In Jessica's defense, I implicitly invited her to address me directly. I also posted, on this page discussing BWs response to the fan response, a tweet from her twitter that I thought was important to the discussion, considering that this thread is for discussion of BW public response.

In my defense, none of my post was what I would describe a fist shaking tone or angry tone. I was as objective as I could manage. But the problem with presenting materially objectively is that when it may disagree with what a person with authority says, or when the information that is presented may not make that authority look angelic, it may actually make the presenter of that information look angry or "aggressive". But as I said before, while I am perfectly capable of aggression, this is not it. I left my battle axe at home with my basket of kittens.

Color me marginalized. I should have chose to send rude and nasty tweets instead, I guess.

I apologize to the forum that it was me and those like me that caused this result. It was not my intention.

I didn't see anything particulary rude in your tweets. I would imagine that everyone in the upper levels of Bioware are getting pretty worn down about this. Which means they also tend to get sensitive.

Same thing could be said for our side, we are so worried about being viewd as "rude", "vicouse", "whiners" ect.. that we see it in each other, when it's not necessarily there.

Everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax. Remember: A house divided cannot stand. We need to stick together and stay level-headed to win this war.

Hold the line, for as long as it takes.

I agree. And please keep posting Matty. I like hearing what you have to say regardless of all that has been said.

I don't think that all spacefiddle. I am one of the most polite people on these forums. I was simply saying that alienating people is unacceptable to me.

So alienating *all* people is unacceptable to you?  Or just some people?  Or just people you perceive as on your side?

See what I'm getting at here?

"Mattynutz" - I am not disengaging because of people saying mean things to me on my Twitter or in the forums. I can take it. It's not because evil PR told me not to talk anymore or because this is part of the master plan to win your sympathy and attack you when you least expect it. I'm disengaging because of you and people like you. I won't say anything more than that.

For everyone else, we're discussing dinosaurs and puppies on my Twitter if you're interested. You can hold the line and still choose to engage in positive discussion.

Woah, that is unacceptable. I must have missed her saying that.

"I'm disengaging because of you and people like you. I won't say anything more than that."

Absolutely unacceptable behavior.

Yes, it's completely unacceptable that someone like Matty would come in here screaming and swinging and shaking his fist at one of the folks who have been engaging with us constantly, while the rest of us have gone to great lengths to be civil, obey guidelines of basic courtesy, and show some respect for the people we deal with.

You think you're more outraged by the whole situation than me, so that gives you the right to act like a jackass to people?  Think again.  Look at my past posts, analsyes, participation and position.  I was, to quote Mr. Keitel, Super-F!n-Pissed.  But you can SAY you've been really angry without ACTING really ragey.  This forum is not your punching bag nor your therapy.  Rage it out elsewhere, then come back and join the discussion.

Deeply disappointed that some have decided that their personal rage comes before any rational or logical ideals of behaviour.  I've been against this whole fiasco of a mis-marketed "ending" from a start.  Doesn't mean I get to scream in people's faces and call them names, nor make bad assumptions about them based on incomplete or just plain incorrect info.

Get back on track.  Or go away.  You're not helping.  Take a few days off from the computer, and see if maybe you feel a little embarassed.

^^^This, so much this.

Worse, it doesn't even seem to have sunk in with some that a very important relationship was changed by this. Ms. Merizan is too much of a professional to let it negatively impact her role as community advocate, but (hopefully not mischaracterizing here; there's probably a better way to put this...) she has found it necessary to engage with the community in a less conversational way.

Regardless of your skepticism or whether you prefer to see this through the lens of civility or strategy, it was not a step forward. Have any of you ever, EVER had someone respond to such undeserved flaming kicks in the ass with "Oh, wow -- thank you SO much. I see the light now! Why, you were right all along! I'm so grateful to you and your size 14 flaming foot!"

I didn't think so.

Nobody should be alienated.

There is a difference between disagreeing and telling people they should go mute. If you want me to extrapolate on where I think Jessica played into this I can, but at this point, I don't think we are really serving a purpose by keeping this going.

Mind you, I didn't percieve you to be on my side from your last post. I also didn't tell you to leave and cool down because I didn't want to hear anymore from you.

And here goes the infighting. Instead of placing blame on what happened in the past why don't the people who not get it read all my previous posts. It is in the past. Move on. Picking the scabs will result in a loss of support.

@mattynutz

matty, let it go. It's done. Give it away. Can't change the past for better or worse. I'm not here to judge you or anyone else. We're united for a single purpose and have to stay focused on that. Everything else has to be let go. Not everything is going to go well, or go absolutely bad either. You're OK.

We'll never know Ms. Merizan's motivations, nor should we. Got to take it at face value and not read anything into it. For you, I suggest you stop beating yourself up over it. Forgive yourself if you feel you need to do so. I don't think there's anything to forgive. Nobody is a saint and we all look at and react to things differently.

It's a tense time. Some of us have said we've been spending a lot of time here, which is time we deny ourselves things like sleep...food...hmmm...I think I'll partake of one or both of those. Time to decompress, relax, laugh, talk to my loved ones about something else. Be back tomorrow ready to lend support and participate. Maybe some sleep will help with a few ideas on how we can keep a dialogue once Bioware makes their April statement.

Night all. Cheers!

While enjoying my beer I wandered over to Google Finance and saw that EA's stock is off another half a percent. Is this sort of jitter in a stock common market day stuff, or is it indicative of negative investor sentiment regarding the ME3 protests?

Just some idle speculation to tide myself over.

Small fluctuations are normal; however, generally one would've expected a small but noticable gain, after the launch of their most anticipated title ever.  It's the lack of a solid gain that speaks more than minor wiggling losses.

ME 2 bought for $20, It was epic, brilliant it took me back to the days when gaming was good. Star Control 2. That game was epic great story telling, a flavor of RPG, with a smattering of strategy. I thought the days games like that were gone for good. Then I played ME 2. Dang BioWare did it right and brought back the good old days when content in a game mattered. Those who don't learn history are doomed to repeat it.. I'm 45 years old I've been a PC gamer for 20 years, Star Control 2 was epic and brilliant Star Control 3 was an epic fail. ME 3 and $70 less in my pocket. I played quickly through with my Shepard missed a couple of missions and war assets. Got a bad Ending. Imported that same Shepard made sure I had every war asset made sure I did every mission, demand, request. Listened to any and all conversations story relevant and even ones not relevant. It does not get any better the second time through. ME 3 is a good game up to a point but it is uncompleted unfinished and unsatisfying. If the game was on the discount shelf I would count myself lucky. 20 years of gaming and I have bought a lot of discounted game stinkers and you get what you pay for. $70 is a high price to pay for uncompleted stink.

I hope the game gets completed. If they do I will play again and even buy ME 1 so I can play the series in total. Like a good book I'll read many times over. I'll play Mass Effect again. If not... well I've got a lot reading to catch up on and EA-Ware will be down just one future customer. -$70 but world weary wiser.

Not the only one who said this.
I second this opinion.

No more.

Let's focus on making our voice heard by rebuking wrongful opinions of us, how about that?

Oh god, so much this.  I know that people feel the need to address this kind of thing when it comes up, and some people are trying to catch up on the thread, but it happened hours ago and we're still feeling the repercussions.  Let's move on from the topic and back into constructive, line holding territory.

Note, the feed will sometimes be cut by ads.  The feed will resume shortly thereafter.  REALLY want to hear his reaction to the end.

Is it disconcerting to anyone that in Dr. Ray's press release he stated customer reaction was "a surprise" to them? Does that mean they have a huge disconnect with the likes/wants/desires of their clientele?

Hey guys, thank you being a harbor of both sanity and compassion.

Both sides of this fight are becoming increasingly unbearable; Now, before the pitchforks come out I'd like to take a moment to explain why I think the Bioware/EA - PR people might be right about how vitriolic the movement is becoming. The BSN has been INCREDIBLY civil about this whole situation, considering that we were lied to about the endings/DLC/etc and this forum especially; but, unfortunatley I think that we may be the exception....

Taking a look around at other forums and social media, penny-arcade, the escapist, IGN, and you-tube even, you start to see what they are getting at. The amount of hate and venom on both sides of the line is getting rediculous. The thing that we have to consider is that Bioware/EA is not just looking at their official forums, they are looking EVERYWHERE so end up wading through a lot more **** than the rest of us.

I am not defending the actions they've thus far taken to resolve this conflict just making an acknowledgement that when social media is saying that we need to "CALM DOWN" they are probably not talking about the BSN.

That being said,
Hold the line!

It's true, we have control of the home turff, but outside we're being misrepresented.
