MMO require too much time and energy invested in. if it was 4 or 5 years ago, I might try it but right now really MMO is a pain in the a** for me.
Wait what? MMO's 4-5 years required more time then MMO's today. Just look at The Old Republic it takes the average player maybe a month or two of casual play to reach the max level compared to WoW on launch which took a lot of people close to a year and more time to just get ready for raiding. MMO's are much more casual then ever unfortunately.

You've said this before and IMHO its wrong. I play casually and have been since early access with a blip of a couple of weeks while I waited for my disc to arrive and I'm nowhere near max level on any of the 3 characters I have.

You have 0 max level chars, your opinion is invalid, sorry but it's true.

I find it funny how the OP thinks this even hurts Blizzard or Arena Net.
Who was the last guy to step to Bethesda? Oh right, Peter Molyneux.
And we all know what happened to him.
Didn't Skyrim get its ass kicked by Dark Souls last year? Yes it did and Dragon's Dogma is finishing the job by showing Skyrim how dragons and dungeons should be like:
Drake:
Dungeon:
Bethesda had its chance with an open world RPG and it failed every time. It literally had years as the only open world RPG game on the market but Dragon's Dogma shows that a new IP can literally beat an entire series. Dragon's Dogma has the exploration of Assassin's Creed (but with more freedom as you can climb up mountains and literally grab harpies to pilot) and the combat of Devil May Cry combined with Dark Souls to give it a realistic type feel. Combine that with great cut scenes and characters with huge backgrounds and Dragon's Dogma has pretty much destroyed TES.
Fable sucked and it was never a rival to TES as it was a totally different game. Most TES fans I've seen often praise Fable which is no surprise considering the fact that Fable is a rather dumbed down action-RPG so it's not shocking that most TES fans love it considering TES is also rather dumbed down like Dragon Age 2 with the quest markers and easy combat. Infinite broken quests and poorly executed dragons don't change a thing.
Oblivion was buggy, Skyrim was broken. I don't even need to say what this MMO will be like and without the help of modders, I can imagine this MMO flopping.

And what level are those characters? I have never played an MMO that had such a short grind from one to max level. The way everything is voice acted it really prevents TOR from having an abundance of quests. I have 10 days worth of play time on my main that is at 50 which took several weeks. I took close to a year to reach max in WoW, two years probably more in Everquest, LotrO several months and my point was for an MMO TOR doesn't have a lot of timesinks. Which is true compared to anything else currently on the market.

how does it destroy the franchise? all the past games are still there, you're not being forced to play the game and Bethesda will always cater to people that just want single player open world games

Oh, and are you trying to be sarcastic with the Dragon Dogma you tube videos you just posted? The graphics aren't even close to Skyrim's level.... well, unless you're playing Skyrim on a PS3 or some other half decade old piece of equipment.

Yes. Drugs are bad Yrkoon. Graphics matter? Are *you* trying to be sarcastic? Enjoying Mass Effect 3 are we? Thought so. I bet you hate Baldur's Gate and won't ever play it because the graphics aren't as good as Skyrim's graphics which aren't all that great anyway. TES games could have the best graphics in the world for all I care, they still suck.
And I kinda think that DD does have the better graphics than Skyrim:
Click.
If women who look like men (Skyrim's case) is your thing...well, whatever floats your boat I guess but I'll go for the game which has realistic looking people with realistic facial expressions. Look at Skyrim's derpy looking dog! The DD screen shot isn't even in HD, I just took a Print Screen of it and it still looks better than Skyrim's clear picture.

What, you mean like this? No and I hardly think getting married within knowing a person for 10 minutes is realistic. I do know that Dragon's Dogma has romances though but they haven't been shown yet.

He must be referring to how Dark Souls has sold a whole 1.5 million copies in five months, where Skyrim sold 3.5 million copies in two days.
Yeah, Dark Souls really showed Skyrim - Bethesda must be pissing their pants in fear right now.

Yeah, Dark Souls really showed Skyrim - Bethesda must be pissing their pants in fear right now.
Didn't Mass Effect 3 ship 3.5 million copies too?
Your logic: BEST. GAME. EVER.
No. Just no. If we go by your logic, Mass Effect 3 is not only the best game of the year so far but it's also the best Mass Effect game yet. Go quote your logic on the ME3 board and see what happens to you. The haters on there will literally destroy your thread and I would love to see this happen as you watch helplessly as your thread is overrun.
From Software didn't even advertise Dark Souls that much and yet it still sold very well. Skyrim was being advertised HEAVILY ever since it was first announced. Sells do not make a game good. If that is so, then COD is the best gaming series in the history of the world.
Don't even bother replying because according to your logic; Mass Effect 3 is the best RPG ever. Peroid.
My argument is actually referring to how Dark Souls has better user scores than Skyrim on almost nearly every gaming and shopping site. The only version of Skyrim that seems to be doing well is the 360 version and there's still tons of negative reviews for that version whereas negative reviews for Dark Souls are few and most negative reviews are complaining about the difficulty which is what the game is about. Therefore such reviews are invalid. It's like me rating a football game 1/5 because I hate football. Consider that Dark Souls has the smaller fanbase as well and Bethesda should be ashamed.

Really? Most console players seem to have only ever played Fable and TES. Google "RPG's for Xbox 360" and most people keep quoting Skyrim and Fable 3 together which shows they play both. Not many mention Dragon Age: Origins, Dark Souls or any of the other RPG's on Xbox 360.
My original post was responding to someone claiming that Bethesda was almighty in RPG development. This is simply untrue and I'm hardly going to sit by and let such a comment pass when greater RPG's have been developed. I've said it before and I'll say it again:
TES only has the open world going for it. That's all people boast about. I never hear anything about characters from TES or stories from TES because they are absolutely horrible.
The most famous line of dialogue from Skyrim is "I took an arrow up the ass" which is repeated by ALL guards which just shows how depthless they are.
