I really hate the ending. I really want to return all of my Mass Effect Games.....but something just tells me that I shouldn't.
It's my Inner Gamer. I know the ending sucks, but I can't bring myself to return them, but the offer is really cool.

What would returning them do?

It's not like when you return them, GameStop calls up BioWare and says "This guy traded in your games so we need X amount of money back from you"

The ending isn't that bad that it makes the other games useless. Well nevermind.. ME2 is, but that game was just terrible so that doesn't count. ME1 is still great.

Actually, yes, that's exactly what can happen. The distributers can turn around on the publishers and developers and pressure them due to so many people not being happy with their purchases. One or two returns won't do it, but yeah, this is a viable strategy for rebelling against the ending.

You can pry my ME3 CE from my cold dead hands!

I am dissapointed with the ending like everyone else but this thread is a perfect example of "spoiled brats" the haters are talking about, if you played a game and enjoyed most of it but the 1% you act like a big boy and a big girl and deal with it.

So you would be perfectly happy if "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" ended with you talking Bastila down, only to run into a mysterious timetraveler from the distant past, who explains that Sith are eventually going to rise and kill everyone else... and so he gives you access to three completely unexplained and reality-warping options and leaves you to pick one?

You know... despite that it doesn't make any sense within the context of the game and universe as a whole?

EDIT: Control the Sith, destroy all Force users, or disconnect everything from the Force.

While I am not a fan of the Visitor method, I would say this sounds like a terrific way to explain why ancient technologies are often found to be so overwhelmingly powerful in the RPG franchises. And if the choices are tough, simply choose the one that really peeves your worst enemy. In this case, your former employer.....

Nothing to do with Bioware. Depending on the deal Amazon have with EA , then EA will just have to eat the loss or Amazon feel a short term loss is worth good customer relations. This thread for example has been nothing but good PR for Amazon.

So with EA also refunding copies now , does the franchise have a future ? What is going on behind the scenes ? Why the change of heart of giving refunds ?

True, it can't help but put Amazon in a good light and unfortunately can't give a little bad light on BW/EA...

So you played the whole game and then asked for a refund? That's like going to a restaurant and eating your whole meal and then demanding a refund because you didn't like the dessert.

You sicken me.

I've paid the same amount of money for far less quality games. This whole Bioware bashing is getting old. Amazon is stupid to give refunds so easily. And the fact that the US have a 30 day refund period for something like video games just explains why they are in a economic crysis.

Don't get me wrong, great for customers looking to exploit the system, bad for business'.

Are you just this bad of a troll or really this dumb?

Maybe you just didn't actually read anything beyond the first post....

Trolling implies that I am making statements without reason. Also why am I dumb when I comment on the topic of the thread? The subtext of this thread is obviously about the supposed bad qaulity of the game, I disagree. I also disagree with some consumer laws in the US, this is connected to the subject of this thread.

So either respond with a counter argument or take some time to think of one.

Calling me dumb makes you the troll. Image IPB

Because just admitting that you are commenting on the subject without actually reading any of the body kind makes you a dumb troll.

I don't need a counter arguement because it's been done numerous times in this thread by myself and several others for those lazy trolls who simply post without reading based on the subject.

Why should I have to read the first few pages if all the info should be in the OP, which makes it sound like you asked for a refund because you didn't like the game.

You seriously have to be trolling at this point. Last I checked a person can't solo carry on a conversation with a group. How exactly could I include the counter to your ridiculous analogy before you make it?

Oh wait, I understand, I should have gotten the Star Child to send me back in time so I could include responses to ALL possible comments in the OP.

rofl

PS. My OP was simply an announcement to the community at large that Amazon was verified to give refunds. I wasn't expecting the contrarey just to be contrarey crowd to come out of their holes to blast something that doesn't actually have anything to do with them.

He couldn't know the product wasn't what it was advertised to be before he had played it.

Are you seriously advocating that people should accept getting a different product than what they were led to believe they were buying?

Peope are stupid that way.

"HOW DARE YOU NOT BE SATISIFIED WITH AN INCOMPLETE PRODUCT THAT'S DISPLEASED THE MAJORITY! I LIKED IT!"

-or-

If said person didn't like the ending either. This is what's wrong with consumers. No spine at all. "Well, I spent good money on a product I wasn't satisfied with, but golly gee, I can't do anything about that." This is why **** gets tossed in the closet, no one's got the balls to march back to the store and demand a refund. <_<

Kudos to OP
Kudos to Amazon, hope you get reimbursed.

I hope that the OP is genuine and honest to himself, and will not try to abuse the retailer's goodwill in the future. I am afraid once you find out you can 'game the system' this way, you will do it again and again, while rationalize yourself away. Claiming that a game is completely worthless AFTER finishing the WHOLE GAME is quite absurd (I just can't figure out how you can endure to finish the whole game if you don't enjoy it). In psychology, there is a term about this kind of self-rationalization, it is called 'self deception' (please google this term and learn more about it).

One thing you should understand is that, despite how you hate the ending, there are many honest and hard working people who had put countless hours to produce a game; those people have a right to their livelihood. If most people behaves like you do, it is the honest people that get hurt.

If you are truly sincere and honest, I would suggest that in the future, you should NOT pre-ordering or buying any games early. You should do more research and read more customer's review. Please do not do this again, DON'T play the WHOLE game and then refund it. Thank you.

You're getting rid of the game just because of the ending? I'm not entirely satisfied with the ending either, but the other 99% percent of the game is amazing. Multiplayer could use a little work, but... I don't know of anyone bought this game for the multiplayer.

Me, I'm willing to wait for a full exspansion with an alternate ending packaged in. I figured DLC as inevitable anyway; now they can use it as a means to give us a better ending.

My brother did. He never played ME/ME2, but after seeing me play ME3 multiplayer, he bought it. Hopefully I will manage to convince him to play ME/ME2/ME3 singleplayer :)

I wont be pre-ordering a game from Bioware again. Bank on that.

However, I typically pre-order CE's of anything I find interesting before release. Considering the amount of games I have purchased since I was using DOS 2.11 and this is the first I've ever returned.......Perhaps your selfcontrol is so weak that you couldn't resist something you could abuse once you found out but mine is not.

By the way, could you maybe try sounding a bit more pretencious? I'm pretty sure you could but I had to google that term and learn more about it.

Perhaps you should read this thread a bit more closely and you will see time and again why many of us have returned the game, myself included. You'll also see just how ridiculous your families are getting hurt idea really is. The mortgage bankers who've destroyed millions of families over greed and the oil speculators currently screwing us with gas prices have familes too. Should I just accept thier bull**** because they have familes?

While trying to avoid taking the politically scented bait, the OP should be aware that the the quoted insight above is indeed how some people see this. And such behaviour hurts all when it goes unchallenged.

Well, this is the first time I have ever returned a product to Amazon. I am normally very happy with what I buy from them. I can honestly say I had no desire to waste another 30 hours on Mass Effect 3. I fail to see whats wrong with getting our money back as Bioware never delivered on their promises regarding the endings. I buy PC games for REPLAYABILITY, not for 1 playthrough with a crappy ending. Why the hell should I have to keep this game? I've pre ordered Fall of the Samurai on Amazon instead.

I have often returned games that were not fit for purpose. That is my right as a UK citizen and I intend to excercise it when I deem fit. I do not return every game, maybe 1 in 10.

Not really my problem. If I feel mislead by the games advertising I will seek remedy.

I do want to return my copy to EA and tell them how it hurts me.
But I can't.
This is a disaster when I decided to pay for it at the cashier desk. The one I can't stop.

It is when when the rising cost in games has such examples to use to justify increases. The serpent devouring its tail all over again.
