So I can't buy packs from the store anymore with bioware points or credits.

When I lost 160 bioware points, I contacted EA support. The guy ended the conversation without even helping. I kept waiting for him to find my transaction into or answer one of my questions, but then he just quit.

Check out the transcript below:

Rajan: Thanks for contacting EA Help! My name is Rajan how may I help you?

you: Hello. I just bought some bioware points. I was using them to buy spectre packs in Mass Effect 3 multiplayer. However, my last transaction failed. 160 bioware points were subtracted, but I did not recieve the pack.

you: I exited and clicked on store again only to get the error message saying a transaction failed and I should contact support. I exited the game and clicked store and the error message went away, but checking my inventory showed I did not recieve anything.

Rajan: Russ please provide me your order number.

you 610125527

you: that's the number for the bioware points

Rajan: I apologize as it's not showing any transaction in our database.

you: It just occurred recently. Timestamp of transaction taken from the confirmation email: 16 Mar 2012 22:35 GMT

you: Is there anyway to just refund me 160 points?

you: That should take care of the problem.

you: Find anything?

Rajan:I apologize as your account setting can only be changed from your end.

Rajan: I apologize for my last message.

Rajan: Your order details are not showing in our database.

Rajan: Where did you purchase the game from?

you: There's the content of the email. I was able to purchase 9 160 pack. When I went to purchase the 10th pack it failed.

you: the bioware social network.

you: I purchased bioware points.

you: when I used the points in game, one of the transactions failed.

you: It subtracted 160 points but did not give me anything.

you: I'd like 160 bioware points refunded to my account, please.

Rajan: Please contact on socialbioware.com for this.

you: and where is the support section there?

Rajan: I am giving you a link for this.

Did you notice losing your points after restarting the game or immediately after the transaction?

Immediately after the transaction. It subtracted the points, said "please wait" and then showed the error message that said it could not process the transaction and I should contact support.

Now whenever I try to buy any pack, it just pops up with the "contact support" message after saying please wait for a little while.

Hm, slightly different than the refund bug that I found then, but could be related. At the very least Bioware will be able to see there's a bug in the system and can't rely on the logs...

Yes, because obviously people would endure 10 minutes of obnoxious technical support inquiries to coax 160 free bioware points out of them.

Sometimes I wonder why technical support people aren't allowed just to make a judgement call.

Because they have a big checklist they have to follow or else be fired.

And considering how cheap outsourcing technical support is, these guys probably aren't paid enough to have all the games they're being asked about, so chances are they have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

The good news is it seems to be working now.
