Seriously what we really want is a true epilogue, I dont mind that the Mass Relays r gone, thats fine with me. What I really want to know though is what happens to the universe after the destruction of the mass relays? what happens to all our friends and companions throughout the saga, garrus, liara, tali, ashley/kaidan and so on? what glimpse of a future will the mass effect universe have after the destruction of the element that made a galactic community possible (a.k.a the mass relays)? these r questions that where left unanswered.

Guys, come on.

You wanted a response, it wasn't EXACTLY what you wanted, but you got it.

We don't get a response, we rage out and condemn the entire company.

We get a response, we rage out, and condemn the entire comapny.

It's no wonder they are so unwilling to say anything definite here. Chill out, it's progress, keep being respectful and putting on the pressure.

Nothing in this response is new. It literally contains information that has been said elsewhere.

THAT'S why people are pissed. It has nothing to do with standards, beyond a "Actually tell us something new!" one. Which I don't think is too much to ask for.

Nothing is new? Bull****. This is the first time we've been directly acknowledged. He clearly understands there is a group of people unhappy with the ending, and addressed said group directly. That IS new, and it's progress. It doesn't mean we've won, but it means we are getting somewhere.

No promises, sure. I would love more detailed info, but flying off the handle isn't going to get it. Be reasonable.

My god. Agreed with pretty much everything said before. Maybe, 3% of the fans like the ending, and that's a BIG MAYBE. Fix it or I'm done. And please, slanting "Our most passionate fans want more closure" etc. to a hostile customer audience is not helping.

Read this about typical PR:

This guy predicted this will happen.

Happy to have some response but the statement that the fans play an important part in shaping the franchise irks me.

You can't say that while more or less ignoring the fact you railroaded the fans into the final ending.

He comes to this forum with a "congrats" from New York times ? What's that supposed to mean ?
"Inspiring and uplifting" ?? Is he trolling ? That was the most depressing stuff I've played in a long time. DA:O had a crappy ending, but it was one of several possibles, there was really a choice. Here ? Just the same pile of garbage with different colors.

Anyway, if "new" content means some mission to get more war assets, to get an easier time to get someone's death rattle  at the end, well, I'm not interested....

Enough doubletalk and "pr-speak" already, Bioware. Just fix the dang ending.

Exactly. It's not the giant leap forward, but it's the man himself adressing the fans. He's probably saving the big announcement for PAX. But still, baby steps. We're making progress!

Yeah, it's nice to hear from him, but I won't be spending any money on DLC that doesn't contribute to some sort of conclusion. Even then that's pushing it, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they're still holding crucial information back.

Well what Mr Hudson means by "This is not the last you’ll hear of Commander Shepard. " ?
It's post "pre-BOOM" related, or "post-BOOM" related? or both ?

If it's only "pre-boom" then it won't change Shep fate, closure and answers some are looking for.
I couln't buy more content unless they get clear of "post-boom" situation if it will be adressed or not even if they release it even late (even next year), it could still bring peace and not erase my replay value of this amazing game.

Just my opinion, but making the main game thicker is not what i would need to compensate the ending problem and get back to replay value.

Still, we wanted to give players the chance to experience an inspiring and uplifting ending; in a story where you face a hopeless struggle for basic survival, we see the final moments and imagery as offering victory and hope in the context of sacrifice and reflection.

Uplifting? The part where nothing you did mattered worth a damn in the end? The part where you brought the entire galaxy together only to fracture it and isolate everyone? The part where to actually destroy the Reapers--your stated goal from the first game--you must commit murder and genocide against EDI and the geth? The part where you have to pick either Saren or TIM's path in order to avoid commiting murder and genocide? The part where Synthesis is utterly repellant? The part where Joker abandons the fight and magically transports your ground crew to the Normandy? The part where the only thing you did was ensure the next cycle won't have to deal with the Reapers? I'm sure the Yahg will thank Shep for that.

Oh, or the part where a grandpa tells stories about "the Shepard" to his grandchild, seemingly on the same planet where the Normandy crashed--so uh, some real good genetic diversity down the generations from that small crew, eh?

I am amused that they chose 9pm on a Friday Night after they started a MP challenge to release this.

Interesting tactic... running scared and sneaking out the back door.

What you have read was Hudson's attempt at politely telling the community to go **** themselves and just suck it up.

The parts where he drags out the accolades from reviewers is an attempt at trying to bolster his own opinion of the ending. Notice how he lists out a couple of prestigious reviews and then devalues the thousands of complaints by trying to say that they are both "equally valid"?

We got what we got people. It was an AMAZING Rollercoaster right...too bad the operator punched us all in the face as we were coming back in to the station.

"Bittersweet" is one thing. "Confusing as hell" and "betrays all the themes of the trilogy" is another.

"to do otherwise would betray the agonizing decisions Shepard had to make along the way."

Well, they totally betrayed the agonizing decisions that the player had to make along the way by rendering them utterly meaningless on the way to railroading them into this apparent "bittersweet/inspiring/uplifting" oh so fabulous ending.

Empty PR spin that is worse than useless.

As you were, BSN.

So where do we go from here? Throughout the next year, we will support Mass Effect 3 by working on new content. And we’ll keep listening, because your insights and constructive feedback will help determine what that content should be.

the last line being the key. he's not gonna break down crying in public and yell to the heavens for forgiveness, now, is he? he has stated that community feedback will play a role in future content. our wishes are known. now is the time to present them in a civil and concise way, and see what happens, not start ranting and being cynical, basically throwing hudson's "offer" right back in his face. if bioware does not, in fact, deliver, that will speak for itself, and so will sales numbers.
