Atghunter, I've seen alot of people cancelling their Star Wars: Old Republic accounts in protest. I would like your opinion on whether or not you see this as a valid and viable tactic. Do you think it helps or hurts this movement?
For my take (not even from a PR view but just from just being a consumer), actions like this are always viable responses. It is one of the many ways customers vote with their wallets. The effect though would seem to be hard to measure (especially from this past weekend with the free SW promo) so it may be a week or two before even EA would have data. And they definitely won't let you know you're having an impact. Statements, a common voice, efforts like Take Back all are pieces on the chessboard. Likewise, expressing displeasure individually towards a company through refusing to solicit them (even for services you might otherwise purchase) so long as the company knows you are no longer soliciting the service out of protest (sending them an accompanying e-mail, etc explaining your action) is another potential piece.
And, of course, as I've said before, whether or not, it's to be done, I'll differ to collective discussions and individual decisions
Hope that helps!
