so, what exactly we are asking him to do in this letter? It's unclear what we expect from him.

I believe it's an attempt to quantify the problem and while I agree with the letter in theory, it does not address what we would want in a solution to the issue. Most people are taking the 'Just fix it, dammit' attitude. We need to point out what is actually wrong. Sure, they know what's being said generally. They screwed up the ending, but sometimes you just have to lay things out for people, especially companies since they can and will stonewall or pretend ignorance. No letter of civil discourse can truly get the attention of a company without A) Defining the problem,
By consequences, I don't mean grabbing pitchforks and torches while we go lynch them. I mean that we demand action be made and that we stand together firmly not to purchase or at least at best warily purchase Bioware products in the future. If you stand strong and state that you will continue to spread negative publicity, encouage friends not to buy it or some other tactic, it also helps. Bioware is not the enemy, but their practices are. I am and will be punishing them personally for their actions. They have shown they cannot be trusted to deliver a quality product so I will not spend my hard earned money any longer.
I have seen someone state that we shouldn't 'hold BW hostage', but I have to ask: If our only options to get their attention are to negatively impact sales and reputation, then don't we have to hold those things 'hostage'? That is how it works. Corporations only change when pressure is put on them and that is accomplished by starving the treasury so to speak.
So, while I do support actions like this open letter, there is much that could have been said to make it more effective, and if no one else does, I will continue to hold Bioware's feet to the fire at the very least by simply not buying their products when they are released. No pre-orders, no DLC, nothing like that. If I do buy something it will be at a reduced price when it all goes on sale. And that, my friends, is how you bring about change at the corporate level. I've already cancelled SWTOR so that is more money they won't be receiving from me. Starve them of cash; they will give in soon enough.
