You know what guys, i am done. Guy is clearly not well, and have no idea what he is doing. Hope is dead as dead can be, but at this point depression is gone, i just don't care anymore.

Hudson should be a politician. So many words without actually saying anything.

The love interest of Tali and Garrus was introducded only in ME3. This guy doesn't even know what he is talking about. Give him money and he'll spout any old **** from his mouth. This love interest was introduced in ME3 - get it right. Love your game or **** off Casey.

Give this man a high five.

Seriously Hudson, know and love your creation or don't bother.

Wait, so who were those characters I romanced in most of my ME2 games?

Spae Magic... it was harbinger all along.

Well, that's disapponting. I should have guessed though, by the way he said "I KNOW YOU FEEL THIS".

Changes nothing for me. No more business to Bioware until delivery of already promised content.

I, along with a lot of other people I'm sure, were looking forward to this game probably more than any other game in their pc / console gaming lives.
I was excitied about a damn computer game, like a teenager going on his / her first bloody date and I'm over 40.
That is how much we LOVED the Mass Effect universe, and as far as I am concerned, it has moved from loves to loved, because Bioware have ripped the heart out of its most loyal customer base with the most stupid of stupid endinds.

Congratulations, you alienated more people than anyone thought possible.

And I think for a AAA game to drop to 2/3rds of its release price within 7 days of release depicts that more than anything.

You realize making an Omega DLC could be "more of Shepard"?

This in no way says they're going to fix the endings or even make a post-ending DLC.

No he downright says that the ending we got is not the actuall ending. It is a holder ending for the simple fact of content still to be developed and released later on. The story aint done yet! (Stargazer does say "Alright, one more story! )

Also I found this to be a very honest answer from Bioware. This is why people that understood the endings said it wasnt a bad ending, myself included.

Could you point that out where in the release, or anywhere else, for that matter, that Casey said specifically there was ending DLC coming?

Seriously, get the ending bull**** out of your heads. Its getting eritating.  He downright says they are still going to support ME3 with extra content. Its right there in the text. Effing read it.

Any DLC where Shepard is playable is "more Sheprad". In fact if you read the statement carefully he made it very clear the ending is what they wanted it to be.

Still, this ending ruins the replay value of the first 2 games. There is now no reason to play them ever again as your choices make no difference.

Well, I'm glad to see they're addressing us at least. I've already moved on to different games, and while I'll look on the DLCs with interest, it's likely I won't be buying any. Cheers to the team though; they've worked hard, and it's good to see that they're paying attention to the complaints, even if it's just in PR speak.

Yikes at how fast this thread is moving.

Just gonna repost this bit of an earlier post on page 8. When I posted it literally within seconds we was at page 15.

EDIT;
With Dragon Age 2 the whole PR thing worked like this...

Denial. "The Game is fantastic! Everyone loves it!"
Obfuscation. "Oh some really passionate fans have gotten a little overzealous. We are aware, but the game is great!"
Avoidance. "The game is great. Really it is. Honestly its brilliant. Here buy some item pack DLCs please."
Dismissal. "The game is brilliant. The haters are just self-entitled fanboys with no idea what they want."
Anger. "This is our best game ever! Theres nothing wrong with it! Stop being self-entitled fanboys!"
Grudging Admission. "Fine there are some minor problems with the game. We are listening!"
Admission. "Okay we made mistakes. We understand where we went wrong, and will do better in DA3. Sorry everyone."

So far Bioware have been thru the Denial and Obfuscation stages of it. And this "announcement" right here is the Avoidance stage
So we still have Dismissal then Anger to get before we get even a tiny admission that maybe the endings might not have worked out.

Depressing in that its quite a bit off; with Dragon Age 2 it took nearly 2 months before we got to that point.

Fortunately however Bioware seemed to be advancing along the PR path a lot quicker than with Dragon Age 2 so we can expect a Dismissive or Angry statement from The Doctors probably sometime next week. And fingers crossed some sort of Admission by the end of the month.

this is the first post i have ever made on this forum.

i would like to address this quote from Casey Hudson's recent letter to the community:

"...we designed Mass Effect 3 to be a series of endings to key plots and
storylines, each culminating in scenes that show you the consequences of
your actions."

this is beyond hilarious. can anyone explain to me how the ending culminated in scenes that showed us the consequences of our actions? the only "culmination" i see is me realizing how terrible your company truely is.

i should have known after dragon age 2, so i have only myself to blame. it's funny because i was so previously indoctrinated into your company that i bought into the "indoctrination theory". i really wanted to believe.

i will no longer purchase bioware products, and wish to say this, "shame on you all".

That depends? Did you pay attention during your playthroughs? If so you would have known that many plotholes from ME1 and 2 were closed during your gameplay. Choices you made in ME3 were instantly reflected upon.  You do realize you do not need everything to be in the ending to close plotholes right?

I mean if the ending was something like "oh they survived, live happily ever after and got babies and ****" well...I dont need to see that.

are you kidding? the plotholes that were filled were little side ditties that didn't matter. the main bulk of my complaint regards the ending, an ending that didn't regard anything that occured in the game. i don't know how else to explain this to you.

furthermore, i edited my post. this forum moves fast. i, for the record, do not wish for a forced happy ending. i want a real ending in the traditional manner. you should read more western literature and you might understand what i mean.

Huh?

I second that "Huh?" up there. Tali and Garrus were original crew members in ME1 and became available as LIs in ME2 directly as a result of being popular with ME1 fans who really, really wanted them as romance options. Tven0 seems a bit...oh...you know...wrong. I'm pretty sure that I didn't imagine this, especially since my Garrus-loving friend was overjoyed by Garrus being an actual LI in ME2....

Used to work in PR.

Can't believe he cited love for his game by Penny Arcade and the loving NYT before addressing his fanbase and customers. Then, when he does, he uses marginalizing language; "some of our most dedicated..."

Whew. The air up there must be a bit thin.

What a load of bs Casey Hudson. "Bittersweet end" why can't you just admit it? You messed up on the ending by trying to get all artsy fartsy with it and as a result you created so many problems that never would have happened otherwise.

It's really quite simple.

Release an epilogue/ending DLC and I'll buy it and every piece of DLC you release.

Release ANY DLC before some kind of ending/epilogue DLC and I won't buy a thing.

We've had some incredibly positive reactions to Mass Effect 3, from the New York Times declaring it “a gripping, coherent triumph”, to Penny Arcade
calling it “an amazing accomplishment”, to emails and tweets from
players who have given us the most profound words of appreciation we've
ever received.

But we also recognize that some of our most
passionate fans needed more closure...

Without opening the Pandora's Box of game companies and the overly comfortable relationships with gaming "journalists", resulting in certain members of that so called press acting as meat puppets for the developers they have gotten so cozy with, I will use the same appeal to authority approach that Mr. Hudson uses to try to bring some illumination to this discussion.

I believe Bioware has a selection bias problem with the reviews they are reading.  While I turn to the New York Times when I want to catch up on world politics I turn to dedicated gamers running websites for my gaming reviews.  Go to the experts.  Go for those clearly without bias.  Once a journalist is being flown up to Edmonton to receive a dinner and night on the town with their heroes I believe they lose their objectivity.

I don't think you guys caught this guy.  I'd urge you to read his review.  He doesn't feel the need to keep his cozy relationship with you and your company since he likely purchased his own copy of the game.

http://pixelatedgeek...aws-of-victory/

The money quote the people at Bioware need to read when they get too far up on their New York Times review?

But there’s only so much dancing around the issue I’m willing to do. Nearly 99% of Mass Effect 3
is a superb game, quite possibly Game of the Year material. Even the
missteps are largely forgivable. It is precisely the evolutionary drive
western RPGs should embrace.
However, that remaining one percent, culminating in an out-of-the-blue reveal during literally the last five to ten minutes of the game, is so ill-thought-out, so inconclusive, so almost genuinely insulting
coming after a game experience that radiates love for its universe and
its narrative, that it doesn’t just damage this title but the entire
franchise. It ripples backwards in the series and hurts replayability
for the previous two games, a rare feat indeed.
A cohesive trilogy spanning years is destroyed by five ill-conceived minutes.

One final thought.  Friday night press releases smell like desperation and classic corporate damage control.  Stop viewing your fans like the White House views it's political enemies.  Every minute you delay, every stalling tactic you use, every corporate B.S. damage control approach you trot out is not going to work.  We've seen them all employed by politicans and corporate hacks the world over.  The damage control consultants you are using have made a living doing this for years and we've all seen and know what they do and how they do it.

The difference?

We can't live without politics.  We can't live without energy.  We can't live without the industries most of these flacks make their living managing PR responses in.

We can live without Bioware.

Get real.  Get honest.  Get there fast.

You messed up.  Fix it.

You know praising IGN and Penny Arcade that are lambasting the Take Back movement is also not good...... Unbelievable.
He could have picked any two reviews...why them?

Simple. Both are very well known and if asked most gamers would name either one of those two first.
