I too agree that there should be optional DLC. I don't think any of us has ever suggested there should be some sort of patch for the endings that will be forced on anyone connected to the EA servers. That would be ridiculous, especially seeing as how many people have said they're willing to pay for optional endings.

We're asking for more choice, not the absence of choice.

I totally agree with that. All I wanted during the starchild was the dialogue wheel or maybe a nice renegade interrupt to blow his virtual ass into actual dust (must have quoted that a lot of times during the last days ;')). I don't just want another option D which will be a pink rabbite fluffy feel good ending. I do want such an ending, but based on the choices my main shepard took. My other 6 Shepard should get other endings, based on the decision they took.

Honestly, if think back at how often I agonized over creating the "perfect" visual appearance of my Shepards based on which course I was going to take just to stomp them in after 2 hours of play because I was not completly satisfied and started anew... man, if I'd known I wouldn't have bothered...

Age: not important
Sex: also not important
Profession: again not important
Relationship status: guess again. Not important

People, you're feeding the criticasters. Our demographic status is not important. They'll find ways to twist it to their own cause. Only our arguments matter.

Someone mentioned how members of the movement are being characterized. Would it help to get some quick demographic info on people - like age, sex, profession, with / without children - just to show that we aren't all 15 y.o. fanboys as we are being depicted?

Hold the line, guys and gals!

Let me help you out.

All ages.
Both sexes.
A wide variety of profressions.
Both with and without children.

Being a gamer is no different than being a sports fan. It's a hobby that anyone can get in on and enjoy.

It was a simple question. No need to get worked up over it.

I'd slightly tweak that to be 'All sexes', since there are more choices than simply two. (I have friends who have to argue against this every time the US takes a census)

Otherwise, yes. Role-Playing Games have fans of all sorts.

Anyone who's played the game has already purchased it so they got your money and if thats all EA is concerned about they've already won.

You are incorrect there. If in theory, I or you have grounds for a lawsuit or file a complaint with the FTC (Fed Trade Commission) and win; then I can demand reparations. In which case, EA would have to pay up no ifs or buts. In addition, the company (EA, in this case) could also face additional penalties for fraudulent and misleading business practices.

I'm fairly sure that the EULA for every version of the game has provisions which hold EA and Bioware harmless.  A complaint with the FTC, while more logical, is less likely to obtain serious consideration.  They did announce 16 endings, and there are 16 endings, just not to the significantly varying degrees that we expected.  I don't believe legal action against either Bioware or EA is warranted or justified by a crappy ending.

The thing with EULA is, it's fine as long as it doesn't contradict any law. When it does it goes right out of the window.

Wow, that is pretty amazing. Kudos to Mr. Sebastian Sobcyzk! If you read this: Well done holding the line!

I like that the article took in the aspect that choices should matter and how the saga is built around them. Shows they at least took a second look instead of just proclaiming we want a happier ending-

Just read the BBC article. Just more of the same really though isn't it :(

I guess at least it's coverage.

EDIT: actually the interview bit was pretty cool. I just wish the whole thing was longer and they're still making it look like we're whinging at lack of a happy ending.

HOLD THE LINE.

I personally think Bioware will have shot themselves in the foot if they don't make a new ending now after putting it into consideration. Even considering it could fill a lot of people with false hope which could end up Bioware losing even more customers if they ultimately let them down again.

If they never intended on changing anything then they really should have put their foot down from the very beginning. Whatever their intentions the longer this issue goes on the worse it will be for themselves.

I finished ME3 on Sunday night; after it was all over I sat there stunned. Now I had been warned by friends, but I chose to see it through, and my main thought after was, I really wish I had taken their advice and shut it off after the Hail Mary run to the beam.
I won’t go over my various gripes, since they’ve already been covered most eloquently; I will say how much better I have felt since finding this thread. It took me the better part of the day to read through the posts, but once started I found I couldn’t stop.
The sheer passion and community displayed here is inspiring, and all while maintaining a respectful tone! As someone who was disgruntled by the BSG finale and watched as the arguments between those who loved it and those who didn’t, devolve into bashing and ranting, I can tell you in solves nothing and only leaves people feeling more frustrated and isolated.
I would also like to add a special thank you to atghunter, whose insightful posts were incredibly helpful in putting things into perspective and deciphering what was really going on in the Bioware camp. I feel like I have taken a crash course in PR tactics and can now see the forest through the trees, so to speak.
I will keep hope alive that Bioware will see how truly extraordinary it is to have created something people feel so strongly about and how the chance they have to set things  right is not only revolutionary but benefits all of us in the end.
I will Hold the Line.

*laughs* I'm sorry - not to me on the demographics. I don't really care. But I've learned that it's hard to argue with facts. So if there was a way to put a fact sheet together that states...age of players runs from 15 to 90; both male & female gamers from all walks of life (high schoolers to construction workers to doctors/lawyers/managers, etc.). Just thinking how to counter the image of the "typical gamer" which as we all know, there really isn't such a thing.

Again - just throwing out ideas to give the movement more legitimacy in the eyes of the press.

Checking in to let everyone know that while I'm not the most vocal, my support is just as strong!

Keep holding the line. Hold it with civility and respect. Remember that this type of change will not come quickly. We have to be patient and remain steadfast. The longer we hold the line, the more likely we will see an actual response.

Our choices should matter. Hold the line.

I'm not reading through almost 300 pages, but has PR guy touched on the fact that the Retake movement made a significant blunder by using "demand"?

Look at the negative press, it focuses in on "fans DEMANDING bioware blah blah blah". If that would have been toned down, there is no way an objective, unbiased media + opinion pieces could get away with reasonable slams.

Of all the verbs to use to try and get a new ending, demand was def not the way to go.

Never in such numbers, with the world listening, has thousands of individuals come together in a digital, virtual Movement to help and encourage a hugely respected entertainment company in providing the best it possibly can to its dedicated fan base. Man, this is nothing short of a Revolution....
