I just got ME1 for PC and everything seemed to be working smoothly up until I reached Eden Prime. Immediately at the start of that mission the screen got very pixelated and everything was red, it made visibility very difficult. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about for reference http://i112.photobuc...ell/Redfuzz.jpg
I changed all of the graphics settings I possibly could in every way that I could think of but it didn't change anything. I then decided to make another game and see if the same thing happened in the same spot again (which it did). I then decided to play through Eden Prime to see if the problem would go away. It persisted throughout the entire Eden Prime mission but, afterwards, on the Normandy, it was completely cleared up. It stayed that way until I reached the Citadel where the same problem then arose (the pixelation/'fuzz' still looks the same except now it isn't red). I'm not sure why this is occuring or if anyone has the same problem but any help you could offer would be appreciated, thanks.

I have Windows XP, Genuine Intel® CPU, T2250 @ 1.73GHz, 795 MHz, and 1.00 GB of RAM.
I usually try to run the game from my external hard drive, but I can't seem to get the game to save there so...all my save games are still on my laptop.

Those are not what counts near as much, although the CPU is really SLOW, and the RAM is actually inadequate, even in Windows XP.

Ah, that might be the problem. My video card is an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400.

The Radeon X1n00 cards are now over six years old, and quite obsolete, for the most part, although a few of the very fastest of the old ones, such as the X1900 XTX and X1950 XTX are still hanging in fairly well.

I might have to save up and get a new graphics card then. ...Or just save up and get a new xbox (mine's dead, I want to get one of the newer models since they're supposed to have less problems). I'll think I'll save up for the xbox for now, maybe get a new graphics card later lol, thank you for your help.

Even if you had really splurged six years ago, and bought a Sager that would allow graphics card upgrades, the rest of any laptop that old isn't worth what the upgrade would cost (quite expensive, at the factory). The last 3-4 years, not even Sager had any laptops made that way any more. Laptops are designed as disposables, not for keeping longer than 2-3 years or so.

Well, that's stupid lol. My laptop's old as hell (in laptop terms), I think I've had it for...5 years? And it's had it's share of problems but it's always been saved. Now I feel like I may as well just get a new one...except I know I don't have the money for that. I'd rather get a new xbox anyways, I still have games for the xbox that I can't play right now 'cause I don't have a working one but, y'know, someday when I've saved up enough money I'll get one. And I'll get a new laptop eventually (someday) too. Probably in, like, 10 years. XD;
