Just so you guys are aware, my Twitter account will no longer be a place to discuss BioWare (at least for now). If you're following me there and that's the only reason, I suggest unfollowing me.

I will also be changing my interactions with fans on the BSN to a role that is more moderation focused and less engagement focused. Thanks to those of you who have provided wonderful conversations.

Lastly, despite what someone indicated on an earlier page, I am not a salaried employee. I am paid hourly. It's a good job, but I'm not being paid to engage with the community at 3AM. I did it because I thought it was helpful. I'm sorry that it wasn't.

No, it was and we appreciate you coming here and talking with us.
Some people here are just too blind to see that or are just beyond hope.

im sad to hear that. you were a geniune fan and it was refreshing to see such enthusiasm.  It's not your fault things are the way they are.  I enjoyed what you had to say and knew you werent doing it in an official way.  I think you did a lot for the image of bioware even if it was unpolished, better then the wall of sielnce everyone else was giving beyond the "we're listening line"

I don't see what Bioware/EA has to do with the actuall meaning of criticism...

It only has something to do because anytime there is something that criticizes EA/Bioware or makes a contrary statement about them, you are quick to the defense....  That is all.  I have just noticed that you tend to be very defensive of them.

The criticism statement you posted sort of followed this defensive posture that you tend to take.

Its not defense actually. I never stated anything from the article that would defend Bioware or EA. Likewise I never stated anything to harm them. I merely pointed out if the article write, quotes a person that is so deluded by his own ways, that he even gets the basic form of criticism wrong and confused it with 2 completely different forms of Criticism, I tend to say.

"Its a nice article, but its not note or trustworthy due to various incorrectness."

Lol, okay whatever....

Let us just say I couldn't disagree with you anymore and leave it at that.

I know, truth hurts doesn't it. But then again trying to tell someone who is so set in its ways to "hate" bioware/EA for this ending, to look at it from a different angle other then hatred was futile. (the article btw, not the game)

Lol, I have been a EA/Bioware fan since Shattered Steel.  Truth hurts?  Lol, what the hell are you talking about?

I have plenty of reasons to not trust EA/Bioware now, starting with the broken promises of Dragon Age 2.  This was just icing on the cake.  I have looked at it from many different angles.  Hell, just look at the long line of promises about ME3 that were broken.

I mean come on.  Like I said, I used to be like you, defending EA/Bioware to the end.  I even defended DA2 until I played it.  I have quit being so naive these days.

Back from class! So whats happened in the last six hours? I know Jessica popped her head in here and gave us some insight. But anything after that?

Yeah, there's a blog from a guy from BW that explains what happened with the ending and that most of the te were shut out. But now BW are claiming its a fake.

Shouldnt be too hard to find.

You did what you could and ultimately I think most fans are reasonable enough not to hold any of BioWare's issues with ME3 against you.....I certainly don't.

I find it regretable that you feel you need to change this but I sort of understand....being associated with BioWare automatically throws you in the eye of the hurricane and I can only immagine how stressful it must be to know that every word you say can be taken out of context.

Nonetheless I hope you understand our side as well.

Ms. Merizan
Thank you for communicating with the fans. I understand you couldn't give out much information about what's going on. I apperciate you taking the time to address, and speak to us as humans. Thank you for your input on our movement.

seconded. Although we have different opinions regarding RetakeME3, Jessica is a great community manager,  I'm sorry about how she feels regarding the current situation; however, I respectfully dissagree with said views.

I will still stand fast, strong, and will hold the line, however long it takes. keep up the civil manner, the respectfull attitude, and we will win this.

Our Choices Should Matter.

I'm sorry Ms. Jessica, but we have to take any statements that don't explicitly state whether or not an ending DLC will be created with a grain of salt. I hope you are sincere when you ask for feedback, but we can't take a chance to be sidetracked in our effort. You may see that as extreme, but we want to succeed. I'm sorry however for those who have insulted you or acted rudely towards you. If or when the endings are fixed, I guarantee you will be the first Bioware employee I thank.

Thanks for listening (If you are) to our feedback. We hope this unpleasant business can be concluded soon.

Video gamers have been getting the short end of the stick from corporations for ages now:

If we don't like the plot they gave us or point out massive plot holes, we're told it's art so SHUT UP.

If we criticize the writing in it's entirety, we just don't get it so Shut Up.

If we criticize sloppy gameplay, we're newbs (or elitists).

If we criticize lack of RPG interactions, we're elitist because clearly no one likes real RPGs.

If we call out developer promises made prior to release, we "Read too much into it" or "Thing's changed prior to release". Because telling your consumers one thing and doing (and selling them) another is OK?

If we call out game developers for selling us a four-hour single player campaign or day-one DLC, they can shrug and get away with it because people keep -letting- them get away with it.

We're told to look at the shiny review sites, why can't we just be happy? We're just mean!

We then point out that the review sites are paid for by -advertising from the company they're reviewing-. Which makes a real conflict of interest. Not to mention the scandals with companies withholding review copies unless a certain score is promised. And most major reviewers rarely play more then a few hours of content. Yeah, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

This is not some little fanart site, where no one paid to see your work and you can block anyone you don't like. If it is art, then you need to be ready to deal with ALL criticism - calling it Art does not give you a free out from having your plot holes and mistakes pointed out. NUMEROUS examples have been given of "art" or video games that have been changed after criticism.

Hound of the Baskervills would never have been written if fans hadn't asked Arthur Conan Doyle to bring back Sherlock Holmes, after he had been killed the first time. Fallout 3: Broken Steel is a good recent example of a video game.

We're treated like open ended wallets of money, that can be counted to cough up 60 to 80 bucks for anything they put out. As soon as we start asking for value for money though, we're entitled, fanatical fans, disruptive, elitists or we just don't "Get" the vision.

We can respect the individuals, be civil, and avoid personal attacks - but they're not five, this isn't DeviantArt and we shouldn't have to sugar coat criticism of the product for them. The corporate entity Bioware is not people, and it is still on the defensive, still not addressing the specific criticisms and not giving us answers.

We're consumers, and customers, and we need to start getting the respect from video game companies we expect elsewhere when we consume a product. I plan to vote with my dollars - no more preorders, collector's editions, and no games at all from Bioware until their act straightens out.

Such an inspiring post. Thank you.

 I said this:

http://social.biowar...49/326#10382618

and then read this:

http://www.gameranx....versial-ending/

I think I was right and this is how it went down.   As I said, I couldn't believe there was no way that everyone on the staff believed in the ending and no one voiced their concerns.  What we saw was a product of an idea between one or two people with no testing or peer review.   The ending speaks of creative arrogance.

However I do feel that some of the pre-production promises do need to be addressed by the team because of the wide gap between what we were promised and the ending we got.

This is something that we can most definitely discuss when the time is right. I've been compiling an excel sheet since before launched (the endings were beginning to be discussed a few days prior to launch) that have questions the community would like answers to. I unfortunately, cannot give you an estimated time of when those will be answered due to various logistical timing reasons (and yes, marketing, PR, and studio buy-in will be important with getting these questions answered in a way that we're all comfortable with).

I know it's hard, but we really appreciate your patience. The studio is very impressed many aspects of the community right now :)

Thanks for at least addressing that this is known by Bioware. We really do appreciate the hard work you do for Bioware and the fans, Jess. May you keep holding your own line during these hard times, we'll definitely keep holding ours.;)

Ms. Merizan,

I've been one to question you a few times on Twitter; you may recognize my handle as @danielmchick. I hope my tweets did not come across as hateful, rude, etc. I sincerely wasn't trying to be, nor do I take anything personally. Sometimes I forget that others don't think exactly as I do and I can get caught in the fray, and for that, if anything could be misinterpreted, I apologize.

However, I will not apologize for this community's effort to receive the closure and sophistication and finesse that a story such as what the Mass Effect franchise has created, deserves. Yes, things may get out of hand at some points. And yes, we're all passionate here. But those with an overzealous passion do not reflect the majority in the movement; the vast majority of us are civil, peaceful, and reasonable and gladly call out those who do not reflect those characteristics.

I'm sad to see a direct communication line from the fans to Bioware be shut down; you provided an invaluable asset to us. Thank you for the service, and keep up the good work. I know it can be difficult, especially with the PR disaster that this has become.

All the best,
Daniel M. Chick

Thanks for doing your best with dealing with a bunch of cynics like us.  I'm sorry if you've been getting a hard time, or if any tweets I might have sent may have offended you.  Sometimes I say things as jokes and...well the internet and tone don't mix sometimes.  And just to let you know, every tweet was helpful.... but I still want to know if you prefer plant-eating or meat-eating dinsoarus :D

For what it's worth Ms. Merizan,

I have no anger, ill-will, resentment, etc towards the good folks of Bioware at all. I DO have anger, ill-will and resentment towards the tragic fools who compose the staff of IGN and Kotaku as they fail to maintain even the simple requirements of their jobs by insulting their readership and not providing basic journalistic neutrality and research. You folks on the other hand are doing a heck of a job given what you're being tasked with! I just a wish that we could communicate more openly, but I can sympathize that there are protocols you must all work within to ensure any actions taken are the correct ones.

I was curious if you could recommend a more direct route for me to pass along my praise and constructive criticisms on ME3 other then the forum thread?
