Excellent post. Sums up BWs situation perfectly and everyone who's down should read this - we are definitely winning.

To answer the demographics question:
28 male,
English language and literature major & history major,
working as a translator,
long time girlfriend - also an ME fan

No, we are losing.

Every hour BioWare does nothing, we get further behind.

The further this goes, the lower the passion drops, the more we lose.

The Retake Charity gained 50k in 65 hours.  In the four and a half days since, it's only gained another 23k.

Just look at the shift in this forum.  Look at how much fewer rants there are.  People are just ceasing to care.

We are losing, and to think we are winning is just fooling yourself and hurting the cause.

When people posted reviews saying that the ME3 endings were terrible I dismissed them. "Who could possibly have finished the game? It's only been out for a few hours!"

Then I finished Mass Effect 3. And now I'm holding the line.

You & Me both my friend. I purposley dragged my 1st play through from the day it was released and avoided any articles on the game, fiendishly refused to acknowledge that my beloved Mass Effect was causing outrage over its finale. Then I finished it sunday night. Im still confussed and bitter over it.

But I'm not droppng my head, Im not giving up. If I end up playing my other 6 Shepherds and cutting it short, each & everyone, at launching the final missions, then so be it. My play throughs wont be finished until, should it happen, we get the endings and conclusions that we all deserve.

Standing firm, holding the line.

30, female, married, 2 kids, gainfully employed as an editor. Oh and I stopped playing video games for a long time after getting badly addicted to them -- got sucked back in by Bioware, specifically DA. Maybe I just should have stayed out.

if anything im jealous of those that get the ending. I wish i could just turn off my critial thinking and go with it,like a bad summer movie. but i can't.

its easy to see why they are being hateful towards those that don't feel that way, from their point of view someone is attacking something they love, and they don't understand why anyone would do that.

That is pretty much what I did. I cited the Greek Tragedy, saying that with such a massive battle there has to be sacrifice. Which by the way I'm fine with. I like the idea of an ultimate sacrifice for the good of whatever. Then I beat it. The plot holes, the whole speculation thing. UGHH So I was in the same boat friend. :D

I was fine with most of the sacrifices in the game,

SPOILERS (if I've done the colours right highlight to read) Edit: I can't get the colours right, don't know what's going on, I'll add extra spaces to compensate.

Mordin, Legion and Thane. They died in appropriate ways that grew out of the story. They made me sad because they worked dramatically (imo) – well that and I loved Mordin Legion and Thane. The ending made feel nothing because it abandoned the previous narrative and shanked the spirit of the franchise for good measure.

Now I'm sounding like a broken record.

The thought that this ... movement is making Bioware sit up and take notice is heartening.

"Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, Nor hell a fury like a fan base scorned"

...too dramatic?

Hold the line.

Someone mentioned how members of the movement are being characterized. Would it help to get some quick demographic info on people - like age, sex, profession, with / without children - just to show that we aren't all 15 y.o. fanboys as we are being depicted?

Hold the line, guys and gals!

I've suggested this in another post, but I think it's relevant to this thread's interest: it seems that there's a disconnect between Bioware and what the Retake movement is really all about. It's always struck me that most of us are calling for explanation of and/or addition to the endings.

In view of a recent ire-rising tweet (I honestly think it's not as bad as it looks), perhaps those of us with twitter accounts that are in the explain/add camp should let @masseffect know what we want.

This is an excellent idea! I don't have a twitter account, but those who have, please tweet this @masseffect.

And for demographics

Isn't that telling our age, gender, profession and so on something to show who we are and that we are no whiny kids?

Alright guys, while it's nice that a lot of us are posting our name age and whatever,
this doesn't have anything to do with this thread.
If you'd like to let them know all this, create a poll and do it there.
Otherwise this gives the moderators ample reason to stop this thread.

On another issue.
What's ATG thinking about this twitter feed thing going on at the moment?
I'd be happy to hear some opinions on that from anyone else as well.
Thank you

Which is honestly bad for bioware. Everyone who is on the line is a customer who they can win back. Everyone who leaves is a customer that has stopped caring, and won't be buying anymore bioware products. It's not us getting futher behind, it's bioware cutting off their nose (profits) to spite their face (fans).

I still cannot fathom how this ending came to be, though, those last few minutes. :pinched:

But I shall hold the line, for the love of the game.

Ok people I understand you want to show your demographic but since it currently has nothing to do with PR it will probably be considered spam. If you want to add it after a comment relevant to the topic fine, but please don't just post your name/age with "Hold the line" under it, we don't want this thread locked.

Hold the line

Once again people, if you want to post you age/name/occupation then by all means do it, but add if after a comment relevant to the thread. This can be considered spam and get the thread closed!

What was going to be top 3 series for me before the end of Mass Effect 3 for the last 10 years.

1: Mass Effect Series
2: Jack Campbell's - The Lost Fleet Series (books)
3: Marvel comics to Film.

If things stay the same, then the Metal Gear Solid series might get back into my top 3.

Hold the line

Metal gear/metal gear solid is my favourite none RPG game series of all, hence my name ;) I used to love resident evil too but after code Veronica they started to change, and change for the worst too. They're to upsetting for me to play these days. At least hideo koshima hasn't sold out MGS

atghunter, In your next update, could you give us your own professional view on what the atmosphere would be like at Bioware? You've talked extensively about how the PR team is in war mode, but what about the developers and its employees? There must be a huge fat pink elephant standing right there at the coffee table.

Its so surreal when reading their twitter accounts, that its like all is good outside, the sun is shining and they are talking about how much fun the MP is. Especially Chris Priestly, the REAL community officer here. Where is he?

Do they know whats happening here or are they blind? Or are all their tweets, messages and emails monitored by some uber Big Brother entity, ready to crack the whip when someone tries to appease the crowd?

I believe it's a defense thing. They are trying to go the whole "ohh it's not so bad look we have supporters." At least that is what I take from it.

People only have so much money, an increase in ire isn't going to magically put more cash in my account.

This just means that the number of disaffected members is growing at a slower rate than in the initial rush.

On Amazon.de the price for ME3 is dropping since customers can give back their ME3 games and the customer crits are ripping the game into pieces (not even Force unleashed 2 got so many 1 star crits)
Epic fail Bioware, i just hope will get into economic trouble as quick as possible. For this ending you deserve it. Just go down as soon as possible, i wont moan a second. You lied to us, you have given false promises and your game promotions have been nothing but lies. You are criminals and can keep your DLCs and other products. I wont buy anything from you anymore.
