Amazon is giving me a refund on my opened CE.

Sweet!

Maybe I can find another game that doesn't crush my soul to spend that $80 on.

lol so either you made a dumb move when the DLC ending comes.. or you made a dumb move staying here because you no longer are a Mass Effect fan.. either way your decisions don't matter! you're still dumb.

PS. Returning the game and cancelling my TOR accounts, plans to get any DLC, plans to pre-order DA3 is simply a way to illustrate that I'm one of the small minority that will vote with my bank account.

That relates to $45 a month from TOR, 160ish from ME3 and DA3, and based on ME2 about 60ish+ from ME3 DLC. Now, multiply that amount of cash from me by, say, just 10000 people who might actually vote with their wallets and that's ALOT of money.

I'm sticking to my copy. To me, it turned into a symbol of my naiveness and crushed hopes, a symbol of a beautiful thing ruined by last seconds of it. No more hope, no dreams, no pleasure. Only pain is left.

Why would you want to keep that kind of a symbol?

To teach myself a lesson - it's the end that counts, and not the journey.

All that's left now is for you to leave the forums. I have said this once and I will say it again. If you've made up your mind then leave.

You're premature and irrational.

I hope you don't regret it if they put something out to fix the endings.

Not really, glad I didn't get the CE, considering I got the game for free because I didn't get the CE and the only thing I really missed was alternate appearance packs and an avatar prop. Though maybe next time you shouldn't get the CE if you're going to return it a week later :wizard:.

Who exactly made you forum police? I own quite a few Bioware products, including the first two games in this series. My name is also in the credits of NWN SoU, so forgive me for not instantly obeying your meaningless demand to leave the forums.

If they actually resolve this crap then I'll likely repurchase the game, but the odds of that are slim to none so I will be monitoring and probably even participating in this community for as long as I'm capable.

<sarcasm> Yes, because I always buy the CE and then play it and return it. </sarcasm>

This is the first time I've returned a game at all and far from the first CE I've purchased.

There are very few games out their that have character creation, good story, and I can play on my console. I can't play anything on my computers.

It's your own fault, if the ending was going to affect you so drastically that you wanted to return it maybe you should've waited for reviews or the fan response. Fortunately for you, you got a refund.

I think its pretty safe to say they didnt have alternate endings or "expanded" endings planned as DLC. So that means what... 3-5 months before we can play it? Easy? Thats alot of time to be living with hostile fans and bad press.

And thats assuming they even want to tweak the things. Im not convinced they will. And no singleplayer afficionado will shell out for MP or even other DLC before they have the ending under wraps. Because why bother setting yourself up for another dissapointment? Who is that flaggelantic?

For the 7 millionth time, not liking the ending is not why I returned it.

Full of plot holes
Totally nonsensical
Total bait and switch with SP and MP

Being butthurt because Shepard dies has nothing to do with it.

How long did it take Bethesda to release Broken Steel after the original Fallout 3 release?

Speaking of Bethesda, they take their share of criticism, but the fact they actually listened to fans and released Broken Steel after such outrage over the original FO3 ending, speaks volumes about their post-release commitment, IMO.

Actually its one of the most rational responses I've seen to this game.
To vote with his wallet is the most reasonable thing a customer can do.

It's their prerogative. The longer BioWare waits, the more this will happen. The fans are speaking with their wallets. Now it's BioWare's turn to respond.

Returning a game you played and beat is just messed up regardless of whether you liked it or not. If enough people do this Amazon will have to rethink that policy.

News flash m'dear, Amazon is FAR bigger than EA and probably pays more in self promotion costs than they will lose in refunds. Giving a refund just got a 100% loyal customer who spends somewhere in the area of 1000 to 1500 dollars a year on games. I think $87 is probably not going to bother them much in return for my business.

PS. They've been doing this for years, this is just the first time I've even returned a game.

That's pretty wicked that you got to play the game for free then get all your money back. It's like a free rent with all the collector's edition shiznit. Ethically however, I can't condone this.
