Any chance Gamestop can give me some kind of refund?

Not if you opened it. Thankfully.

Whatever man. Not everyone is 100% satisfied with the game, I held off from buying some other titles just to drop $80 on this disappointment.

I love Amazon (and bought my copy from them as well), which is why I am not going to return it and punish them for Bioware's failing to deliver on their boasts about the ending and their failure to adhere to their own established continuity. I'll be expressing my discontent by not purchasing anything else from Bioware or EA new.

I have very little faith that the endings will be altered in any manner, based on what little has been said, and their facebook/twitter comments only solidify that opinion for me. They will be "Discussing the ending," when enough people have played it. That tells me that they don't want to throw out too many spoilers yet because the game is still so new and lots of folks haven't gotten to the ending yet. Once they are comfy with spoilers, I suspect that they are going to give us the big reveal as to the thought behind what they did and why it should be accepted. I hope that I am wrong. I expect that I am not.

So, you completely beat the game, didn't like the ending and are now getting a refund? Sounds cheap to me.

Glad someone else said it first. You played the game, you got your money's worth, asking for a refund is just...dumb. And its a bad move on Amazon's part.

Got my money's worth is a matter of opinion. Based on the amount of lies and bait and switch crap in this game, I simply disagree.

You played the whole game. Regardless if you liked it or not, you played it. Thus got your money's worth out of it.

Because you played the whole game, you don't deserve a refund. It's like sitting through a bad movie and at the end asking for your money back. It's ridiculous.

Paying for **** and smiling about it is ridiculous. Getting a refund makes sense.

No one is eager to prevent others from getting their refunds. It just seems cheap. Like eating the entire dinner and then telling your waitress it sucked and refusing to pay for it. Or going to watch a movie, sitting through the entire thing and then complaining about the ending and demanding your money back.

The worth of someone's money is 100% subjective. You may have gotten your money's worth but being forced to play MP when the dev's swore you wouldn't, and not getting the hugely varied not A, B, or C ending we were promised is simply not what I paid for.

Hopefully you can comprehend that your opinion isn't greater than anyone else's opinion and stop arguing like it is.

Hm..good thing I got my CE on Amazon. I'll definitely return it next week if Bioware/EA keeps on keeping silent about this ending fiasco.

Who the hell are you to determine whether another individual got what they wanted out of a product?  Serious question.

Because, as someone else said, its like going to a restaurant and ordering a meal. Eating it and then complaining about it and not paying for it.

You opened it, you played it, therefore you got your money's worth. Whether you like it or not, you don't deserve a refund if you finished the game. If you, say, played a few minutes and hated it, yeah maybe. But not if you played the entirety of the game and then decided it. That's cheap.

Actually, it's more like eating a steak, and the last bite is entirely raw and oozes blood all over your face.
And that's why he complains and demands compensation.

I respect Amazon's business ethics for allowing this.

However, this kind of reaction is what ruins a lot of the more level-headed "The ending was really bad" arguments. It's also an affront to the artistic process of the medium. We shouldn't be allowed to strong-arm creativity away, no matter how terrible it is.

I think Amazon will put the cost back on BioWare/EA.

Personally, I keeping my copy. I ate the sandwich. Live and learn. I'll change my behavior in the future.

How does refund even work with all the online registration nonsense (Origin and possibly BSN)?

- Wrong analogy. This dinner made some people "sick" to the point where they went to the bathroom and threw up all the meals they had eaten that day.

And if a movie is sufficiantly bad, and has been sufficiantly wrongly advertized, people will do just that. I know I would. I would at least try.

No, it seems that you don't understand the purpose of a refund.

Generally, if you aren't satisfied with a product or service you paid for, you can ask for your money back and return the product to where ever you bought it from.

What makes ME3 any different or excluded from that idea?

A respectable company would not offer a refund on a completely used product, end of story. It's like trying to return a pair of jeans you wore, washed, and shrunk, because they didn't fit anymore. Just doesn't happen.

Wow... just wow. That is a HORRIBLE analogy. Because this happens all the time and resturants are actually very quick to swallow that pill at least once or twice a day.

Another reason that's a bad analogy is because sometimes everything is fine until you notice a finger nail in the last bite or some other equally bad circumstance.

Again, you are saying I got my money's worth like your opinion of the value of my money somehow trumps mine. Are you really this dense, or just stubborn.

Your argument is ridiculous in many other contexts. For instance, how about if you buy a Dr. Pepper and chug it down only to get a mouthful of rat in the last swallow. By your arguement you drank the entire can and didn't like the ending so you can't return it or sue the manufacturer.

Respectable?

More like an arrogant and pompous company.
And your analogy is flawed. He didn't accidentally break the DVD or lose the manual.
He was unsatisfied with the product, and it's the product's fault.

You HAVE to be trolling at this point. There is absolutely NO WAY you can own that few brain cells and still continue to breathe...

JCP
Applebee's
On The Border
Wal-Mart
Chili's
GameStop
Walden Books
Amazon
E-Bay

this list will literally go on and on... you have failed.

You're getting rid of the game just because of the ending? I'm not entirely satisfied with the ending either, but the other 99% percent of the game is amazing. Multiplayer could use a little work, but... I don't know of anyone bought this game for the multiplayer.

Me, I'm willing to wait for a full exspansion with an alternate ending packaged in. I figured DLC as inevitable anyway; now they can use it as a means to give us a better ending.

AMEN! I have a very hard time believing Liara and/or what ever LI you have would just leave in the Normandy without knowing what happened to Shepard, look at what Liara went through just to retrieve a body for ME2..

I won't even mind paying for a harder to reach ending, that was atleast believable and true to the storyline! (and yes, I'm so addicted I wrote my own alt. ending! I know too much time on my hands...)
