I cannot say anything that hasn't already been mentioned a thousand times over various different social medias. Over thirty hours in ME3 alone boiled down to ten minutes of colossal disappointment at the end where it mattered the most.

Call me picky, spoiled and even unreasonable but I have doubts that a couple of DLC;s will fill the hole of disappointment and the feeling of betrayal even if they do manage to give us proper endings that answers our questions and gives us closure. Basically, I feel as if I paid for a car with no wheels or a TV that only came with the remote control.

DA2 was a pretty but overall bad game, but even in its terrible-ness it ended in an interesting way. Surely you haven't forgotten how to make incredible games, BioWare?

EDIT: Maybe in ME4 we can actually focusing on -fighting-  The Reapers instead of Cerberus?

Here's hoping for a ME4 that annihilates past silliness.

Regardless...The 20th of Blue Lions reporting in. Holding The Line in Norway. o>

Most of these things you see as olive branches aren't that at all. They are part of the already planned launch period of ME3 (Star Wars I can't speak for). The N7 MP weekend was planned some time ago - before the ending situation came to light. Not everything revolves around this controversy. It's just unfortunate timing. Same goes for the recent strategy videos for example - we filmed those weeks ago. I think Corey and Eric did a great job in them and was dismayed at the vitriol in the YouTube comments.

You're complaints are being heard, and considered and discussed etc, but I wouldn't read so much into some of the marketing stuff we're doing. I know a lot of you won't buy that - i cant "prove it" - but I've actually always been honest with you guys all the way back to ME1. Operation Goliath is an event we planned because the multiplayer is really fun, and we want to engage the players with it (i just completed the challenge tonight myself!). Of course we had events and releases planned for the week after launch-week. There are no nefarious scheming evil meetings on this topic. We take it seriously, and are discussing it internally. Nobody is happy or dismissive about the fan reaction, at BioWare. Quite the opposite really. These are good people who care deeply about the work they do.

I would suggest patience but not sure there's receptiveness to that at this point.

Guess that's all I wanted to say for now. Have a good night/weekend.

Thank you for giving a detailed and reasonable response. Sadly some people will see this as another marketting spin (even though what you said is perfectly logical and happens after all major games releases).

Perhaps they should make you the spokesperson...

I think the problem we have here is that people want a new ending and they want it now. At the same time, that's asking a creative team at Bioware to take the story in a direction they didn't intend.

Thus, the joys of gaming come to full fruition - it's not an art, it's not a business, it's a hybrid of both. The artists must do what they can to keep artistic vision, and the consumer must give the writers enough freedom to go against expectations. Of course, when the backlash is this bad, the writers have to pull back.

I think what could possibly help Bioware on this is if they announced, "yes, we're going to release an ending DLC. Right now we're weighing options and storyboarding it, and it will take some time to develop. In the mean time, we had all these events set up already and we're going to go through with them. We're not ignoring you; quite the opposite, we're listening to you. But we need time to develop an ending DLC."

Something along those lines would really help with the majority of those who are upset. Certainly you'd get some who wouldn't even be happy with that, but who cares about those few? They don't make up the vast majority who would be content with a simple admission that ending DLC is on its way.

Thank you so much for this insight. As an avid fan of chess, the PR move-and-countermove dance is very interesting to witness. Looking forward to future updates and explanations of the behind-the-scenes situation.

I think they're going to have to do something like get everyone who finishes the ending to answer a simple yes i liked it or not i didn't. Too see if we are right if they really think we're a minority.

Tell your friends to vote when they finish the game!!!

I'm feeling pretty down after reading this. I knew that PR has BIG plays, but never knew THIS BIG. Yet I still believe, that they aren't that dumb, to let one of their biggest franchise ever down along with it's fans. I still have hope. I will hold the line. You shall too!
Sorry for my English :)

That's the beauty of it. It's not just dissatisfied Americans or people from any country where English is the primary language, whom we can assume would take up a rather substantial share of the market. It's something a lot of people globally can agree on. I'm Danish, and the scope of this gave me a tiny chill. No need to feel down yet. We've got 'em all shapes and sizes, and they're NOT happy!

I just want to say thank you all for holding the line and I hope you will continue to do so. We have not gotten close to victory yet but we are getting closer and with them stalling more and more I think it must mean they are getting close to caving. I am pretty sure that if the first few pieces of DLC don't sell as well as EA thought they would they will have to start work on new endings. Now it could take a month or so before they decide that(I think they are still hoping this blows over)so please continue to hold the line so that this movement doesn't become a punchline. I know it is hard to pass up multiplayer but just remember this isn't just about this game other game companies are watching and if we win this they will be a lot more careful about making false or misleading claims about their products. We are not just fighting for ME3 any more we are fighting for every gamer out their even if they don't know it. thank you very much for all standing together.

Hold the line as long as it takes people.

It's very well done and It explains a lot of things that would make sense if you decide to change the Ending.

As heavy handed as this is, at certain moments, it's far more logical and far superior to what we got. Bioware, just take the story your fans have handed you, wrap it up into some DLC, and let us finish this epic contentedly.

I return to hold the line with my comrades in arms, comrades that come from many places and many view points but all see the wrong that has been committed against us as the fans and Mass Effect as a game series we all have loved.

Remaining civil, on topic as best I can, away from any DLC and Multiplayer, and at the line with my compatriots, united.

While it is good to know that we're getting feedback and Bioware does (at least) seem to be listening taking the situation seriously, I think a lot of people (Bioware AND us fans included) have missed a key point. Mass Effect was a labor of love for the team(s) that spent years crafting a beautiful and rich game world; a world that we wanted to be a part of, and that is a victory. But at the same time, Bioware may have created it, they may have assembled and written the world, but WE'RE the ones who played it, WE'RE the ones who invested time, effort, money, and for many of us, a piece of ourselves into that story. We crafted our own idealized image of Commander Shepard, and carried that image through three games, shaping and molding that character all the while. You can mouth all you want about entitlement and artistic integrity (I'm a professional fiction writer; I know a thing or two about artistic integrity), but in the end, it's as much OUR story as it is THEIRS, and when it all had to culminate at the peak and mean something, when Shepard's choices and sacrifices had to come together, it failed to do so. I don't want sugar and lollipops for my ending. I want my choices to matter.

Hold the Line.

I hate how BioWare is using their customers as a sort of Cerberus experiment... It was not nice what they did and am likely to never buy a BioWare product on day one again. For future games, I'll wait for more complete versions, and when their price is cheap because I don't feel like they deserve my full patronage after this stunt to the community...
