. Aiding the Volus/Elcor/Batarians is DLC. Extended missions with characters from ME2 that you wanted more time with like they did with Liara in LoTSB is DLC. If they were worried about nobody buying DLC they shouldn't have because replayability is one of the things that makes this series great. Give us the choice driven different endings you promised and everyone would have been shelling out money to play again, striving for another ending.
Now I'm wary and hesitant to give them money in fear of getting burned. Whatever magic wand they plan to use to fix this may not be enough. Space magic only exists in video games.

But it this was really to be the ending, then they need to seriously make some staff changes. I would be happy to write some logical endings based on decision for free.
If they fix the ending, we will never know if it was planned or a response. That secret will be buried. But I have a hard time believing that not one person there didn't speak up. It's not hard to believe people want to be a hero, or that you removed our freedom of choice which is integral to the design.

1. Please do your best to stay away from the statistical arguments. They do not help your cause because none of the data available has true statistical relevance, in the mathematical sense. It doesn't mean that your numbers are worthless though. What it likely means is that you have a very powerful weapon to be focused at DLC, which is what you're gunning for anyway! But for your reputation, try to refrain from extrapolating anything statistical from your polling numbers.
2. Keep remaining civil with those of us that don't have a lot of beef with the ending. Join our threads and have fun but just keep using your manners. Most in this cause seem to be doing well with that, but it's going to get tougher as more positive threads start rolling in here. If you can't be nice, take a deep breath and move along.
3. Be vigilant for the newcomers that are unhappy. When you see those threads, jump in and immediately offer links to this thread, the plot holes thread, and any others that you find beneficial to your stance. Give them a place to familiarize themselves and get on board with you. You guys are doing pretty well on this front though. I don't always see the link back to here though, so don't forget that.
4. Remember that not all of us on the other side are actively opposing you. We don't share your camp but we're not trying to stop you either. Most of us aren't traveling around to all of the sites and voting in the various polls because we don't have a vested interest like you have. We got what we wanted from the game so voting around the Internet is purposeless for us.
5. Some folks in my camp will adopt an aggressively opposing view, even though we have no vested interest, simply because it's human nature. People like to take sides and find purpose. If I'm indifferent or merely mildly of differing opinion than you, but you try to engage in discourse very aggressively because of how passionately you feel about your side...I'm far more likely to shift my position to be more aggressively opposed simply out of defense. Thats just what happens. Egos get involved at that point and suddenly you've found yourself an opponent to debate where there wasnt one before, expending vital energy from your cause, while you spend the next three pages of exchanges just getting frustrated and angry. Keep that in mind as some of you may be actively creating opposition from what would otherwise be a cordial and civilized disagreement.
6. But don't lose heart if you feel tired or frustrated with those of us who don't agree. BECAUSE YOU WILL OUTLAST US EVERY TIME, I PROMISE. Again, you have a vested interest, something tangible to fight for. We don't really have that. Again, we got what we wanted from the game so there's no reason for us to hang around debating all these finer points. Other than just having egos engaged in the debate, theres nothing on the line for my camp, nothing to REALLY win. You have a prize at the end, something to keep coming back to the boards for. Use that to bolster you when it looks like theres an endless supply of folks like me that want to talk positively about the game. We got what we wanted. Now get what you want.
Patting you on the shoulder as you...well you know by now. Hold Your Line amigos.

I honestly don't think they can really ignore this problem. It will have some big ramifications if they do. I always believed that they truly cared about their games. Even if you blame this on EA and time issues, Bioware needs to step up and fix it. I hate to admit it but if they pushed it out and planned to release the ending later, I would be ok with it. I know it makes little sense, but it would show they still do care.
But it this was really to be the ending, then they need to seriously make some staff changes. I would be happy to write some logical endings based on decision for free.

That made me think of one of the shuttle disasters, where management was warned by the engineers. BUT the engineers were ignored by the management. The management literally did not "hear" the engineers, they were conditioned to ignore them due to the cultural climate at NASA with the political/manager types and the engineers at the bottom who made the whole thing work. I wonder if people did speak up at Bioware, but simply didn't register with management who were in their own world of "artistic creativity"
