Finally he speaks.

Props to him.

Also I care more about the bugs keeping me from doing every side mission than I do the ending.

Hell, I might as well request some DLC stuff and maybe others will see it and agree.

We need more hub worlds...

Illium DLC. What happened to Illium?

Omega DLC. Omega mentioned in game and I thought we'd actually get a mission on Omega but we didn't.

Personal missions for squad mates. Similar to loyalty missions in ME2, but maybe if you complete these missions, your squad mates will reward you for helping. Those missions made ME2 longer. ME3 was kinda lacking in the length department.

time to put this refresh button to use.

although i still consider this vague. he says this was how the ending was meant to be, but at the same time says player wants led to certain things happening in the games.

That was an amazingly large amount of words that deflected the issue entirely and touched on basically nothing.

He could have simply said "We're listening" and be done with it.

Sigh.

So basically, "the critics had no problem with it, deal with the endings, ignore the fact that "deeper RPG elements" apparently means large swaths of auto dialogue, and buy our upcoming multiplayer DLC."

Well, it was a great trilogy right up to a few feet before the finish line.

Thank you for listening. Please make it right. It can only elevate you in the eyes of your fans and more importantly, secure the place of ME3 as the best, most emotional video game ever. To leave things the way they are can only hurt all of us.

He manages to say a whole lot of nothing or address any of the criticism leveled at the game. All he does is play up how great the game is by name dropping PA and the New York Times.

No doubt this is going to garner a huge reaction. As somebody who hated to see it all end like this, I still feel the need for a more direct response concerning the final scenes. That being said, I'll take this optimistically and hope that this means that the potential for a dlc that answers many of the questions presented by the ending is at least on the table.

New York times is one opinion, Penny Arcade one opinion, 20,000+ fans are multiple opinions.
Fans pay for the game new york times gets it for free.

I wonder why the fans and the media differ greatly in experiences with the game.

Perhaps the reason is -

I'm confused...what exactly did this clarify about the endings of ME3? That the ending is what it is or that there's more on the way for the ending? He mentions that this is not the last we hear from Commander Shepard but that could just mean pre-end DLC (which we don't care about if the ending stays the same BTW)!

This is too vague to shed any light. I think this will just make ME fans even angrier.

That is a really terrible non-answer... far from the "discussions" that Chris promised.

"This is not the last you'll hear from Commander Shepherd."

Honestly really vague but this gives me hope that its not the end. Bioware if this ships sinks I'll be in the band that goes down with it.

It essentially amounts to saying "it is what it is" without actually saying it in a quotable manner and so alienating anyone.

Typical PR spin then.

And what else was in there that we didn't already know?

That DLCs were coming? They advertised that to us after the credits.

That they've been working really hard on the game for a really long time? Well duh.

That some review sites liked the endings and a lot of fans dont? OK, but thats been obvious since last week.

What of any of that was actually meaningful?

I love how he only quoted the comments by PA that were backing him. They also made some different comments about things we are all complaining about.

More PR crap and no real statement on how they intend to address the mass of fans/consumers who think the end destroyed the entire saga.

You know, a simple answer would likely aleviate all this crap.

1. Go F yourself, we like our ending.
or
2. We understand that our loyal fans are seriously upset and are working to resolve this. Be patient.

he didn't answer anything, just raved how good his team was (which is kind of true) but more importantly he needs to admit he screwed the ending up big time i dont just want closure on the one ending they give us just with 3 diffrent colours, I want the CHOICE that i had in ME1 and ME2. I swear to god i will not touch another bioware product unless Casey gets his head out of his ass and directly addresses the ending problem.

"This is not the last you will hear of commander shepard".

Does that mean more ending DLC? Because really this was meant to be the end of his story. The game. The game should have significantly ended it.

DLC sure, they were always going to release it, but it should be battle for Omega or something, taking place during the gameplay. Not additional ending that you are required to pay for. Thats disgusting if that was the plan all along.

Essentially, Casey could've typed how he really enjoys eating pizza with pepperoni. Our delusional brethren who were driven completely insane over a *videogame* ending simply won't listen to what anyone says.

I thought the ending was fine, BUT I have a social life that doesn't involve daydreaming about a fictional world and its characters (I think players having an unhealthy attachment to the world of Mass Effect is the largest problem).

-HAHHAH... precisely. Nothing new under the sun here. I could write another blog about it but nah... the one in my sig fits this "new revelation" just as much as the old one.
