Okay, lets do the math ...
3000000/300=10000 multiplayers for the big Goliath weekend (give or take).
... and that around 3 weeks after launch?

Are those really the numbers you want people to see, EA/BioWare?

Just sayin'

I'm not surprised that Operation Goliath was a sucess.

ME3 Multiplayer is geared towards people coming over from Gears of War and Call of Duty.
In other words: Those who care the very least about story.

So I'm hardly surprised the ending didn't scare them off

Hi everyone, I have also just activated my user to be able to post- and I never post on forums usually. The reason being like all of you I don't like the ending or lack of it, and the fact that it was promised to be varied etc, etc.

To Bioware/EA: You have an out, the indoctrination theory is quite clever and plausible and could be a game saving move. And if these endings are not just a bad dream (they sure were for me, a huge disappointment) I will support any movement to get alternate options.

Otherwise I will always remember the Mass Effect series as utterly brilliant but also ultimately a let down and I am sure that wasn't intended when the word 'bittersweet' was used.

Not sure if anyone posted this (NZ Herald) and this (iafrica.com).  "Same old story", but it is getting out there.

Looks like a repost from elsewhere, I think I've seen the same article on different sites for a few days now.

Someone had a good idea on the Facebook Retake page.

We could send in photos of ourselves holding up a symbol of the Retake movement. Possibly with all the Bioware games we own in sight (and proof of DLC purchase?), for those who don't want to cut out the UPC codes to send in.

Just a quick thought...

Do you think that we would have felt less betrayed over the endings as long as each choice Shepard made on the citadel resulted in a wildly differently animated cutscene? Are we angrier that we feel ending makes no sense or that the ending was lazily produced (ie: one cutscene for three choices)?

Would this movement be in effect if the ending was varied enough -- even if it didn't make as much sense as we would have liked -- to warrant multiple playthroughs.

Of course we would feel less betrayed. It would be that what we deserved to get: an ending which reflects all our choices made in several hundreds of gaming hours which bound us to our very own Mass-Effect-universe, emotionally and even monetary.
And it's just so that we don't get this ending. We get something that is just far from everything Mass Effect established through the course of three games (and even more if you count the portable games which even made a small connection and the books). Something nonsensical, identical and in each case way too short cutscene which just isn't a worthy ending, neither for the game, nor for us or Bioware.

Whatever the reason might be I really hope Bioware really will take in account what we are concerned about and once again shows that they are on of the best gamedevelopers out there.

I don't think this movement damages Bioware artistic intergity, as in the end, the question to answer is "Do they want to sell any more products to us". This cause is to show them that we are serious, nothing more imho.

They have EVERY right to ignore us, it's just, would they realy want to do that?

I'd love to see atg's insight into the Facebook oddity.

Really though, that support group is obviously a PR front. If you're trying to get as many people to join as possible, you don't censor as much as possible (keep it from public view), and make it invite-only (you can ask to be invited, but that means they have the chance to screen out those in the Retake groups, even if the two aren't mutually exclusive). It would seem to me, that if this is indeed a PR front, they're trying to get something quotable. Something that says "well, there might be some people who don't like the endings, but look at the hundreds on this Facebook group who support us!"

Don't think so.
There are always people who like something and will be afraid that they like it less if it's changed.

Time to join the line. Wrote this for another forum to try and put a lighter note on a minor issue with the game. Its also kind about the ending and hope it cheers up folks in the trenches.

A couple of potential spoilers here for turret fans so be warned.

I was initially concerned about ME3, as ME2 and ME1 had missed out on a great opportunity by leaving out turret NPCs. Sure there were flying and enemy turrets and even one you could drive, and while the geth might be turrets-with-legs, at very few points could anyone establish a relationship in the manner spaceman and turret naturally are meant to.

Thank goodness for ME3. After an initial scare with a turret I could only switch off, eventually the devs got the picture and gave me one as a companion on some moon. Turret-chum reminded me why I was fighting – not like those stupid whiny crewmates with their problems and conversations and stuff.

Turret –chum couldn’t come with me at that stage, but being true RPG greats, Bioware let me meet up and continue our relationship at a couple of points, even including a moment of genuine choice when I had to decide whether to use turret-chum on some turrets-with–legs.

I don’t remember much of the rest of the game, it was all stupid people making stupid choices, although when I switched off the sound in multiplayer I could at least pretend some of the people there were kinda turrets-with-legs.

I’m also a bit concerned that that there was some trouble importing the version of turret-chum I met on Tuchanka in ME2 – it looked and sounded different and there was a bug that deleted all the pyjaks in the game.

(There are a couple of spoilers ahead about non-turret related stuff so be warned.)

Oh my sweet tears of joy though, when in the run up to the final battle I looked up and saw turret-chum awaiting me for one final fling together. They stuck the messages from all those noisy NPCs in an easy to overlook side room, and I could walk past the other characters without wasting any time and jump straight on my LI who was always turret-chum. I was really hopeful at that point.

The ending was a complete letdown, it really sucked for turret fans. There were visions of some blue chick who wanted to be my girlfriend and someone who was OLD, but no cut scenes with turret-chum to let me know what it was all for. There were no choices specifically about turrets or anything and even the choice for the turrets-with legs was a lousy one.

They even made me WALK to make my final decision – any decent game would know you should shoot at yellow dangly bits with a turret and not have to walk or press buttons or anything.

I really hope some DLC addresses this issue, the game could do with a satisfactory resolution of turret-chum’s story arc and a patch for the pyjaks. Maybe someone can look at the game files or start a petition and see if turret-chum becomes unlockable later – that would be really neat. Posted Image

Full thanks to the guy on that website who pointed out the importance of turret shooting in the game.

I usually play my games solo and engage in multiplayer only when the game has such a function, and only when playing with my real life friends, but I  actually quite enjoyed the multiplayer of ME3 with pick-up groups. I would've kept playing multiplayer despite the disastrous ending to the single player had I not discovered this thread, its cause, and decided I'd take a stance on the issue. There are probably veteran ME fans out there playing MP despite agreeing that the ending was less than acceptable, possibly seeing MP as the saving grace of the game.

But keep in mind, without real proof we look paranoid if we claim everthing that happens is a PR conspiracy.

Just keep pointing out the positive things of our cause and explain people why you think we are right.

The moment I saw that bl**dy turret near the endgame I knew something was wrong. Up till then I'd been sure the critics were wrong. It seemed there to distract anybody bored by, you know all that plot and character stuff. Just a bit of indirect critcism, thats all.

Well, I believe Amazon is offering full refunds on ME3, including N7 editions refunded for $83 or so.

So, does this mean we are making progress?
We've got retailers on our side (It would seem), and that's gotta be costing EA some money. I'm waiting for atghunter's response to this now...

Just to be clear I am fully against the end of the game and in support of the movement to have it changed to something better. Was satire, but aimed at Bioware and the whole big explosions and turrets over plot resolution. Didnt quite work methinks...
