I would far, *far* rather see an NWNesque online multiplayer model, perhaps small groups of adventurers in co-op and so on, than MMOs as we know them.

Modern MMOs are great if you can close your eyes to the way they're 99% meh, plastered over with a reward/addiction system about as sophisticated as a fruit machine - to the point where you can actually feel compelled to play, and bored at the same time.

Only MMO I've ever played is Runescape - it's one of the most boring freakin' games I've ever played in my life. It takes the concept of "grinding" to a whole new level (no pun intended) - unless, of course, you're one to enjoy performing the same monotonous task over and over in an endless loop trying to get dat 99.

Who was the last guy to step to Bethesda? Oh right, Peter Molyneux.

And we all know what happened to him.

I still don't really know what this means. I'm pretty sure Pete's reputation as a game designer is somewhat tarnished purely as a result of his repeated insistence on promising the earth and sky for every game he ever designs. I've never heard of any kind of Pete/Bethesda incident.

Also, the Elder Scrolls games are entirely different types of game to WoW (No idea what ArenaNet is) and the MMO is severely unlikely to impact on sales of either game.

Also that guy ranting about how Demon's Souls is supposedly objectively better that Skyrim, despite the only objective measures we even have available to us being heavily weighted in Skyrim's favour, is a very silly fellow. Also mentioning the names of popular games he doesn't like in the apparent hopes that someone will mistake it for evidence that there is an inverse relationship between sales and quality.

All that I know is that M'aiq says "People love a good fable. M'aiq has yet to find one, though...Perhaps one day."

Apparently this was added to Oblivion after Fable was announced as being a "Morrowind-killer"

ArenaNet are developing Guild Wars 2. If Elder Scrolls doesn't try anything new or at least isn't a sandbox MMO I only see it failing or going F2P.

Working on an MMO is a very bold move for a studio known for releasing buggy and unstable single player RPG's.

That's pretty funny because really, Fable's biggest failing was that for all it promised it ended up being too much like Morrowind.

I actually enjoyed the first Fable - it had a certain charm to it, and not many other games I've played made being bad feel so good. Pretty much went through the game killing all of the major characters, slaughtering traveling traders, wiping out villages (including Oakvale - oh the irony), scaring the ****** out of civilians, sacrificing people to Skorm, and just being an evil douchebag in general.

Good times. Still like Morrowind better overall, though.

[sarcasm]
Yep, you can just see it

"Say Hi to quest keeper 1"
Quest Keeper 1: "What do you want"
END CONVERSATION

A few days later a CS Rep announches " We are looking into a scripting problem that is affecting some players".
A few weeks later the the graphics tearing issue no-one has reported gets a fix, Quest Keeper 1 now says "tnaw uoy od tahw?"

etc...
[/sarcasm]

It not like this is unpresidented in Bethesdas history!
