Casey Hudson, you're a miserable pip-squeak of a man.
I dunno why but that made me laugh. And really, it's far too early for laughter. So thank you!
As for the response from Mr. Hudson... I'm glad you're listening. But you've always done that. BioWare has been a company that has prided itself on user feedback. All those little fan service moments in ME3 are testament to that. I would be shocked, honestly, if you said it wasn't open for discussion.
What I find disagreeable about this statement is that professional reviews are being tossed at us as if they mean more than the actual fan response does. And I have to tell you, professional reviews in the gaming industry mean pretty much nothing. I have, over the years, seen reviews go from honest to on the whole positive with no mention of negatives. I stopped reading them. So to have those thrown in my face like I can't possibly truly know how good Mass Effect 3 is because if the pros liked it, then obviously it's good. You do know they get paid to write good reviews, right?
Also. What, on the BSN and elsewhere (except professional reviewers that is), is an overwhelming majority is relegated to 'some passionate players'. It's very condescending on the whole to be put off that way. I realize this was a PR piece. You can't say that you know you screwed up and you can't say that the game may have been rushed or need further work. 99% of Mass Effect 3 is so perfect and fitting that that last bit comes out of nowhere and slaps you in the face. You can't say any of that, but please, don't insult your fans with backhanded comments. Those 'some passionate players' are those that have been absolutely loyal to you and BioWare and Mass Effect 3 since its announcement. I know I have been.
I honestly feel badly for BioWare. You guys are in a crappy position, but if you're reading the feedback you know it's not Mass Effect 3 as a whole that is upsetting people. It's just the end. I'm not saying to fix it or how to fix it, but you could, at the very least when the storm dies down, acknowledge the hurt these endings put on this franchise for a lot of your fans because brushing them off is risking losing them.

Still, we wanted to give players the chance to experience an inspiring
and uplifting ending; in a story where you face a hopeless struggle for
basic survival, we see the final moments and imagery as offering victory
and hope in the context of sacrifice and reflection.
Why do you continue to lie to our faces, Mr. Hudson?
There was no hope. There was no victory. There was only death and cowardice. Those were the themes you ended Mass Effect 3 on.
We've waited a week for a response that tells us nothing.

A lack/limit/ no of 'freedom' in choices that were prevalent throughout the franchise in situations that really required them. Whether this was solely intentional I have no idea.
I did accept that there would have been a 'Finalised' ending for Shep regardless, but this felt a little...empty & unfinished TBH. The final scenes were too empty of the emotion that the series had carried through out.
Every other ME title made me want to go back and replay them, but ME 3, leaves me a little less motivated to do so. Whether thats due to the feeling of 'Oh is that it?' or knowing that the series has ended I cant really put my finger on it.
Still, the work over the years was appreciated.

Well that was exactly what I needed to hear, my reasons for not liking the ending of Mass Effect 3 so much was because with that ending I was not ready to say goodbye to my Commander Shepard or my crew. I seen them alive and I thought I was going to be interacting with them one last time but there was nothing and that really bothered me. But now knowing that this is not the last of our Commander Shepards im happy to accept what Mass Effect 3 was, which includes the most amazing game i've ever played! And hold out for DLC or whatever else Bioware has planned for our Commander Shepards.
Thank you Casey Hudson for that message, I can now breathe lol
Really? That was your concern? That was their plan all along. To milk you and your wallet.

No, those of us who still feel cheated don't. I could barely accept the bitterly depressing ending (bittersweet my a***), but when what we got did not resemble what we were promised or 'sold'.... GAME OVER. No more EA/Bioware for me.
Amazon, however, continue to impress: http://social.biowar.../index/10085608 .

Where are all the reviews that outright tell you the ending is terrible and detracts from the game? How about the multiple Forbes articles that flat out say you're wrong? No you won't link those, will you?

Man, just announce new endings for free and you solve the problem! Is it so hard? "Oh, well... I´m a genious and my fans are not ready to understand my greatness! Deal with it, mortals! And buy my dlc."

This is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Call us when someone at Bioware can give us a direct statement about what they plan to do about the fan satisfaction. Will you be doing something about the ending or not? You claim we've begun a dialogue (according to the head of Public Relations, anyway), but you haven't told us what the aim of that dialogue is. It still looks like the intention is to use this as a means to weather the storm and get us to all go home, so you don't have to do anything in the end.

"The critics that EA paid off says our game is great. This is exactly how I feel about the game. We are surprised that our most loyal fans noticed that as we approached the final 10 minutes of the game we fired all our writers, and that the original lead and mind behind Mass Effect has left us to fill in the blanks with the worst possible fan fiction that we could find in under an hour. But don't worry you can pay us for more DLC in the future."
Spiffy.

This is still not acceptable. As your customer, I'm only really asking for two things at this point, and I don't feel it is at all unreasonable to expect them.
Firstly, I'd like a formal apology for not delivering on promises you and your team made regarding the game you were making, that I paid for.
Secondly, I would like you to correct the product you made, so that it reflects the promises you made. Specifically, finish the damn ending. And then give it to your fanbase free of charge as a show of good faith.
Doing just about anything else, especially continuing to beat around the bush, and you will have lost yet another formerly loyal fan.
Am I an entitled brat to ask for this? Possibly. I sure as hell know I'm entitled to recieve products I pay for as they are advertised. I also know that using PR to evade legitimate issues is poor, poor form. I'm a straightforward guy. Beating around the bush when I'm already annoyed just pisses me off further, mate. It's really not hard to talk to your fanbase directly, address their concerns in a polite manner that actually answers their questions. What you've done with this announcement is essentially, as many before me have said, told us "We at Bioware care more for the press we gave our product to for review than the customers who pay us to use our product, and we want those customers to buy more of our product." This is unethical, irresponsible, and ultimately unacceptable. Fix. It.
Thank you,

And if Arrival proved anything, it's that a Mass Relay explosion kills everyone around it which would not have only killed every person fighting the Reapers above Earth, but also the Normandy.
The ending is just full of plot holes and poorly written to be honest.
So out of place for a Mass Effect game and really, giving up like this is the complete OPPOSITE Shepard would have done.

If Mr hudson still insists this is a perfect ending he needs than I bet you never say you're listening. We're fooled once and we don't buy it knowing that you're always fooling us.

I still love Bioware and your games and think you guys are the best for incorporating the things that fans clamour for in your games. It's nice to hear that this is not the last time we've heard of commander shepard.... but what does this mean to the story continuum? Will there be DLC or expansion packs that picks off after the game chronology? Will we ever see additional multiple endings (ones that vary alot from each other and the original)?
I will still look forward to new DLC single player content that challenges the ending...
