Morning/Afternoon.
I wish i could say that I was taking a break from my reports to come on here but the truth is ive been busy trying to catch up on all the posts! So I should probably finish my work but wanted to report in to the line!
Anyways it was encouraging hearfrom Jessica, who if your reading this; thanks for your post. Its all to easy I guess to forget that the developers and even our fellow gamers who like the endings are just that; fellow gamers/enthusiasts/humans. And constantly putting anything said under a microscope can often cause the speaker to not want to say anything ever again, which is why we need to just be a little more tactful when someone like Jessica posts for us because constant second guessing can sometimes backfire.
EIther way, again Jessica, I am one of the people who lurked untill the ending of Mass Effect 3, after 2 years of holding my account here I first started posting mostly to share dissapointment. But dissapointment does not = dislike (like many other people just assume), the passion, thought and views on here are because we genuinely care about the game & franchise. And also the way I see it as responsible fans we NEED to let the team know when we dont think something has worked or when we think they could do better, because if we dont then how do they know where they need to try harder and improve? We all get feedback at work (wheter we want it or not sometimes) and its both positive and negative, on a personal note if i do something wrong I want to hear about it so I dont do it again! But thats just me but im sure im not alone!
As i said these last few days have been my first outing into this community and Im mostly impressed with the way everyone has been behaving, for a first timer thats when impressions count. Your post Jessica is inspiring as it at least shows there is someone there and you hit another crucial point which i will get into in a minute, but just know this I am immensly proud of everyone in this thread and the movement because for at least this little part of the internet, civility and manners are the norm. /pat-on-back for all of you.
FInally, again for Jessica (I'll shut up after this next bit honest), you mentioned the whole issue of sites that have been casting "fandom" in a bad light, yes they have some have been particulary abhorrent in their treatment of us, mentioning no names. It pleases me that this kind of thing does not hold favour with you either, and whatever the result of the movement and Biowares decision one thing i will take away from all of this is that I cannot trust large parts of the gaming media writers/sites ever again for me their reputation and credibility has been forever tarnished in my eyes. And if that comes out being the only casualty in this whole affair then to be honest I would be more than happy with that.
Thanks for reading this.
Again, proud to be with you all.
Hold the line.
