I just got it to work! the only problem I had was setting the key, the tilda thing didn't work so I tried countless combinations until i settled with F1, that worked for me! Thanks!

Thanks for figuring this out. I have the same issue but can't get the console opened. I guess I am not that technical (system 7). The software industry never ceases to amaze me. The only industry where they can sell a broken product.

Man, I've had to reset Shale three times on my current character. I really do believe that the more mods you have loaded increases the chances of it happening.

I had no problems with shale until I downloaded the charator editor and uploaded a charator for the ring they offer. After this all charaters i make do not appear on my profile and I get the black screen shale bug but only after visiting ozammar, befoer that I had no issue with shale.

nephila205, likely your issues aren't related to anything you did with the character creator. See my writeup of the missing DLC issue here, its the first section.

 WARNING:

Hi all, I tried this out as I had the described problem, and it seemed to work. However once I had completed the steps I ended up with TWO DIFFERENT REDCLIFFES.

I am at a point in the main story line where some things in Redcliffe are different, and I ended up with  both that version of Redcliffe and an older version of Redcliffe. Annoying. I reverted to a save game. More info in spoiler tags.

EDIT: spoiler tags don't work. Suffice to say that one version of Redcliffe was from an advanced part of the main story.

I'm not sure why, but after trying several different key-bindings for the console, I cannot get it to work. Would anyone know why this might be? I've tried even running the shortcut as administrator, but to no avail.

Well, back when I wrote the post above, I kind of gave up trying to fix this after having spent probably dozens of hours trying to get it to work.

Well, today I finally got the console to open up (and got the mod that lets you actually see the console working too)...

...but there is one little problem...

...when I enter the command "runscript zz_shl_debug" (without the quotes) I get the message "Failure: No such script"

No such script???  Then how is everyone else getting it to work?

Also.... now when I try to talk to shale, I don't get teleported anymore... because it wont let me talk to him AT ALL!

Someone PLEASE help!

A year old and still useful, thanks OP for this. I quit playing shale some time ago, then quit playing the game after couple playthroughs. Anyway, just bought all the DLC and expansions so playing again, and wanted Shale as an option. This is exactly what I needed.
