atghunter's arguments have convinced me that it's extremely unlikely.
I still want to hope that this is all a huge ruse, brilliantly planned by a PR mastermind to disguise the real ending patch before its release. As if that'd ever be the case. I doubt Bio/EA's PR has anything special going on, given how atghunter has been predicting their moves so well.
Very well written atghunter, and very well formatted, Bachuck!

I apologize to all, I'm not a native English speaker and I struggle to understand many words. I wanted to ask you at a glance: the words of Casey Hudson and Jessica Merizan may actually be a starting point to hope for something?
Regardless of what they said, Never give up Hope.
Hope is what's driving this cause ... And Hope is what will make it Prevail. It's like we're all Commanders Shepards, Refusing to be turned into Mindless Machines

To say the least, we just didn't see those endings coming and many of us both here in BSN and outside of it are just very much dissappointed with them but at the same time do not dicredit the rest of the game/series which were amazing.
True. As one of my friends said, if he didn't love the rest of the game so much, he wouldn't be disappointed at all.

Im sorry but i don't see any of our names in the credits, they are not our stories, we played and picked our pathes from from pre determined cause and effect chains written by bw, yes they all led to stinky nothingness but oh well :/ besides endings are kinda what reapers always said salvation through destruction, whatever new life comes wont have to worry about reapersNovouto wrote...

I want what all you guys want. I want a better ending. But the fact is they wont give us a better or alternate ending. Ever. The sooner you guys just accept that the sooner this pointless thread(s) will stop clogging up the forums.
The endings are exactly how the writers envisioned them to be - perhaps displayed in different ways but essentially, the story is the same. No author will just accept a major alteration in THEIR story based on internet QQ.
The nature of these games makes your argument flawed. They are OUR stories now. And they railroaded us into three terrible endings.
This is exactly why you don't give up in a public outcry. If you stop and let go, you are showing that corporations can squash your desires. Bioware was once an amazing company... but this has corporate control written all over it.

1) Making the current complaints seem like a small portion of the fanbase. This seems a very strange thing to do, considering the amount of public support on twitter:BSN:Facebook and various news media. It understand that they want to try and make it seem like nothing, but they run the risk of alienating people even further and hurting themselves in the long run
2) it seems like bad business to get this many people angry and disappointed. They might feel as if they are winning but in reality they are causing huge damage to the franchise name and at the same time making sure that the fanbase dont return for the next game. Its very hard to regain the respect of customers once its lost.
3) They seem to think that gaming sites is whats selling games these days. The other day i saw a guy posting some sales graphs and explaining how extremely important word of mouth is for sales. So why try and limit this by further frustrating the fanbase when the fix is as easy as entering into a dialog with the fans. After the initial preorder sales, alot of people buy games off the recommendation of friends, so in my opinion they are only making things worse.
4) even if they "win" and we all stop talking about it, what exaclty have they gained from this? A loss of a substansial part of the fanbase, lost credibility, lost sales both now and maybe also in the future.
In my view it seems alot more like "bruised egos" than actual busines sense. If they really valued money above all else, it would never have gotten this far. It baffles me why they dont spend the money now and make a few tweaks and changes instead of gambling everything on the fact that it wont hurt them in the long run

I can imagine. I just wish people would keep this civil. We complain because we care, not because we intend to be mean - at least some of us. For me Bioware has been a company I can trust to deliver a quality gaming experience for some time now, but the ending of ME3 just shook that trust at its very foundation. I think a lot of people are probably asking themselves how this could be overlooked or what went wrong. The ending however does not take away the fact that Mass Effect is a great game, probably game of the year if the endings gets fixed - at least in my book. One of the reasons the reaction is so strong is because the game was so damn good up until the last 10 minutes, I am not kidding you. But even then people that put their trust into Bioware as excellent developers feel genuinely betrayed because we did not get what we were promised (I am sure you are aware of the 'no abc ending' quote). And honestly I don't blame them.Jarrett Lee wrote...

There's no voodoo at work here - I'm just sitting on my couch reading this on my iPad, it has been a difficult week, I'm very tired.
You mentioned it's been a difficult week. Out of curiosity, why has it been a difficult week?
Again out of curiosity, and if you don't mind me asking are you a (just) forum moderater or one of the developers?
Im the senior marketing guy....one of them. Have been for the whole franchise really. I can't tell if your question is serious or if yer messing with methe fan reaction is difficult to watch, after all the hard work basically. I'm not a moderator really, just an employee.
Here is a question. Why would we go into this uproar if we did not care about ME and Bioware?

Fantastic thread, thank you! Really enlightening. I think atghunter is right to say that this is a 'fight' between company and consumer. My question is; what can we do to improve our chances?
Say the truth. The game is unsatisfactory. Tell anyone who'd listen. Express your opinion where ever there are reviews or polls. Do so in tacfull way as not to make yourself prone to critics attacks.
And.
HOLD THE LINE.
