Bioware planned this all along.

Regardles of whether it was planned all along or not, if the majority of gamers don't get the ending, then they failed to deliver.  This is supposed to be a video game to provide entertainment to its customers from all walks of life.  If you need to be an English major to disect and understand the deeper meanings and see the real picture, then they've not done their job properly.

Mr. Muzyka, please do not tell people you won't respond to the so called destructive criticism. I appreciate your hard work on ME3. I also have the utmost respect to the team who made ME1 and ME2 but a judgment error has been made. Fans are displeased.

Metacritic fan scores are low. And people are free to express their frustration. Some people like me will give you constructive feedback even knowing that they won't be paid for their ideas but they will be satisfied because if this will result in a better ME3 all community will benefit from it.

But some people will only vent their anger. In the end displeasing your customers will cost you brand image and hard cash. Amazon refund initiative proves this.

So please do not tell people to shut up. They won't shut up. Ignoring insults is the way to go. We should be polite and civil. But when you say we do not respond to destructive criticism you actually say that you won't listen customers.

Maybe if you had listened us at first, when we were expressing our suspicions during the development phase, for instance after beta leak, this would not happen.

Your statement is a professional PR product. Well thought and well written but please understand that fans will not respond well to manipulation.

People please be civil and constructive but if you dislike ME3 don't hesitate to say it! We pay, we are entitled. Hold the line!

While I hold the line I think I am going to go back to Mass Effect 1 and playthrough without skipping anything, then onto Mass Effect 2 and do the same.

Hopefully by the time I am back to Mass Effect 3 the PR rubbish will be over and a straight answer would have been given
.
So I hope everyone continues to hold the line, and thanks for the most informative thread on BSN.

thank you for the warm welcome! i would be happy to re-write this if you think it'll help the cause. any suggestions on what to change exactly? if no, i'll think of something lol. ^_^

You can begin with what you liked about the game (if any, such as gameplay etc), but keep it short as you don't want BioWare to think your post is just full of praises - they may simply pat themselves on the back and move on to next post without looking at your post further.

Then, list out and succinctly explain the issues that bothered you - story not making sense, ending not fulfilling, the total lack of the "sweet" element in a supposedly "bittersweet" ending, etc etc. You should probably bullet point them for extra clarity, and organise each point so that they follow the argument, or similar-theme argument or point of the previous point, so you have a cascading list of points that are coherent to one another, thus making an easy to read, straight-to-the-point and powerful argument.

This is just a suggestion of course, what structure you choose is ultimately your choice

Woop! I think Commander Shepard may be making me a little schizophrenic though. When I play as a paragon, I think: "How could I do any of the renegade options, they're awful!"

And when I play renegade, I think: "Muahahahah! Paragon is so boring, how did I do it?"

I agree that it wasn't the best idea they had to make it that way, but people will "get it" once the planned ending DLC is released. Until then alot of disgruntled gamers are really satisfied after viewing these videos which is the point. I myself used to be on the Hold the line team until I viewed them and everyone I know have faith in Bioware once more.

Oh god I can relate, I only watched the mordin betrayal ending on youtube and my mouth was fixed in permenant horror for most of the video. I didn't even make the decisions but I still felt awful for even watching them.

Also the reason for my biggest gripe with KoTOR, I always play spellcasters but to actually be an effect spellcaster I needed to go Dark Side. In the end I was never able to do that, I felt waaaaay too bad.

Getting really, really sick of people passing a theory off as fact. It is not fact until it actually exists. You can find evidence to support any theory if you look hard enough. There are a lot of good points and ideas floating around in the indoctrination theory but it is NOT fact. No matter how hard you believe in it, which I respect, it will not be fact unless something is actually released.

Not to mention how many additional plot holes are left over by the theory. However, a debate for another time...

Havn't been on for a couple of days. Took a day out.

In that time, I found something kinda ME3 releated, just is not quite on subject. But anyhow..

http://penny-arcade....ss-effect-3-dlc

Give it a look, just to take your mind off things for 5 mins, and I think the song at the end credits is awesome!

Hold the line

PS: for those who just want the song  http://music.biggian...d-of-the-galaxy

Exactly!  Indoctrination theory is sad fans looking for anything to make them feel better.  It makes sense in a way, especially when you start to warp it around in your head.  It is easy to believe because they want to believe that EA/Bioware didn't create that bad of an ending.

And if EA/Bioware makes it cannon, who is to say that they just stole the idea just to save some face?

I am glad that you and alot of people you know found solace in those videos, however over here we believe that we will let BioWare's actions and subsequent game content speak for themselves - that is, we will decide for ourselves after the release and playthrough of whatever BioWare is cooking up right now and decide if that has demonstrated BioWare's credibility as one of the greatest game companies or that they have lost their touch. We believe this stance allows us to give BioWare a chance whilst possibly shielding us from a second disappointment - you can't be disappointed if your hopes weren't high in the first place.
