We always intended that the scale of the conflict and the underlying theme of sacrifice would lead to a bittersweet ending
When, in FIVE YEARS have they said this?

Somehow I was holding out against hope that maybe it was just all a misunderstanding, or that there was some miscommunication, but... ah well.
Steam still downloading Dragon Age: Origin again. Once that's installed, I'll play it over the next week to get this bad taste out of my mouth, and then I'm just going to be done. I have absolutely zero interest in DLC multiplayer content or Aria or whatevertheheck else but a better conclusion to Shep's story.
If in six months' time I'll find it was miraculously fixed, yeah... I might get it, but this whole thing is just getting me down.
Don't do that! Corporations during controversial periods with customers, absolutely count on shaking off resistance through time and non-commital statements that could mean anything or nothing.
If anything, it is predictable that he said little more than "he's proud of the team." He's buying time for the storm to settle as it inevitably will if you're so easy to shake off. Oh, and he most likely didn't even write it, the PR eggheads did, or at least cleared it for release. They are trying to wear you down as we speak. Resist indoctrination.
Get up and dust yourself off, and move out soldier...of course that'd take a real badass!

I'd hate to be one of the employees with the info and not be able to let the crowd know. Especially if it's good news that there will be new endings for those who wish it. There is absolutely nothing solid but I am hopeful. Didn't start off that way, but seeing how many of you out there are standing up for this, it makes me think there is a chance.
Time will tell.

You realize making an Omega DLC could be "more of Shepard"?
This in no way says they're going to fix the endings or even make a post-ending DLC.
No he downright says that the ending we got is not the actuall ending. It is a holder ending for the simple fact of content still to be developed and released later on. The story aint done yet! (Stargazer does say "Alright, one more story! )
Also I found this to be a very honest answer from Bioware. This is why people that understood the endings said it wasnt a bad ending, myself included.

This is insulting. But we also recognize that some of our most passionate fans needed more closure, more answers, and more time to say goodbye to their stories—and these comments are equally valid. Player feedback such as this has always been an essential ingredient in the development of the series.
Just cut all the bull**** and tell as straight what are you gonna do with this mess!

All I really want to see is a change to the ending in which all the respective fleets return to their homeworlds before Shepard detonates the Crucible, because not doing so invalidates all previous choices.

I just want to highlight a few things he says not like anybody will read my post but here goes anyway
He says he considers the game a collaboration between US and THEM. meaning our opinions are valid. He even goes as far as to say "your opinions are valid" Do you know what this means? This means that while he may not agree with our opinion, and i am SURE he doesn't, he recognizes it has solid reasoning behind it.
ALL OF YOU should be willing to do the same for him. At least if you actually want to be constructive and hopeful instead of bitter and mad.
He also says content is coming, THIS YEAR, and that they will be listening to fans in order to determine what to develop. which means that if the ending issue really is as big a deal as it was in the case of Fallout 3, there very well could be alternate ending DLC coming.
No he didn't promise anything, but it's still REALLY EARLY. Guys the fact that he responded at all when the game is still in the early stages of being sold is proof they take this seriously. Stop the hating! The hating is getting ridiculous. It really is.
this +1

i would like to address this quote from Casey Hudson's recent letter to the community:
"...we designed Mass Effect 3 to be a series of endings to key plots and
storylines, each culminating in scenes that show you the consequences of
your actions."
this is beyond hilarious. can anyone explain to me how the ending culminated in scenes that showed us the consequences of our actions? the only "culmination" i see is me realizing how terrible your company truely is.
i should have known after dragon age 2, so i have only myself to blame. it's funny because i was so previously indoctrinated into your company that i bought into the "indoctrination theory". i really wanted to believe.
i will no longer purchase bioware products, and wish to say this, "shame on you all".
edit: for the record, nobody in their right minds is begging for a happy ending full of cake and pies. we want an ending that isn't completely utterly terrible. one that makes sense. one that actually shows the "culmination" of our decisions taken over the past 5 years.

Which is absolutely fine that they made a mistake IMO. It happens. Bioware has given us some great games.
I don't know. For some reason it just feels like a slap in the face.
Things seem to be going in the right direction, but I'm keeping the pressure on until we get a definite solution.
Also, the part where he said "to do otherwise would betray the agonizing decisions Shepard had to make along the way" seems interesting. The big reason that people are so unhappy with the ending is that they threw all the decisions you made along the way out the window in the end.
Lets keep pushing them (Respecfully). And keep holding the line. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction.
