Again, I am trying my best to remain optimistic. But to be honest it's tough. I mean like I've said before, most of us already waited 2 years for the conclusion to Sheps(our) repsective journeys...I think we've waited long enough.

People, responding with flames to this olive branch is not a good idea. When your bargaining partner gives a little ground, that should be met with hesitant *positivity* to encourage further movement. He should be rewarded for giving a little ground to send the message that giving a little ground is a good idea. Because nothing was committed (only indirectly or weakly acknowledged), we should not soften or budge. I feel that we should be courteous, fair, constructive, reasonable, and strong-willed about what we are asking for: an expanded ending that makes sense.

Time to boycott bioware folks ^^
face it ME3 was just a way to rip us off as a money grab to fund the mess that is the old republic

I thought we were already boycotting them?

Some folks in the Retake movement are participating in the MP event this weekend as opposed to boycotting.  Personally I think that sends 100% the wrong message but it's their right to do what they want.  Personally I'm disappointed in them though.

Not enough.

It's a response, and that's a start. But this is nothing but a PR response. There's nothing substantive here. This doesn't address any of our concerns, nor does it address any of the questions we've raised. This is basically the exact same as saying "yes we're listening to you, but we're not ready to respond yet."

This doesn't contain any kind of response whatsoever aside from "hi, we're bioware, we know you're pissed, look, we're talking, so shut up."

If they don't fix the ending or provide any sort of closure of some kind, I'm not even going to bother with all the *new* content (multiplayer, Omega, etc) they're planning to release within the year. Why should I give them any more of my hard earned cash for another opportunity to choose between red, green and blue all over again? I'm no masochist. ME3's ending was like a frickin' Dementor, it sucked all the happiness out of me for days.

This is going to give Forbes more ammo against them and drive more people away. Their PR department seems to have no clue of how angry people are or they'd not let anyone say anything at all as they're just feeding the fire.I also agree that people who want to hold the line shouldn't be doing anything related to the MP crap this weekend.

I just want to highlight a few things he says not like anybody will read my post but here goes anyway

He says he considers the game a collaboration between US and THEM. meaning our opinions are valid. He even goes as far as to say "your opinions are valid" Do you know what this means? This means that while he may not agree with our opinion, and i am SURE he doesn't, he recognizes it has solid reasoning behind it.

ALL OF YOU should be willing to do the same for him. At least if you actually want to be constructive and hopeful instead of bitter and mad.

He also says content is coming, THIS YEAR, and that they will be listening to fans in order to determine what to develop. which means that if the ending issue really is as big a deal as it was in the case of Fallout 3, there very well could be alternate ending DLC coming.

No he didn't promise anything, but it's still REALLY EARLY. Guys the fact that he responded at all when the game is still in the early stages of being sold is proof they take this seriously. Stop the hating! The hating is getting ridiculous. It really is.

this +1

This makes sense but come on THIS YEAR? We have already waited two years for the conclusion of Shepards journey...now we have to wait even longer. That's....not nice. I think the wounds have just been reopened by this statement release to be honest.

Things take time to devlop, realisticly an ending DLC is a few months away at the earliest. . I urge patience. At least he is saying we have a genuine gripe. I thank him for his thoughts on the matter. I still say we fight for an alternative ending. But we need to be realistic with what Bioware can do.

It's a promising development, but the fight isn't over. We still need to voice our dissatisfaction.

Hold the line!

On a side note, did anybody get the sudden urge to binge eat when they read this? Managed to get a can of Lemonade, 3 sausage rolls and a bag of Hula Hoops down within 5 minutes. I think it was raining in my house, too, as there was quite a bit of water running down my face...

Odd :crying:

Well, since the thread where I wrote my opinion got closed, I'll just say it here.

He basically seems to be saying, "IGN and Penny Arcade like us, so keep quiet and buy our DLC."

"But we also recognize that *some* of our most
passionate fans needed more closure, more answers, and more time to say
goodbye to their stories—and these comments are equally valid."

He's making it sound like it's a very small group of zealots that they just by chance happened to notice...

Yes. The uplifting ending. "Then Commander Shepard said a tearful goodbye to everybody she loved before her final fight. She fought the hardest battle of her life to get to the beam, only to be blasted nearly to death. She enters the Citadel broken and bleeding, is forced to kill her own commanding officer, then gives in to the suggestions of some random spacechild VI and kills everyone in the galaxy including herself without a question. Oh, and for some reason, her crew left without her and crash-landed on a random planet for no reason. Now let's tell a story about the time she liberated Omega."

Used to work in PR.

Can't believe he cited love for his game by Penny Arcade and the loving NYT before addressing his fanbase and customers. Then, when he does, he uses marginalizing language; "some of our most dedicated..."

Whew. The air up there must be a bit thin.

Well that and the love from Penny-Arcade seems to ignore the newsposts where Tycho calls out the idea of Authorial Divinity as bat****.  For the record, he's fine with the ending but is well aware that we're not all crazy.

Basically he's saying, "Stay tuned because we have plenty of DLC to sell you even though the ending sucked and your decisions throughout the series had minimal impact!"

Even if they released DLC to change the ending and add more conclusions to plot points (Jack romance anyone?), I don't think I'd bother. They shouldn't be rewarded with more money for something that should've been in the base game. What a joke.

To: @JessicaMerizan That's pretty much just confirming DLC which we knew would happen already. It doesn't say anything about the ending

To: @batchix what did you want it to say? #curious (PS this discussion re: the endings is not OVER - it's just beginning)

That's all I got out of that. And I can't say I care to retake Omega when really the station should've been blown up with the relay and if it wasn't, well, I can't imagine the people there could hold out for too long before they run out of their food supply.
