Nope. Just the muffled sobs of Blizzard and AreaNet crying into each other's shoulders.

I find it funny how the OP thinks this even hurts Blizzard or Arena Net.
Who was the last guy to step to Bethesda? Oh right, Peter Molyneux.
And we all know what happened to him.

Zenimax Online Studios has been a very well kept secret up to this point. Zenimax received massive levels of funding for it on a scale that rivals even SWTOR and did it without selling out to EA by going to private investors
They've been developing this title for years and we know almost nothing about it except that the lead developer is from Mythic.
The fact that ZeniMax (the parent company) is able to find financial backing for projects like Skyrim and this MMO means they can give their games the development time they need (4 years +) and not be pressured by an EA or an Activision for early release.
All of that means I think this could potentially be a very interesting addition to the MMO community, on top of the fact that it's unlikely to be another WoW clone.

Like I said it's funny you think this will hurt WoW or GW2 in anyway. If the Elder Scrolls is anything but a sandbox MMO it will fail imo.

This isn't Bethesda that developed Skyrim or The Elder Scrolls, that's like saying BioWare Austin developed Dragon Age 2 or Mass Effect 3.

Indeed, in one aspect: Possibley no player run guilds. You could join the Mages Guild, Dark Brotherhood and the Fighters Guild to group up. No dealing with egomaniacal guild leaders or guild selling.

It'll hurt them because it will most likely break every MMO rule in book.

Since WoW's release in 2004, 23 different mmo's have been released. Most have since shut down their servers, a few have become free to play, and only two still have significant subscription numbers(SWTOR and Rift). Diablo 2 still reports more activity on b.net than most of those free to play mmos, and it's outdated. With the release of Diablo 3, the excitement surrounding SWTOR and Guild Wars 2, why would I waste my time on another MMO that will be buggy and feature a lackluster quest structure. Not taking anything away from Skyrim or Oblivionbecause I've burned away almost 200 hours on each, but Elder Scrolls will not work as an MMO.
