Just so you guys are aware, my Twitter account will no longer be a place to discuss BioWare (at least for now). If you're following me there and that's the only reason, I suggest unfollowing me.
I will also be changing my interactions with fans on the BSN to a role that is more moderation focused and less engagement focused. Thanks to those of you who have provided wonderful conversations.
Lastly, despite what someone indicated on an earlier page, I am not a salaried employee. I am paid hourly. It's a good job, but I'm not being paid to engage with the community at 3AM. I did it because I thought it was helpful. I'm sorry that it wasn't.
EDIT: None of this affects my role. I'm still your advocate and am actively collecting feedback, thoughts, questions, concerns etc.
Ms. Merizan,
I've been one to question you a few times on Twitter; you may recognize my handle as @danielmchick. I hope my tweets did not come across as hateful, rude, etc. I sincerely wasn't trying to be, nor do I take anything personally. Sometimes I forget that others don't think exactly as I do and I can get caught in the fray, and for that, if anything could be misinterpreted, I apologize.
However, I will not apologize for this community's effort to receive the closure and sophistication and finesse that a story such as what the Mass Effect franchise has created, deserves. Yes, things may get out of hand at some points. And yes, we're all passionate here. But those with an overzealous passion do not reflect the majority in the movement; the vast majority of us are civil, peaceful, and reasonable and gladly call out those who do not reflect those characteristics.
I'm sad to see a direct communication line from the fans to Bioware be shut down; you provided an invaluable asset to us. Thank you for the service, and keep up the good work. I know it can be difficult, especially with the PR disaster that this has become.
All the best,
Daniel M. Chick
