What a hugely disappointing non-answer.

Also, how is the ending "inspiring and uplifting"? It depressed the hell out of me.

But the universe is free of the Reaper influence... by destroying the mass relays and stranding everyone years away from the rest of the galaxy!  Billions will die due to lack of access to resources, and friends and family will be separated forever!

The galactic community has been reduced back to the Stone Age.  I mean, what's not uplifting about that?

It's legit.

Wait, BioWare, if you want to appease us (which I'm assuming this statement was meant to do), why can't you just say "We'll have DLC to provide more closure/work with the ending?"

Please, I'm so confused.

He means the article is legit.

I still have faith that Bioware is leading to "Ending" DLC, but ya this does not really confirm anything. Just that they are working on DLC of some sort

Don't know how to feel. At least he acknowledges that there is a significant segment of the fan base is upset and wants more. Although, I can't help but think that this will be translated as mid-game DLC's furthering the story... but if the end stays the same, it's still pointless, no?

Adding multiplayer packs and pre-end dlc does NOT change the horrible endings. Not interested in any more bioware products until they fix the ending. Period.

"...not the last you'll hear of Commander Shepard." More vague PR crap. Seeing Shepard in DLC that leads up to the same damn ending does not count in the slightest.

"This is not the last you’ll hear of Commander Shepard."

Until I hear the words DLC or expansion after the ending, I am taking this as middle of the game story. Still Mr. Hudson you're getting closer to being clear."

"in a story where you face a hopeless struggle for
basic survival, we see the final moments and imagery as offering victory
and hope in the context of sacrifice and reflection."

I got victory? I didn't get that feeling.

He linked to two favorable pieces. I wonder if he has seen some others not so supportive?

That doesn't sound like they understand the fundamental problem I had with the ending at all. At all.

That wasn't bittersweet, and the problem is not that I didn't have time to say goodbye to Shepard (not that I felt it was necessarily all that epic for Shep to die again after the six million dollar man thing we let them get away with in the last game.)

The problem is that the ending jerked me completely out of the game saying "you've got to be kidding me if you think this is good writing." I wasn't sad. I was no longer involved enough in the story to be anything except mad that they threw it all away in the last fifteen minutes.

I want "Strand Aria on Omega" DLC.

This, retaking Omega will probably be a DLC because they set up for it. Most likely will take place before the ending which means more shepard.

That statement in no way reflects any changes to the endings at all. Also I would like to note that he has said that Shepard breathing in the rubble was the happy ending. That was supposed to be the sunshine and butterfly's type ending.....

Just deal with the fact that they don't care about the story enough to tie it up anymore.

Don't expect any kind of new endings.

Much like they can expect me not to buy anymore of there games near launch until they have been fully vetted by the community, because a Bioware game without good writing isn't worth playing.

A request for deeper RPG systems led to
key design changes in Mass Effect 3.

Oh, like 2 answers available instead of 3 before, and add a "skip all conversation" gameplay ?

Btw, he just say we are the vocal minority, blabla, some people did love the ending (so it's good), but we will provide further dlc to make money. He doesn't say they will do something about the ending.
Nothing new, he just makes his Casey Hudson. A bit like he did before, remember :

Anyway, thanks for letting us know you won't do anything because penny arcade say it was good (while forbes say it's ****)

It's an answer - but it's not - but to be fair - he did say he didn't want to spoil anything.

He just said they wanted a bittersweet ending.... but during prerelease hype said they wanted different endings?

That really wasn't an answer.

It wasn't even bittersweet. Halo is bittersweet. This was off the wall suicide bitter.

But we also recognize that some of our most passionate fans needed more closure, more answers, and more time to say goodbye to their stories—and these comments are equally valid. Player feedback such as this has always been an essential ingredient in the development of the series.

Some? SOME?

Really, he can't be this naive... Oh wow.

There has never been more of a legitimate outcry to change the ending of a game then there is now. If Casey really wants to keep Mass Effect a joint project between the developers and the fans, he will prove to us that this game is not ending the way it is and that there is more to get out of it. I'm not completely sold until more details are released, but this message gives me hope, and that's enough to calm my nerves for now.

We're making progress! Keep holding!

More content isn't necessarily the answer to our prayers. He never said anything about a new or extended ending, in fact it would seem that he defended it.

He did say that they were listening to our concerns to develop new content. But he also said there would be 16 unique endings to the game.

I just want BioWare to admit that the ending was a mistake. Can pride really keep them from that? Or are 35,000+ vocal players (plus probably more who don't express their views) just wrong?

This is not the last you’ll hear of Commander Shepard.

Hmm, this could mean anything. I'll assume new pre-end content. Less dissapointment in the long run.
