Then go back to gamestop and sell it back. Then, either use that money and donate it to Child's Play, or buy another game. I know it will hurt, but it will hurt them too.

Idk about any others, but I for one am not breaking the line. I just enjoy the multiplayer and want to keep playing it, regardless of that "ending" we got for campaign.

some insider knowledge is always useful; a lot of what he said was already visable to many of us and really disheartning to see people falling for it.. but its nice to have the definitions and clear explanation of what they are doing..

You don't get it though. By playing the game at all you are showing EA you still have it and you are still playing it. If they only saw like 500 people playing the multiplayer, then they'd probably figure it was too cost ineffective to keep the servers up.

Unless there is confimartion they will not do anything about the ending, I intend to keep the game and get my monies worth. Up until the end, this has been nothing short of an amazing journey and I do fully intend to play through all the games again. But for now it just feels pointless to me.

Of course they are. Standard PR tactics work. Duck and dodge long enough and suddenly nobody is swinging at you anymore. This will blow over and they'll lose some core customers but make a hundred million in profit. The only solace I still have is that EA will ditch Bioware when they're not profitable enough. The reason will be because they'll be making totally crap games by then. They'll lose everything to EA and EA will move on to the next IP they think they can exploit.

I noticed the PR machine kicking in when they said "we are listening; however while you wait for us to confirm things, lets talk about the good stuff"

translation:  We are going to get you to talk about the bits you liked and maybe you'll slowly be desensitised to the ending of the game.

and then they do an N7 weekend to try and distract further...

Just hold the line people!

If there is one thing I like less that being misled - (that my choices would actually matter) - it's being handled like some some fringe lunatic, throwing a tantrum. I'm very close to being done with BioWare altogether... whether they release a "fix" to the ending, or not.

I am done. Now I just want to see the endings fixed for everyone else. So you can imagine my disgust when I see these people being so easily distracted by something like this.

Natural human reaction is to not dwell on dissappointing or depressing things and instead move on to the new distractions. Normal PR function is to supply distractions to trigger the natural human reaction and simply wait it out. And you call that disgusting.

I enjoy the Multiplayer, yet I'm a member of the Hold the Line, Retake Mass Effect group, I've donated to Child's Play, and I regularly come on here to show my support for the movement.

Do not tell me that I'm disgusting for wanting to enjoy the game I'm fighting for. I'm still a fan of Mass Effect and of BioWare, I still believe they will attempt to fix their mistake. Do not even think to tell me that by playing a community event in the game I paid for is disgusting.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be enjoying the game we are fighting for. And I'll still be holding the line, because what is the point in fighting if you won't even support the game and it's community anymore?

This has been said many times over, in multiple threads. But you can't stop people comming up with theories and grasping straw. It is sort of a panic situation. I can even tell you what Bioware will do. The same as they did with DA2. Do you see alot of complaints at the DA2 site? Not anymore. Bioware if they want can wait for months or a year.

I am not sure what would satisfy me more atm. That Bioware fixed ME3 or that they don't and the company goes down because customers don't like their general business attitude. Either would be a proper ending to my Bioware intermezzo, because after ME3, no matter how it ends, I am out.

You're right to have that concern.  And if you are right, here's what I'm going to do:

MASS EFFECT 3 has been killed in my eyes.  I won't play it again, as is, nor will I go back to parts 1 and 2.  The journey is fun, but it leads to a pool of sh!t, and I just have no diesre to put myself through that.

Effective immediately:  ME3 has been put on my gaming shelf.  If I play any video games this weekend, it'll be SKYRIM, which I'm still working on.

If I don't hear anything about ME3 this month:  I cancel my pre-order for both waves of action figures.  I don't buy ANY DLC for ME3 that doesn't fix the ending.

Long term:  I write off EA and BioWare.  No more games from either.  No ME4, ME Online, DA III, whatever...

Just not going to happen.

I don't say this out of entitlement.  But rather from a place of preference.  ME3 is awful in its current version.  Game breaking, in my eyes.  My time/money will be spent on things that won't burn me like MASS EFFECT has.  And that's going to cost BioWare at least one customer from now on.

But I suspect it'll be more.

I'll be doing the same, except a bit more on the single player to see how a few things play out.  But the main point is Bioware will not see any dollars from me from this moment until they fix Mass Effect 3.  (Which is really ging to hurt if they ever add to Jade Empire.)

PR damage control is serious business and I suspect your dealing with professionals now, people who spin tobacco and drug company fallout daily.

Assess the situation:

– Trend the volume of response and the type of consumer reaction over time: Is it growing or waning? Is it supportive or negative? How is this changing over time?

– If consumers are demanding a response, be sure that the initial upswell of outrage has passed and that the issue is, in fact, continuing. The online audience is fickle – if something more interesting breaks in the news, they may abandon your issue to move on to something more “important.”

– DO NOT RESPOND too quickly, too thoroughly, in too much of a ‘corporate’ tone or via a press release posted on your website (as the sole response mechanism). These tactics are typically not well-received in the social media landscape.

i must say i will probably be taking part of this, because of the rarity of the weapons.
However, my feelings on the ending of the game are unchanged, as are the feelings for bioware and EA.
There is no multiplayer pack or event that will fix that, only addressing the problems with the ending can do that.

The biggest problem is that it was signed off on.... how can any reasonable game tester not raise his hand and pipe up the ending is does not live up to the quality of the game, nor does it reflect the character's development or choices....

A simple 2 or three more cut scenes with character that you saved or consquences if you didn't save them would ease the complete disconnect the gamer feels to the ending.

In fact this is the best example of "Suspense of Disbelief" the ending is so out of charater with the rest of the game that gamers out right disbelieve it even took place. Instead prefering to just believe that non of it even happend that Shephard is just indoctrinated and / or hallusenating.... As a seasoned D&D players i believe that best way to sum up the reaction i got from it is..... "um DM..... I choose to disbelieve!"

What doesn't fit into the damage control mentality is the vague and cryptic hints dropped by different employees on Twitter. All of them seem to imply there is something up their sleeve. Now I would be very surprised if this were true, but these comments are strange to say the least. If they were in damage control mode, and there is nothing else coming, then those comments are utterly inflammatory.

The comment that really gets to me is the one that stated "if you knew what was coming, you'd feel different. You'd want to keep your ME3 disc forever." I'm paraphrasing, but that was the basic message. It was in response to criticism of the endings. If the content coming down the pipe is new multi-player characthers, weapons, side quests, or community events, then they are way off base. Those things are not going to placate the disappointed fans. They do not address the issue at hand.

Of course, I'm not sure how I feel about an extended or altered ending. If all of this negative reaction causes them to go back to the drawing board under duress and whip something up to satisfy everyone, I'm very skeptical of the potential quality under those circumstances. The only way this works is if it was planned all along. In that case, I'm not sure how I feel about that as a plan of gaming and storytelling.

I do think it would make a huge impact if nobody played this weekend.  I would prefer to see that happen.  But you have every right to play it and enjoy it if that's your choice.

Not only don't I care about their N7 weekend I haven't even activated MP on my ME3. I do have it registered though, so my copy is in their system as being owned, but NOT participating in MP access at all. I considered it, but made the choice not to for the single fact of the ending and the need for it to be changed.

I don't like their suggestion that they'll "discuss" the ending at some point. I've had it up to my ears with discussion, explanation, and exposition. I'd like to see some action!

Hold the line people. I like the observation that the decision lies with the corporate side of the business. If it is found that not fixing the ending will lose money, they won't decide to not do it just to spite us.
