I created my own outline for an ending I'd personally prefer to Mass Effect 3. I posted it here: http://social.biowar...5656/1#10706878 It eliminates the starbrat, the synthetics vs organics stuff, gives the reapers a bigger purpose and history, and sets up for future possible ME series. I'd appreciate comment.

Since Bioware wants to downplay the bad ending catastrophe to their game, I wanted to throw my 2 cents in. It just looks to me like Bioware/EA are trying to milk this poor cow until it's dead.

1. Day 1 DLC that NEW product customers have to pay extra just to get a "full experience"
2. Marketing "multiple endings" which should have been worded "Multiple color coded endings"
3. Forcing people to play a half(word for butt) multiplayer just to get the "best colored ending"
(Forcing people to buy on the release date so you actually have people online to play with as interest in playing multiplayer dive bombed into the floor I bet once word got out about the endings)
4. The Day 1 DLC leak and subsequent firestorm.

All this has just been bad for bioware and EA. Rest assured Bioware won't be getting any more money anytime soon if I can help it. This is just an affront to the gaming industry...these milking practices of trying to get every single dollar out of consumers as possible. There are different methods for doing this and this is by far the most morally deprived way.

Then the ending...Oh God the ending. "Whats your favorite color?" Blue? Here you go...One blue ending for you. The "best" ending only has a few totally different frames in it, color coded different, and thats it. The main bulk of the endings "Control Good/Bad and Destroy Good/bad" are identical save for the building either disintigrating or a group of nameless soldiers have the hands raised in triumph or lowered in relief...that's it...and Bioware has the nerve to call that multiple endings? Really?

Below I put a link to another article I found while surfing away that put this into far better words than I ever could...

As far as the production of the game, it just feels like you guys ran out of steam at the very end...ran out of funding...ran out of "caring at this point" and just released the games unto the unsuspecting market. Sure....after we gobbled up that $59.99 or $79.99 and bought a really...crappy..."collector's edition (like I did), You guys really just crammed a collector's edition worth of stuff into a double sized DVD case and included a soft paperback art book and some other random junk...?

You guys could care less at this point. You got your inital sales, live off that Day 1 DLC for a bit, then proceed to make the next "epic" saga. Pathetic. When I heard about TotalBiscuit's plan to boycott the game, I agreed on his notions that you guys are committing bad business practices, but I still liked the series, and I was planning on buying the "whole" game anyways, so I didn't boycott it. God I wish I could get my money back right now.

The only reason you are adding more content is to appease the gamers you betrayed. I'm one of them, and this ending for Mass Effect 3 better be free, I'm tired of buying games in the box and when you install it it's only in beta.

(cough BF3, cough SWTOR)

Below is the article I was referring to...Man Bioware, I am angered, appalled and just downright disgusted with you as a whole.

I'm done, peace out guys.

I don't mind DLC as long as its done Half Life episode style. It saves BW money in distributing and gives us DLC that's not fundamentally flawed. As for the ending, it was alright, not really believable but it's sci-fi, if I wanted realism I'd stick to real life. What does bug me though is how similar all the endings are given that the game came with 2 discs and 1 of them I've used for 2 missions (yes I kept count). Seems to me that disc 2 could have induced the 3 endings with major differences, not just coloring some effects differently.

I hate plot holes. The ending(s?) are terrible, as explained in many places and posts but, there is another in this game that bothered me as much. Your choice of counselor from ME1 not directly addressed in the story was a big issue that bugged me the whole game. There are some other things throughout the game (story-wise) that were irks, but those are forgivable.

The multiplayer idea is interesting is you're into that sort of thing(I am not) but making it basically mandatory is sad. Someone mentioned something about future ME games having focus on multiplayer. I hope not.

Other than those issues and the game being a little short, I can say I enjoyed the combat system in this game. Much more fluid. Got grenades again(yay!). But I have to say the powers need some work. Because of the unrestricted weapons for all classes, the slow cooldown of powers, and the relatively low strength of powers, I felt it was much easier to just gun down enemies and only occasionally use team member powers. And, why does adrenaline rush suck now. It was my most used soldier power in ME2. I only used it twice in ME3 then reassigned my skills to not use it at all.

I'd buy a DLC if it fixed most(well even some) of these issues. I'd also like a patch to fix some bugs.

Adrenaline rush can be used to
1) boost damage
2) boost health and shields
3) recharge shields

Not sure how you couldn't find that useful, it keeps me alive on Insane.

This article sums everything that's wrong with ME3 quite nicely. Glad I found it. Just be sure to spread it around people. All the points made in it is logical and completely valid.

Huh! This was actually  news to me. Maybe because of me not being a native english speaker. Where i come from we have distinctive terms for all those different forms of discrimination (not that it stops us from practicing them:sick:)

Well, I had to look it up, too. :-)
My initial point was simply that removing cultural differences is one of the things which is achieved via racism.

I wonder why the fans and the media differ greatly in experiences with the game.

Perhaps the reason is -

EA and BioWare gives them the game and possibly free meals and money. If you want a critic to write something about your product you will nearly do anything for them.
And also how many of the critics actualy played it all the way to the end?

Oddly enough, this isn't possible without either MP or external apps. Also, you need 5000+ to see the "Shepard lives" clip.

You can get the Sythesis option (the supposedly "good" ending - which is actually counter to the entire priciple of the game..))

But to get the Shepard breath scene, which would be considered th perfect end with destroy option, you MUST play MP.

1. Day 1 DLC that NEW product customers have to pay extra just to get a "full experience"

Sorry. I'll give them this one.

They cut content from the game for time considerations - admittedly that means they wanted it in the full game. When they removed it, they didn't want to abandon it and made it DLC. Kinda slimy, if that's all you know.

That's not what they did though. They completed the content that otherwise would have been removed and added it to the Collector's Edition.

What you're really saying is that Bioware shouldn't have offered Collector's Edition content to those who didn't buy the Collector's edition. Would that have made you happy? Or, would you then be complaining that there was great content out there that you couldn't get because the Collector's Edition sold out.

As someone who bought the Collector's Edition, I'm the one that should be pissed. I paid $20 for something that you got for $10. (Although I do like the Hoodie).

Would you have been happier if they didn't release the content as DLC until May? That would have been the best solution. Then those that bought the Collector's Edition would have had a benefit and those who didn't could get their content.

From the opposite perspective, you should thank Bioware for giving you the opportunity to access content that they could have just as easily denied.
