I agree with the OP, I actually rather enjoyed the ending. I love that Bioware refused to do a traditional, over-done "happy" ending: that's not always possible, especially against the transcendent Reapers. It was tragic and bitter-sweet, powerfully emotive, and followed the theme of the story.

I kinda understand that people are unhappy that they couldn't choose a happier ending, but honestly, this ending fits so well with the game, in my opinion.

It has nothing to do with a Disney ending. This explains it if you want to understand why:

as has been said, liking the endings is a personal opinion, however the fact that they are bad, plot hole ridden and non coherent is a fact. Your standards for 'satisfying' in this medium is probably just very low.

And for the love of crud, would people stop missing the point. This is not about having a 'happy ending'. It's about one that makes sense. Good Lord some people are clueless

EXACTLY BRO.

These Indoctrinated endings aren't 'not satisfying' because they are downers/depressing.. but because they make no sense whatsover.. Reaper tech has a habit of doing that to ones thoughts..

That is where the machines frakked up.. if they fed cohesive, logical endings to our mind, we wouldn't feel the need to reject them and take out our unlimited pistol and shoot...

Looking forward to the DLC btw. :bandit::bandit:

I liked the ending I got when I first saw it (Synthesis) but then I started to consider the plot holes and discrepancies and lost a lot of that initial enjoyment.

Like you YOU haven't been making ad hominem attacks this whole thread.

I'm happy some people like the ending, I don't much care if some don't much care and if you hate the ending that's perfectly your right.

What NO ONE is entiteled to do, regardless of their opinion, is to tell people they are WRONG or belittle them for holding that opinion.

Frankly you are ALL coming across like a bunch of asses regardless of which camp you're in.

When you experience ME2 ending, things like this just can't make you happy in any form. Yeah, if that would be a single project and devs wouldn't have written all the hopes and wonders of the last trilogy part, well, that might have just worked. Now it's just empty promises, disappointing ones. I really try not think about it, game itself is fine, just those last moments leaves me thinking, what have gonne wrong. I mean we all know bw can make it better, they already showed that in past titles, maybe financial problems, maybe something else. There were some key people leaving project in a process, so that leaves another question. Tight EA policy might be part of the cause too.

I'm really looking to see how they gonna solve all this nonsense, DLC will be coming, no matter what, we'll see if that reflected feedback in anyform.

Mass Effect 2 had a pretty bad ending, man. People even said so at the time.

Very depressing reading through this thread. People are allowed to like the ending without being ridiculed for their opinion and forced by peer pressure to change their opinions.

The "ending sucks" crowd should stick to their own support threads and not try to hijack any other thread to be about their opinions especially threads that do not agree with them.

I think it's great to see both sides of the coin on what people thought and not just the side of the coin that shouts the loudest.

Personally i enjoyed the ending being a fan of a lot of old school sci-fi i enjoy endings like that which are outside the box and make me think about things instead of just holding my hand and explaining everything to me. I like room to creatively think about an ending and not have everything wrapped in a neat little package.

I can understand why some others might have expected it to end very differently but i do not agree with what they want for an ending.

Not to mention it was a cliffhanger ending leading to a new game. They  had to finalise it this time. That said i found the ending drew too much attention to the fact the game was filler it had a filler like ending too that sort of made it feel like you achieved nothing much.

I've seen you post in a number of threads that didn't support the ending. You weren't very polite either.

The backlash was minor compared to this. Any polls with 55+ votes any only 2% liked the ending as-is? I think Amazon has DA2 at 3.5/5 stars and ME3 at 2/5 stars.

And neither were they. If somebody doesn't agree with them and their threats against EA they are instantly abused.

The polls are not a very good way to see what the whole market thinks since the anti ending crowd constantly advertises polls and encourages people to vote for their opinions to try and get more support for their cause. They also use peer pressure to try and make others agree with them to vote against the ending.

Internet polls have never been a good enough example because of this.

Wrong. I didn't bring a bunch of people and hijack a whole thread to be about my opinions and then try to abuse and humiliate people who started a thread that is against what i believe.

What i did was point out that some people are taking things too far by making all sorts of threats and spamming the forum. I can't read a single thread on here that isn't taken over by the anti-ending group.

That would take a great deal of proper market research and testing to be fair. It's not as simple as "i pointed to a poll on the internet that says i am right so i am!"

Millions of people purchased Mass Effect 3 around the world.  even the biggest polls are only pulling in less than 100k which is a small minority of the market demographic. Not big enough to properly conduct a research test that would say the majority of people who bought the game liked or disliked something.

Regardless of whether you liked the ending or not, it's hard to deny that there are serious plot holes in it.

A much more important problem is that there is only one ending and your choices don't matter.
So if you thought this ending was great, then I'm happy for you! But there should be more than one ending for people who play it more than once, liked they said there would be.

EDIT: I don't think alot of the people realize that the ending they got was basically the only ending they could have gotten.
Either that or they weren't aware that there were supposed to be multiple endings?

I dunno i have not personally played through more than once because work gets in the way and i have not looked at other endings yet to see what happens there. I think from what i hear the differences are very minute though personally i think that was the case with the first two games anyway it was basically the same ending with a couple of differences.

Not read much on what plot holes people think their were either i might have a look at that sometime to try and understand more what they did not like.

As for what they said did they hand on heart swear that everyone would be happy with it and that they'd tie up loose ends to everyones satisfaction including all your dating sim relationships with whatever LI you have?

Did they promise it would be a happy sunshine ending where you get to save the world and get the girl and live happily ever aftter as the hero of ferel...I mean the galaxy?

and hijacking threads is a nice thing to do?

the argument isnt just one sided because you and your group hijack threads all the time

do you expect people to just shut up and agree to everything you say?

So you have no evidence then?

It's not millions. It's 1.85 million so far. Maybe 2 million by now. How many units do they need to sell to breakeven?

Taken out of context to prove your point but okay. Was true for the people it was aimed at who were screaming about how Bioware lied to them and being completely unrealistic.
