I have the Steam version of Mass Effect 2, from before Origin even existed, I just re-installed it tonight in order to play through some of the DLC and get a fresh save for another campaign on ME3. However each time I start the game, it tells me it can't connect to the ME2 server, and can't verify my DLC (Shadow Broker, Arrival, Genesis, and a couple others).

You should just be able to re-log into the cerberus network after it gives that error.

Same here - using the same password I use to log into my Bioware account and SWTOR, but it tells me that it is the wrong password associated with the email.
I have changed it twice now and I get the same message when I start the game up and it will not let me log into the Cerberus network to verify content!
I have paid for this! This is soo frustrating!

Understandable, you have paid for a product it seems you cannot use. But please understand none of us here are from EA or BioWare, and are simply trying to help.
Recently, I have come to know that an asterisk in your password will not register in ME2. If you have one in your password, change it to one without it. I am unsure if it does it for any other special characters.
Also make sure your security program(s) and firewall is allowing ME2.

Only alphanumeric characters are considered "legal", although the registration software has no working filter to eliminate the creation of such bad passwords.
