@LdyBelial you are certainly not alone, well written, heartfelt, nice job.
Hold The Line!
@StJonofPDX because this is the same ending that was in the leaked script and in parentheses it said (like Deus Ex) I, like so many others, ran to the forums to complain. Unfortunately, I read all 900+ pages, but we were assured by Chris Priestly and Jessica M. that this was a beta script and things would change. The ending certainly didn't and as I was looking over some of the comments on that thread today, I came across this ...
"I wonder, just how Bioware can get away with an ending that essentially makes the goal of the Collectors and the entire plot of Mass Effect 2, pointless. I wonder how much creative freedom EA actually took from the development team in order to create a game that "appeals to a wider audience". Some of you may need to get a grip. If you do not demand quality, then companies will not produce it. It's the basics of Capitalism. Buy quality, and quality will be produced. The same can be said for the other end of the spectrum.
Read the spoilers for yourselves, or wait for the disappointment in March. It's your choice."
Shortly after that Chris P. shut the thread down and encouraged us to move to the non-spoiler one he created.
Several pages back a few people also remarked about the 1-Star Amazon reviews, I admit, I added to that group, I also purchased my XBox 360 Collector's Edition from them. But here's why. Amazon is a retail site. Many of us who spoke out and favored a 1-star review also gave the "Fun to Play" 4-5 stars. It simply is a way of saying to others if you are thinking about purchasing the game beware the ending is awful. I already knew the ending and was still heartbroken when it actually occurred. Could I honestly recommend this game to a friend as Dr. Ray said on the "whole" of it? Not likely, unless I plead with them ... Don't go into the light!
So in the end I, for one, have no one to blame but myself. I was the one who trusted them again.
