Amazon is giving me a refund on my opened CE.

Sweet!

Maybe I can find another game that doesn't crush my soul to spend that $80 on.

I don't see why they wouldn't.

Just hope you don't have to wait three plus years.

Another one bites the dust. Another hit to the bottom line.

I wish BioWare would give some guidance.

Perhaps the best way to hold the line.

Thats nice of them, but don't you think you perhaps should wait until the official Bioware response on the matter?.  Just saying.

You're getting rid of the game just because of the ending? I'm not entirely satisfied with the ending either, but the other 99% percent of the game is amazing. Multiplayer could use a little work, but... I don't know of anyone bought this game for the multiplayer.

Me, I'm willing to wait for a full exspansion with an alternate ending packaged in. I figured DLC as inevitable anyway; now they can use it as a means to give us a better ending.

They did something similar for DA2. It's nice of them to do that. Most companies won't let you return games.

Nothing is stopping him from re-purchasing it down the road. Perhaps he can use that $80 for something else in the meantim.

The lack of response IS the response. I've worked in the industry for nearly a decade. Based on what I found out today there is no reason to keep it.

So, you completely beat the game, didn't like the ending and are now getting a refund? Sounds cheap to me.

see no offense but if I was Amazon I wouldn't give refunds on opened merchandise. Especially not Collectors Editions of games, because that opens a can of worms where people can buy the game, redeem the codes, make copies of the artbook and litho, and then return it for a full refund. Good thing for you guys I don't run Amazon, because you wouldn't like me.

They are playing a game, by their own admission and tweets they have said so.  An announcement is coming soon when they consider enough have played.  The only thing you have to decide is do you want to wait for that announcement or not.

You're a lucky guy, OP. Origin don't give refunds. My 100 USD are gone and there's no solution. Too much money for such a disappointment. I really do hope, there will be an alternative ending dlc, so I can play my expensive DEE again. Otherwise Mass Effect 3 was the greatest mistake in my gamer career.

Amazon has a great reputation. I make a lot of purchases there. I don't think they were required to take back a used game.

I agree with Mike Shepard and a few others here. It's nice of them to refund the game, but considering how things are with Product keys, especially for a CE version, that can cause a lot of problems.

Me? I wouldn't return a game just because it had a 'crappy' ending. I don't buy games just to end them. I buy games to actually play them.

Works for me. I would be more likely to then buy a different product from Amazon, than from EA/Bioware, after that level of customer service! Then if I didn't have problems with it, buy more stuff later.  Repeat business.

Personally, I return any game I buy that ships with serious game-stopping bugs. Or games where by definitive advertising promises one or more things that are not in the product!
