To be fair, this isn't EA's fault, it's the fault from completely irresponsible media who can't be bothered fact-checking before pushing articles out to demonize gamers. So yanno, nothing new there, they've never needed EA to paint us as overly entitled, bottom feeding basement dwellers.
I don't think this is Child's Play's fault, they simply feel that the negative attention they've apparently been getting from being indirectly associated with us outweighs the gains of keeping it open. The people we should be mad at are the people attacking them for allowing us to donate as a group.Carnage752 wrote...

In case you guys haven't noticed, the charity drive is winding down, apparently at the request of the Child's Play people, apparently because they've come under scrutiny due to people misunderstanding the charity and thinking the charity shares the same goals as the Retake movement.
I'm pretty sad that misinformation from media hyping this stuff up and painting us as the badguys is effectively costing sick children charity and entertainment. Figured this was pertinent to mention over on this thread, what with it all being about PR, and PR being responsible for the early shut down.
Who cares about them? We should stop helping children just because they don't want us to?
Ya, we are the evil ones.

Jessica Merizan is irrelevant.
Yes, she is. Has nothing to do with this thread. Well, unless you count it as PR.
Word. What purpose does she serve other than trying to put a human face on Bioware and collect feedback? No one should care about this.
Is she going to make the final decision on whether or not the end is fixed? No. She claims to collect data and feedback. Okay, so why does she need to post and tweet about it? All she has to do is collect the data (read posts) and stay quiet. There's already a stickied thread to make her job easier.
Ignore her. All she's trying to do is make people feel guilty for being upset with the ending.

Why do I think EA is behind those media stories? It seems Ea and Bioware would rather lie to fans and hurt sick kids. I had mega corporations.
Hold the line for as long as it takes people.

Many of those articles were published at the behest of EA PR. It's not like all those media orginizations actually give a crap about gamers are anything we do. They are being asked to publish articles downplaying and demonizing the upset.
All the games as art articles are part of the same effort. Just a different approach.
EA is behind all of it. They aren't standing on the sidelines quietly.

Absolute must read. I dont think I could have said any better myself. Says everything we have been saying to bioware all along. Hell I am half tempted to email this article to as many people at bioware as I can.

Fox News... that speaks for itself.
"furious fans" or "It's like if 'Star Wars' ended with the deaths of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia. For the love of God, give us a nice ending."
They are good at picking these provocative things. Most of the articles written by people who have played the game are missing our point. We don't necesserily want happy ending, but rather something that makes sence and reflects our choices through Mass Effect games.

She's a good person who has supported us and is vauable as an asset. The ongoing hate for her is nonsensical and counterproductive.
"Hope that's a good thing! What was your favorite moment in the game? "
"The reception has been soooo great! This fact alone is motivating! Stay tuned! "
"Thanks for the support! Glad you enjoyed it. Stay tuned for any news going forward."

Pretty double speak-ish, they can still claim "we never said we weren't, either, though". But this is pretty much why my concerns are not alleviated whatsoever by Doc's apology post. Adding a bit of elaboration and epilogue won't fix the ending, and I certainly won't be shelling out money for it.

I don't think that is double-speak. I think they are literally saying that they are not changing the ending. Dr. Senior Vice President and General Manager of the BioWare Label of Electronic Arts's statement was full of double-speak, but at no point does it claim that the ending will be changed. As other have pointed out, Bioware seems to think all we want is more closure.
I'm not mad at them. I'm mad at the people who wanted it closed to avoid us "using it" for a good PR. Ya, we give back to the community, we are totally evil.Hydralysk wrote...

No, they never said they were going to change the ending. The blog post specifically said they were going to "clarify" it.
We can assume that means they think those us of who want new endings are too stupid to understand the one we got. They will keep their ending but explain it to us. I honestly don't need an explanation, I got the ending. I just think it isn't fitting for the series. It is a complete dichotomy of everything else the series was about.
