People only have so much money, an increase in ire isn't going to magically put more cash in my account.

This just means that the number of disaffected members is growing at a slower rate than in the initial rush.

Which makes sense since the majority of the really pissed off people would've bought the game around release since they were so invested in Mass Effect.

@Candoo
Great post!! Has Peter Nowak responded to you yet?

"Holding the Line"

Hi Marshkoala and Fleets,

Yes, there was a reply from Peter when I came in from work tonight.

He related that he has been following Retake Mass Effect, and he has been considering writing something about it, and that he still might. He also related that he "really did like the ending" (which IMHO, is his perogative), as it "wasn't the typical Hollywood happy ending".

If he does write an article, I'm not sure of what his approach or overall perspective would be, as he did include that "he hopes that [we] wouldn't be too mad".

But before i am not understood.. Did nobody of you think about it that telling about your age, gender and more is exactly telling BW and EA statistic facts that they want to know?

On Amazon.de the price for ME3 is dropping since customers can give back their ME3 games and the customer crits are ripping the game into pieces (not even Force unleashed 2 got so many 1 star crits)
Epic fail Bioware, i just hope will get into economic trouble as quick as possible. For this ending you deserve it. Just go down as soon as possible, i wont moan a second. You lied to us, you have given false promises and your game promotions have been nothing but lies. You are criminals and can keep your DLCs and other products. I wont buy anything from you anymore.

Please stay calm and reasonable, that helps us more than such reactions.

When people posted reviews saying that the ME3 endings were terrible I dismissed them. "Who could possibly have finished the game? It's only been out for a few hours!"

Then I finished Mass Effect 3. And now I'm holding the line.

You & Me both my friend. I purposley dragged my 1st play through from the day it was released and avoided any articles on the game, fiendishly refused to acknowledge that my beloved Mass Effect was causing outrage over its finale. Then I finished it sunday night. Im still confussed and bitter over it.

But I'm not droppng my head, Im not giving up. If I end up playing my other 6 Shepherds and cutting it short, each & everyone, at launching the final missions, then so be it. My play throughs wont be finished until, should it happen, we get the endings and conclusions that we all deserve.

Standing firm, holding the line.

Im pretty good at avoiding media. I hadn't seen or heard anything about the game other than the Kinect demos and while playing the game I had.no idea there were any issues with the end. It wasn't until I got there myself I was so shocked. I remember posting on my FB account that I felt a feeling I couldn't place, I'd never felt so let down (and I've had some bad girlfriends too, lol) I came online and couldn't bellive what was happening.

So here I am, holding till they cave or at least give us an honest answer.

Isn't that a tad extreme I mean i'm as angry as anyone else about about the ending but I don't feel that BW LIED to us per say just that the copped out at the end of an otherwise brilliant game. Far from BW crashing I don't want that as they have done some epic work (the first 2 MEs) but i do feel that it makes sence for them to at least consider giving us an extra optional ending more in line with the feel of the rest of ME3 rather than the half finished ending we did get.

This movement started with a single page of disgruntled players. Look how far we've come now. This movement has good odds that its goals will succeed. We need to keep to the course.

Sad thing is ME3 is a terrific game and unless Bioware fixes this problem soon I doubt it'll recover.

Thank you, both.  I will keep holding the line until they either fix this or not.

I still cannot fathom how this ending came to be, though, those last few minutes. :pinched:

But I shall hold the line, for the love of the game.

Glad to hear it soldier! :D Your not alone, so next time you feel it getting to you just come back here, or watch this awesome hold the line vid doing the rounds on youtube at the moment :)

Excellent post. Sums up BWs situation perfectly and everyone who's down should read this - we are definitely winning.

To answer the demographics question:
28 male,
English language and literature major & history major,
working as a translator,
long time girlfriend - also an ME fan

No, we are losing.

Every hour BioWare does nothing, we get further behind.

The further this goes, the lower the passion drops, the more we lose.

The Retake Charity gained 50k in 65 hours.  In the four and a half days since, it's only gained another 23k.

Just look at the shift in this forum.  Look at how much fewer rants there are.  People are just ceasing to care.

We are losing, and to think we are winning is just fooling yourself and hurting the cause.

Apathy should scare Bioware more than anything else. As people grow more apathetic, they'll move on. And they'll shift from disgruntled customers to former customers.

No, it doesn't help the cause. But it does hurt Bioware. If they don't attempt to salvage this sinking fandom soon, there's not going to be a fandom left.

Yes, it is also a reminder that not all of us are 15 years of age(no offence to the 15 year olds).
We have careers, families, etc.  The most important thing is that we have buying power.
They stand to lose alot if we take our dollars, dinars, euros, pounds, etc elsewhere.

Which makes it strange that Bioware is going to wait two weeks to say anything, not even give a slight hint.  Things are not going to get better and I doubt they're going to make us wait two weeks just say, "no, the endingS stand."  This forum will have a melt down if they did.

Absolutely true.  At this point I'd rather give my money to 2K, Valve, and Bethesda.  I still have a smidgen of hope aimed at Bioware, but if they don't resolve this at (or soon after) PAX I think I'm done with them, as far as pre-orders and buying merch goes.

And I was going to get an N7 hoodie this year, too. :crying:

We certainly are at a disadvantage to EAware, but I expect that recent events(the full refunds; the mainstream press; the similar reaction from international release, 'Rent Effect') will bear interesting fruit, at least.

1. Razorsteel's point is the point to make - some of us (maybe a lot of us) are consumers with disposable income that can vote by walking our entertainment dollars elsewhere.

2. Hate to break it to you, but BW / EA no doubt already has all this information on their clientele. Any company would know or should know this info.

By each day that pass Bioware risk losing more of its fanbase just because they stop caring so them waiting is a bit strange but i guess they knew their fanbase so little that this reaction suprised the heck out of them

And they still lie! Just take a look at the ME3 promotion, it is still the same, false crap like before. "Bioware is listening". Suuuuureee. I dont believe a word they say anymore. Most likely they are planning to sit it out. I am sure Bioware has already made their decisions. But they shouldnt expect to get much money from further DLC releases in germany. The fans over here are still furious and they will stay this way until Bioware fixes the ending and gives us what they promoted for months. The dropping prices for ME3 over here should be a clear message for Bioware: Keep your crap, we dont want it.
We will hold the line and strike back until Bioware goes down. Your faults, your consequences CH. I just hope that Bioware already regrets releasing this crapy ending and is only too stubborn to release a fullscale DLC including alternate endings. Its the only way for Bioware to get out of this mess without negative long term consequences. Release alternate endings or go down just as stubborn and lying as you are. I wont loose a tear about it.

Isn't that what Japan has dubbed it? Well they got it right,  ME3's ending pretty much destroys the replay value of the series.

They'll never say "no". they'll just keep stringing us along with asking for feedback, and saying "we're discussing it" untill the end of eternity if they decide not to do it.
